Why not just ask the baht bus driver where he is going? Some will be going up to Pattaya Nua (North Pattaya). Say -- Pai Nai? Anyway, that's what I do.

The Thai people gamble anyway, whether the Pattaya casino is built or not. And if they want to go to the casino, they just go to Myanmar border or Cambodian border, or down to Genteng in Malaysia. Soon they can choose Singapore as another gambling destination. Or hop on the Air Asia gambler's express plane to Macau. All I'm saying that Thais gamble all the time in Thailand, just not in a legal casino right now.

As far as I understand the Casino is planned for Jomtien, a whole different scene than Pattaya city, right now.

It's not going to make all of Pattaya expensive, for those of you who are worrying. You think the high-so Thais are going to drink at your beer bar and pay up the high prices for the issan girl's bar fines?

The real price for the Cambodian visa is $20 -- no baht is officially mentioned by the government. I have never paid more than $20, except for my first run when I paid 1000B. Have your photos and your $20 bill. You can achieve this by smiling, but insisting on the price. I'm not a cheapskate, but I do like to pay the real price for what I am getting. But it's all up to you what you want to do... I haven't done a border run this year though, so can't comment much on the current situation.

You can do it in Pattaya or Bangkok, surely very professionally. I would recommend looking on all the hospital's web sites. Many of them will list the procedure and cost in english right on the site. Just google search.

I hate baht busses because of the unfair pricing policy. Pattaya is a real international destination and it's rediculous to be controlled by this racial policy.

Do you know you can go a very long distance on the baht busses on Sukhumvit for only 5 baht farrangs and thais together? It's not "pattaya baht bus cooperative controlled" on that route.

We're paying double price just to be jacked. The routes need to be defined on maps and color coded so we actually know exactly where we are going when we step in!

The poster who said if they were all 5 baht and we all paid the same thing, then things would be fine and dandy. It's rediculous that I pay 10B for myself and then 5B for the thai female that is with me.

You need to set up a company because the 49% foreign owner limit is full. You buy from farrang, then farrang can be owner. you buy from thai then you set up company because you yourself cannot own it.

Thai men saying hello to me and striking up conversations are basically always gay. I guess I drive the boys crazy.

The truth is Pattaya has so many attractions for families, water sports, day tours. Any family would enjoy it actually, I think. Just keep an open mind.

dongtan is the "gay beach". Jomtien has the boy bars near the start of the beach, so it's only natural. This isn't anything so new, actually. What an education the young ones will find looking around!

The bahtbus mafia own Pattaya. It's real messed up. We can't have real busses or real taxis. It's really messed up.

you got on the wrong baht bus. his route was to go on central pattaya road i assume and up along carefourr and homepro. he had to go on beach road to do this route. Next time just ask where they're going before you hop on.

I have a brand new studio condo, with bathtub and terrace, for rent in View Talay Condomuniums at Jomtien. The location is just before the road from pattaya turns onto the beach. Just bought it and just fixed up. Includes all the brand new features you require. Just bought the unit, and 100% everything is brand new. Delicious breakfast can be had at all the great restaurants downstairs and down the street -- even delivered to the door.

Bangkok hotels had no problem connecting -- they seem to have newer hotel phone networks.

Can any of you recall a hotel room in Pattaya that has the ability to connect my laptop for unlimited periods of time to the internet? I must connect my laptop using local internet service from the room, and without limit (disconnect every few hours I guess is ok).

So many hotels in pattaya have ancient phone connections and do not have the ability to directly connect my laptop to the internet.

I'll be in town later this month and really need this.

Your hotel recommendations will greatly help me. Jomtien or Pattaya is fine. Oh, and I'm on a budget, please. Dont want to spend more than 800B
