  1. Hi mate,

hope your student life is going well.

I got a couple more questions...

Have you used any of the benefits provided.? Is the gym any good?

Did you have a chance to ask about the hours per year, included in the 30'000b-1year-package?

    How is the learning going?

Do you learn reading and writing, early on?

Does the class sometimes meet outside the class-room to learn about cultural things?

Sorry for flooding you with all these questions.

Take care and many thanks for your insights. wai2.gif

  2. I am doing this course at the moment and everything has gone perfectly. The teacher is extremely good.

    Hey jonesyb,

    thanks for your comment.

I'm considering to join this course in a couple of months, but I'm wondering if the statements on their website are still accurate

    1) "The course fees for this course is 30,000 Baht for 216 hours of instruction."

From the last info I got, the minimum hours per years (for an EDVisa) almost doubled.

    2) "This is a 12-month program. Class will meet 6-hours per week either in the evenings or weekend."

Although, on the same page they say: "Class will only be held Monday to Friday either (morning session - 09.00 to 12.00, afternoon session 13.00 to 16.00 or evening session 16.00 to 19.00). We do not offer weekend programs."

    3) And finally, how do you feel about the school in general and the willingness of your teachers and classmates regarding teaching/learning the Thai language?

Would be great if you could share some insider information. smile.png

    Cheers -minimax

  3. Will TT / CC or Yenjit, also change EUR>USD directly, at a fair rate?

You are in Thailand. So Euro > Thai Baht > US$

So you mean, I have to convert 2 times with any of them?

Maybe my VisaCard has better rates in the end. smile.png (even they are vampires ?)

  4. Hi Ahriman,

I actually like your idea of teaching yoga in Chiang Mai. Although I have a couple of questions. I'm assuming, you did your market research and the outcome is that your business model is viable in the suburbs of Chiang Mai.

    - Why do your parents have to move with you in the first place? May it be possible to try it out by your own for the first months?

    - What are your reasons/expectations for/in opening A yoga studio IN Chiang Mai?

    - What are other possible options for the near future?

As for the methods of taking away that fear.. I think the best would be to have a good answer to the questions above.. and also to make holiday here with your parents, so they can see what will await.

You could also compile a list of benefits of living here instead of Germany, with the cold winters, etc.

And as for the hygiene standards of your mom, ..this is something she must accept, before coming here.

    All the best!

  5. I'd like to get a better picture of the actual pricing of these serives.

As I understood, there is an hourly option for 40$ and a pre-paid option for 40$ as well.

Let's say I head for the latter and got a task for you.... One of your examples: "calling a cinema to ask about special promotions", which took 7 attempts and assumingly 15 minutes of your staffs time to get it done.

How would my pre-paid balance look like after completion? Or what about a 15 minute conference call? How does it compare to the hourly option?

Thanks for clarifying and anyways, best of luck for your venture.wai.gif

  6. If I lived in the Old City I'd move, I couldn't stand walking out into that overcrowded circus day after day.

Thirty years ago the Old City was great, sadly it's not anymore. sad.png

Personally I like the old city, besides the crowds on sunday evenings... So what is a good part to live in CM today?

  7. Hi,

read many reviews of the Hua Hin Dental Clinic on soi 104/2, so I inquired about prices for fillings and got quoted 800 Baht for one composite filling.

As most other dentists in hh (cool smile, s-smile) stating 500 to 600 Baht for the same treatment, I'm wondering if it's worth paying that premium at the hh dental clinic?

I guess I need 15 to 20 of them, so it would get a bit costly for my terms.

    Any opinions?

    Thanks, Max

  8. Is it a rule of thumb, that visa agreements are based on trade agreements btw countries, or are there other factors that come into play?

That purple country may have a load of trade agreements with the los - but also too much cheap labor i guess.

Does the Russians heavily pump their gas and oil to Thailand and the gray middle eastern countries doesn't?
