  1. Hi TFG...Funny you ask as we found a nice place only two days ago. We got a 3 bed + two bathroom non furnished house for 7k. Houses are a scarce commodity here for some reason. This house is about 2kms from the center of town on the other side of the train line. There are many seafood restaurants around, my restaurant too of course (Twiggs Bakery and Cafe) quick plug, not many bars, a popular farang bar is Allans Bar heading out towards Ao Noi and the best Italian restaurant in my view is La Vita just up the road from my shop on the right. I think the best thing for you to do is come here and take a look as I did n January and fell in love with the place.

My internet experience so far has been good. PKK is more of a family place and I like it that way.

    Cheers

    John

Do you know if there are more places in that pricerange??

  2. Hi, i dont know if its the right place to put it, but now i try..

Im looking for something in Cha-Am, not expensive, to longtime rent. Minimum 1 year

Something with a room for sleep for 2 persons and a baby, a bathroom, aircon.

    Like small house/townhouse...

IF anyone have or know someone, im happy to hear from them

  3. 3199 up to Erawan, go past Erawan and around the lake up there is really nice.

I was going to go to Hell's Pass before but came across a big immigration check point, as I didn't have my passport on me I decided to turn back, didn't want to get fined or any hassle - anyone ever had problems at this check point?

Been passing many times, never been stopped on motorbike. Think they only stop mostly buses, mini bus and taxis.

    But....

I allways have my passport when i go that way

  4.

Earlier in the year, I went to Three Pagoda Pass, only to find that although Immigration was open (after a long period of closure), that only Thais and Burmese were allowed to traverse the crossing - they were not allowing Falangs to cross.

It is quite possible that the situation has changed, but would suggest making further inquiries before traveling.

Good Luck  and please report back any news.

If you check the links in the two posts I made above yours, you will see that the Three Pagoda's Pass border crossing (Payathonzu-Sangkhla Buri) is NOT on the list of 4 approved border crossing points into Myanmar.  Although it is expected to reach full status in the near future, at the moment it is not open for overland crossings.

Nearest to there is Htee Khee - Phu Nam Ron which does allow foreigners to cross the border and travel onwards through Myanmar (again with an embassy issued visa in your passport)

I know for sure, that thais and burmese people can cross there now..

Now i just have to find out if I can as farlang

  5. Hi

I have been to Thailand many times, but now i want my next trip go to Myanmar. The place i want to go is far from Yangoon, its near The Three Pagodas Pass and i will enter Myanmar there. So was thinking how the rules are about visa, when i want to go to Thailand first and then enter Myanmar this way?

In my country we have 30 days visa on our passport.
