Hello
I have a 3 month NON-B that expiring at the moment and just went to immigration to get a 7 days extension. Now I have to leave and get a new one year visa and my problem is that the accountant doesn't have the papers ready since they're on holiday. Can I go out of the country just to get a 30 day and then go in 30 days to get a new NON-B when all the paperworks are done, or is that a bad idea?
Or should i stay and get overstay until the accountant is back from holiday and go then?

Why wait 6 weeks to do the test if you're innocent? Why do the test at all if you are guilty? This doesn't make sense.

I want to stress that police have investigated this case based on the law, examined evidence in line with international standards... Police Chief
How pathetic he is. The country's chief forensic pathologist has already said that his police didn't even examine evidence in line with Thailand's own low standards.
a) he is stupid
b ) he is a liar
c) he is a stupid liar
He's also getting paid of course. All the way up to the top it goes. If one admit the whole house oaf cards will crumple.

I think everybody should boycott the island. It's clear that someone in the tourist industry with big money don't want the truth to come out. Why go there, when they look at tourist like cattle?

Here on Koh Phangan we have a lot of different rumors. Some say the curfew is lifted, others say it's still in place. Anybody know what's happening? The tourist organizations are requesting they lift the curfew here I have heard, but is it confirmed?

Not visiting Koh Phangan because of the Full Moon Party, is like not visiting Madrid because of bull fighting. Just ignore the bull fight area, or just ignore Haad Rin. Koh Phangan is Thailand's fifth biggest island and it has a lot to offer. Haad Rin is just a spot on the map, and the island is probably the best kept secret in Thailand. I've been living here for a couple of years now and only once I made it to Haad Rin and the Full Moon Party. It wasn't for me. But I just love this island and so does a lot of other people. Full Moon is getting more and more marginalized and I'll be surprised if it survive another 25 years.

Anybody know what's up with the multi million facelift that Thong Sala pier got funding for? Can we expect to see any changes soon or did the money go elsewhere?

The latest number I heard was 52 deaths in motorbike accidents this year so far. About 50% or those are farang, the rest is thai or burmese.

I think that among the people who lives on this island, about 15 has a drivers license.
When I asked the police about why they don't fine the driver who crashed into the kindergarden, they said that they can't fine the tourists who come here to enjoy themselves. But it's perfectly ok to fine somebody 20.000 baht for smoking a joint. Seem like they have their priorities all messed up.

Most of you don't live here and I can say that it's not nice driving your kids to school and let them be exposed to bike crash victims with their brains spilled out on the concrete each and other day. A couple of month there was even a drunk driver who flipped his pick-up truck in to the kindergarden at 7 a clock in the morning. Luckily there was no kids there yet. About the same time another drunk driver in a truck graced a russian mom on her bike with her 1 year old baby in a baby carrier. The kid died and the lady broke both her arms among other things. That people come here and think it's a playground for being drunk in traffic is just so narrow minded. There's actually a whole island (fifth biggest in Thailand) outside Haad Rin who have to cope with all these recklessness.
Instead of police chasing down pot smoker for a easy fine, they should but up street signs with speed limits and fine the people who drive drunk and to fast. Much easier money, and better for the community.

I never been anywhere where they consume so much printing paper as in Thailand. I guess somebody connected to the paper industry.
One thing I think about is what's gonna happen with the visa when ASEAN gets active. I guess they have to start reconsider may things then? Is it still gonna be possible to get visas in the neighbouring countries? Or do all farang need to go back to their own country? Is the visa still gonna be the same as now? Do they introduce more different kinds of visa? The list of questions is long.

Sad to say that the trend of accidents on Koh Phangan is not decreasing. News is a dead for each day the last couple of days, and full moon night hash't evens started yet. Hope we don't need to hear of more deaths before this full moon is over. Everybody take it easy out there, and don't drink and drive.

I think this is exaggerated. We live on Koh Phangan and we have many friends who are foreigners just like us, and many of them have businesses on the island. Only 10% of them are french. Nationality who are mostly represented are clearly British, or at least people from native English speaking countries. Just look at the international school you will see what nationalities are represented.

Any new about the Donsak Airport? Haven't seen any development so far, and no news for over a year now.
-
I came back last week from KL to Surat Thani, and I couldn't miss to notice that they are building a new landing strip new to the old one. Anybody know anything about this? And what changes that will bring to the airport?

Today i saw that they have installed a yellow rotating flashing light in that corner where the accident happened. I guess that they finally thought that it was one accident to many in that corner.
-
What would minimize the accidents is songthaews, police checkpoints and the ban of automatic bikes. If there only where geared bikes less than 50% of the unexperienced drivers would rent bikes. But none of these things will happen as long there's businesses that will lose money on these changes.

Since this accident it has died a few more farangs here in Koh Phangan i learned yesterday. In fact one every day. To top everything I just witnessed another crash this morning. A farang and a thai in a head on collision on the Baan Tai - Haad Rin road. The farang died instantly even if the ambulance was there in 5 minutes. This is really sad times for Koh Phangan. How many has to die before this madness ends?

The man stayed at our resort and I can say that the information from Swedish press is not accurate. What is true is that the person died instantly after losing control of his bike in a corner that has many accidents. The rescue worker told me it has been over 20 deaths in that corner over the years. He died instantly and he left a grieving girlfriend and brother on the island. I have read the police report and there was no sign of intoxication. I have talked to the rescue center, seen the pictures of the accident and talked to the witnesses on the location and everything verifies that's a single accident where the driver lost control in that corner, and the body flipped up on a electrical pole and killed him instantly.
