  1. Did you not read my post yesterday - the red shirt responsible for the deaths of 75% of the security forces in 2010 is in jail. So it's not very clever of you to make a blanket assumption that the entire red shirt community is "synonymous with political violence".

Of course, that won't stop you believing it because otherwise how else could you justify to yourself the killing of at least 80 red shirts by the government?

But Muttley that is exactly the stance you take when accusing the then government of violence..

Of course, that won't stop you believing it because otherwise how else could you justify to yourself the killing of military and civilian personnel and of course the invasion of a hospital arson attacks and wholesale looting of premises by your heroes ?

When I accuse the government of violence I do so in the knowledge that they called in the army for crowd control, they allowed them to be armed with live ammunition, they authorised the use of live ammunition, they further authorised the use of live ammunition against unarmed civilians employing snipers and designating areas as live fire zones. It happened so why shouldn't I believe it.

And forgetting to mention that the Royal Thai Police were playing away from home during that period of unrest. The first team didn't turn up, so the reserves were called upon to quell the idiots who paralysed the centre of the capital city for months. They were so peaceful, weren't they?

  2. Working for the government or being on the dole...what's the diff? Either way, a burden to the UK taxpayer...high taxes to pay for it all...maybe that's why the UK economy is in the toilet.

Someone has had a good day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. go to "My Computer, right click on the SD drive, click properties, remove the check mark in the read only box....then reformat the card (optional step), problem solved.

Still not working, not even recognising the card now in the drive. Will need a new one, methinks

  4. Are you putting the micro card into an adapter to insert it into a PC?

If so, check the adapter to see if it has a toggle switch that says "Lock" or something along those lines.

If so, slide it to the opposite end and try again.

Yes, I am doing that. I tried the "lock" bothways before and again now, still the same problem

OK, so much for the easy solution...

Do you have another adapter, or a reader, or a device like a phone that you can try the microSD card in? It might be that the adapter that you are using doesn't agree with your card, or is defective...

I tried another adaptor (another Kingston) with the same result. I then plugged the SD card into a card reader I had and just the same now also. The card reader has a power LED and a device LWD. As soon as I plug the micro SD card in, the power light goes out, so I think the card is defective. Thanks for all your help guys

  5. Are you putting the micro card into an adapter to insert it into a PC?

  6. Seems I am more dumb than I thought. I bought a Kingston 4Gb micro SD card in Tukcom today. Long way home to find it is "write protected" and I have no idea how to solve my problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction (hopefully not all the way back to Tukcom)

  7. As long at these red shirt villages put up banners claiming 'this here village is a red shirt village' complete with picture of Thaksin on, they should be condemned. It's all very well calling them grassroots movements towards social improvement but with a benefactor like that they are open to ridicule. In many ways the man epitomises so much that they ought to be against: a rich, double-standards, tax dodging, selfish, silver-spooned individual, and I'm guessing much of the organisational financing etc came from his cronies. He uses them for his own personal gain and its tragic that they are so hard up that they have to subscribe to this shameful marriage of convenience, for Thaksin seems to make decisions that perpetually put one individual in conflict with the rest of the country. Furthermore, to make it geographical is to invite discrimination, those few in the village who are not part of the red thinking can scarcely object, given their tendency towards intimidatory behaviour. They are nothing more than a propaganda tool, and it will be effectively used to distort the intentions of a referendum to gauge people's thoughts on a new charter. A new charter won't really make much difference to the lives and rights of these people, the biggest beneficiary will be a few pardoned individuals. Considering this, I think that a covert strategy by the Democrats to defeat the referendum by a 'no show' is perfectly understandable.

I take your points onboard but not really agree. May I suggest instead of decrying, belittling and generally shooting down thevillages please tell me what the Democrats intend to do about it. They've not been elected for 20 year at the polls because they simply are so far out of touch with most of the voters. If you claim the election was won by only a few millions votes why cant they swing such a small majority. Mark and the boys have nothing really to offer other than basing all comments around Thaksins return as the reason for changing the constitution. Can you tell me what else will be quashed by the removal of 309. Immunity for Marks mates (army generals ) may fly out of the window

Let them have their day in Court, accountability and all that.

Who authorised and organised the snipers ????

    Who shot the nurses ??

    Who shot the journalists ??

Who shot the rest of the people ??

Sorry to be boring and repetitive, but these questions need and deserve proper, independent inquiry.

The current administration is pursuing this, through the courts and rightly so.

No need to apologise for being boring and repetitive. Just being your normal self

  8. If the story is true, the motobike must have crossed four lanes of heavy traffic on the other side of Sukhumvit, before his luck run out. Can't feel much sympathy for the truck driver. Hope she gets locked up for life. City speed limit is 60 kph, but cars and trucks travel at twice or three times that on Sukhumvit.

I hope that you are having a dose of New Year's Exaggeration. Which truck can do 180 kph on Sukhumvit? Might be a few cars when the road is empty (when is that?) but I would like to see a truck managing it.

  9. Yawn; how many threads have we had in the past year about dual pricing? How much have those threads changed anything? TIT; live with it or don't go anywhere because the Thai's are not going to change anything that they consider to be normal behaviour....period.

In that case we would be as well shutting down Thai Visa as most of the threads are repeats of one sort or another. Next time I start a new thread, please be assured that I will think of your inane comments before I do so.

  10. Yes, I have some friends that the same thing happened. Guess, just out of luck

Can't agree that the same thing happening several times is just bad luck. Bose is overpriced on the audio side and short of quality on the ear pads side. I certainly won't buy Bose again

  11. They did raid a hospital during the 2010 riots and took a few redshirt bodies to parade around their protest site.

No. They went after the army snipers that violated the agreement not to station personnel in the hospital.

The snipers managed to hide and evade detection from the one incident during the Bangkok troubles.

Are you sure about all this? Or just being your usual "redshirts are peaceful, non violent, lovely people" self

  12. MOst places you can get humous ,but who would want to be a veggie ,

animals belong on our plates along with vegatables and gravy.

    sad.png

Listening to Morrissey is murder ,the guy is an idiot in the first degree and his music is ,well it rymes with pap.

That veggie food didnt do much good for Linda Mccartney.

Reminds me of the old joke, what do you call a pig with wings, answer Linda Mccartney.

And what gave you the urge to sare that pitiful joke with all of us? Pretty poor comments and pretty poor sense of humour IMO

  13. It wouldn't even be the same place. All of the things that make Thailand (or all of SE Asia) exotic, interesting, and different from the West, would no longer exist. Instead of "mai bpen rai", you'd have the good old Christian work ethic, the devil makes work for idle hands, and all that good stuff.

It's not a Christian work ethic, it's a Protestant work ethic.

I know you are from the West of Scotland, and I am sure that this remark was not meant to be inflammatory, but can you please explain it to the readers?

  14. He also said there were 840k UK visitors to Thailand last year.

It would be interesting to know how this figure is obtained, is it UK based Thai visa applications?..or is it a massive round up from all Thai visas issued Worldwide onto a UK held passport

If it were 640k or 740k, what would the difference mean? I don't really get your point as to the numbers
