  1. 1) You can take your bike for I believe 250 baht and only on certain boats so check ahead.

    2) Napuk resort is 600 baht with AC and near beach.

    3) Send me a message if you need any assistance.

The Buddha statue on the southern hill ( don't know the name) is quite nice as a vantage point. There are lots of boats and tours: monkey island , koh sak fishing and so on. the weather is rough at the moment, so you better do not get sea-sick easily.

Most of the beaches are packed with Chinese, Russian and Indian day trippers. One some of the beaches, you can't even swim because of the speed boats rushing all around. Really dangerous.

Others can jump in, but I can't imagine there's anything to do after the day boats are gone. There are a few places to take the scooter, but not many, and not very far.

Personally, I'd head over for the day and check it out first. Easy enough to do.

Thanks for that. I do appreciate the input and also the offer from Udonthani1 smile.png

From the sounds of it, I might change my ideas and find a different island to go to.

As I said, it is a long time since I was there. It may well be that my memory of the place is mixed up with elswhere from when I used to travel around a lot, often guided by a Thai at the time.

In those days you could park on beach road and sleep in the truck!! xlaugh.png.pagespeed.ic.YrVD4txHqx.webp alt=laugh.png width=20 height=20>

    Maybe a re-think is in order smile.png

Much better choice Koh Samet. Take minibus to Banphe, but 100% avoid guided tours with anything Malibu. In Banphe go to main pier opp. 7/11 and take public boat 50 Baht to get to island. Plenty of bungalows on Hat Sai Kaew & Ao Pai beaches. You will enjoy it. Avoid public holidays. MS.

  2. Thank you. the yacht was built here new and will be exported and registered in Malaysia. In fact we will leave Thailand with the yacht under Malaysian flag.

But in order to check in at the Langkawi harbor/immigration we will have to show the yacht having been checked out in Thailand/Samui. What are the requirements for this?

Of no registration in Thailand, you just need a customs declaration of export. Ask a freightforwarder. Shouldn't cost more than 2 or 3000 Baht. But you should purchase from Thai shipyard as non resident, with address on invoice outside Thailand. That way you save 7% Thai VAT.

Furthermore, ask shipyard for certificate of origin, so that no import duties are levied in ASEAN countries, or China, NZ, Australia. Might make it easier to sell vessel in the future.

    Great Info. THX. MS.

  3. I am re-posting this on Samui Forum, as Samui will be our Exit Point and we have not received any response from agents proposed in Phuket Forum. Thank you.

    Hi to all yachties & experts;

I have a yacht built in Thailand which I want to export out of Thailand to Malaysia. The yacht is newly built and in the process of being registered under Malaysian flag now. Our exit point for immigration and yacht-sign-out will be Samui.

Has anybody done this and could supply a checklist regarding procedures. Is there any taxes, duties, special paperwork I need to be aware of? Or would anybody know about a reliable agent who would do the entire paperwork for me? Don't mind paying his fare to Samui, if coming from Phuket.

Thank you kindly for any feedback. M.S.wai2.gif.pagespeed.ce.goigDuXn4X.gif

  4. Its about a Balloonride. The Thrill of it.

Exactly. The point is totally missed here as the folk on these forums are totally obsessed with what everything costs.

You are so right. This is one of the most negative cheap-charlie forums around. I mean the Pattaya one. But, then look around what kind of people live here....Don't mean to generalize....The are some good ones.....rolleyes.gif MS.
