QUOTE:
The shower of meteors will appear to come from the direction of the constellation Gemini, giving the phenomenon its name – the Geminid Shower. At 8 pm tonight, Gemini will appear in the northeast of the night sky.
The website of the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) explained that shooting stars should be visible from about 8 pm tonight until the early hours of tomorrow morning, at at rate as high as 120 an hour, visible with the naked eye. They will be most visible from midnight until 5am tomorrow.
Unlike other meteor showers, which come from comets passing through the solar system, the Geminids originate from an object called 3200 Phaethon, thought to be a Palladian asteroid. The object is on an elliptical orbit that brings it close to the earth once a year, in December.
NARIT advises people hoping to take pictures of the meteors to use a wide-angle lens, with the camera set on ISO 1600, with continuous shooting.

Does anyone know in which general direction should we look at in the sky? Going on top of a hill would be a good choice. But in the middle of the night?

I tune in to breakfast on occasion. Aussie guy is bit much sometimes but the two together works quite well. I'd like to hear more island news, perhaps get some guests in to give their opinions on common topics. Eg Infrastructure, economy etc.
Sound quality usually forces me to switch off at the monument, heading North.
A radio station, besides providing entertainment should also provide a service to its listeners, e.g. traffic conditions, etc.

To solve the inconsistant radio signals, I am using an internet radio. It works very well, absolutely has no reception problems. However, while listening to 89.5, I experienced sound volume issues. That is, the volume varies according to different segment during the program. I wonder whether the sound engineer has anything to do with it?

I have used Siam last year and they are very professional. Their website is also great.I agree as well that Wellta is very good to deal with. Has anyone had any dealings with Siam Real Estate near Rawai? Just wondering if they are good. Thanks.

You can get them at Makro near Central Fest and they cost much less than quoted above.

I managed to catch some parts of the Morning Show this morning but the sound quality was a pain to the ears! I have been experiencing this "volume" issue of 89.5 for quite sometime now. I am using an internet radio so nothing to do with poor reception.
