Which beer brand is your favourite in Thailand? Leo, Chang, Singha, etc.
It's locally brewed under license. It's a German recipe so tastes better than the Thai p***. At least to me anyway.

Of the bottled, cheap Thai-brewed lagers, it has to be Federbrau for me. Unfortunately, hardly any bars seem to stock it.

Quiet, affordable places to live near Pattaya?
I've been visiting Pattaya for years. Have mates there and its a great place for a night out. Just don't want to be in the thick of it. I'd like to keep cycling for as long as I'm able.

Quiet, affordable places to live near Pattaya?
Thanks for all the replies - some great info and will help me to narrow down my search when I arrive next week. I cycle everyday and everywhere here in Chiangmai but I've no intention of riding in the city or on busy highways down in Pattaya - I've spent enough time down there to know it would be too dangerous. I want to be near some ok places to ride so I don't have to run the gauntlet of crazy drivers just getting out there. I'm 52 and quite a strong rider so will typically want to ride 60-90 kms at a time - preferably with hills if I can find any. Also, gravel tracks if there are any routes.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far. I'll check out Sattahip, Bang Saray etc. while I'm there. Lake Mabprachan, in particular, looks like it could fit the bill. Just need to see what smaller properties are available in that area.

Quiet, affordable places to live near Pattaya?
I’m sure this isn’t the first time this has been asked, but I’m looking to relocate to the Chonburi area and need some suggestions on where to begin looking for a place. I’ve visited Pattaya/Jomtien dozens of times over the years but don’t really know the surrounding areas. I’d like to live close(ish) to Pattaya but anywhere within a 25 mile radius is ok as I’ll only go into the city a couple of times a month. I’ve lived in Chiangmai for the last few years, so am a keen cyclist. I’m not expecting anything that compares to here down there, but a quiet area or town with places to ride nearby are a must. Anyhow, I’ll be down there for a month next week so I’m just looking for suggestions on where to start looking. Do Sriratcha, Bangsaem, and Bangsaray seem like good places to start? Maybe around Jomtien or Naklua? I don’t really need to be near the coast so inland towns would also be ok. Like a lot of us, I live on a budget so rents less than 10,000 baht per month would be in my ballpark. I like to eat local food and buy at local markets, so I’m not too bothered about western restaurants etc. - I can get all that in Pattaya. If you’ve read this far and can help, any advice or suggestions appreciated.
