  1. I will return to Chiangmai for selling my car to my friend, but I don't know the detailed process, can anyone share with me about the experience and what documents should my friend and I bring?

If I need certificate of residence, how can I get it on next day?

As I will stay in a hotel for only one week (the main purpose of my return to Thailand is to sell my car), I don't have a long term rental contract with owner. Can I successfully get a short term rental contract with hotel or hostel, the owner agree or disagree, any experience?

    Thank you!

  2. You will normally not get a post paid account unless you have a work permit. On the other hand, top-up can be done on the website by using a credit card.

I already get postpaid account. What if switch to prepaid account, then top up a few money, how long will be expire? Can I also top up via online thai bank for my prepaid account like what I do for postpaid account?

  3. AIS prepaid lasts 12 months from last top up.

And if you're out of Thailand for longer than 12 months, you can top it up online from some Thai banks - SCB for example. Do make sure AIS set your international roaming on - just call them on 1175 if you're not sure - I've found them to be very helpful.

Edit: Just noticed that you're already out of Thailand - go to their website http://www.ais.co.th/roaming/postpaid/smart-roaming-menu.aspx?language=en and call on the call centre number you find there.

Actually, I do like this, I top up every month 220baht to my postpaid account. If I switch to prepaid account, top up 500baht or something like that, what time expire for my top-up, is it possible? coz i think 220baht every month is too much for me to just receive some SMS ;)

  4. As I am now out of Thailand in a long run, but I need to get OTP message from Thai bank. Normally, I'm using AIS postpaid 2xx baht package which is the cheapest postpaid package that I can apply, is there any other solution to reduce the cost?

Or how about I change to prepaid and just leave a few money in the account, will it be expire if using prepaid solution?

    Thanks!

  5. This might be too far away but I know that on Friday mornings Prem hosts a playgroup for pre-school age kids in the public. This is the schedule:

9 am: Exploring and playing together on the JS playground

9:30 am: Snack in the JS Undercroft

10 am: Storytelling with A.Chrissy our school librarian in the library

    10:30 am: Hometime

Email [email protected] to register. There's no cost.

Interesting! Thank you for your useful info.

  6. Since I will probably leave Thailand for one or two year+, I don't wanna sell my car which is only two years old at even 50% off selling price, however, firstly I don't have a proper place for parking my car, Second, it's a waste of money for long term hibernation of my car.

Is it possible to rent to any company or organization legally?

How can I guarantee to be zero lose of my wallet and responsibility in case of any car accident?

    Any good suggestions?

  7. Not sure how you consider Central Festival playground "free". It's 180 Baht per time with a membership card. I think 220 without. But it's definitely not for a child as young as 1.5 years old.

There was a great play-based learning place behind Big C Super Highway that my child loved when he was younger but sadly they demolished that portion of the area to give way for development.

    I think Nic's is a little dangerous - and certainly not for a 1.5 y/o child!

There's free simple playground in Central Festival 3/F in the education zone, just very simple.

I agree, Nic's is a little dangerous for younger child.

Not too much options in CM, right?

  8. My baby is around 1.5 year old, I would like to have my baby interact and play with other kids sometimes, what I can find are:

    1) Free(Just simple play):

The playground in Central Festival 3/F and 4/F

    2) Not Free(play like mini carnival with game center):

    BigC

    Central Festival 4/F

    Central airport plaza 5/F

    3) Not Free(Play-based learning):

    Gymboree in Promenada

    Babygenius in Central Festival

I'm interested in both 1) and 3). Is there any places providing something like that in Reasonable price or even free of charge? If there are social community in some moobaans or public parks are also welcoming:) My initial idea is just having my baby interact with other kids every few days.

    Any idea?

    Thank you in advance!

  9. Do they ship to Thailand and do you get stuck with shipping and duty. I need bifocals with a stigmatism with vary grey lenses in plastic. I would like a medium quality frame with adjustable nose pieces(hate the fixed ones) Do they have a price list or do you contact them for a quote?

Yes they ship to Thailand (from China) at normal postage fee and no duty on any I have bought. I did note last shipment was normal mail rather than previous courier service so did take almost 2 weeks to Bangkok. Have not checked if they have a priority shipment method now.

The reason for buying outside of Chiang Mai is they cost a lot less (and I mean a lot) as all those shops you see are not working on low markups (most will be lucky to have more than a couple of customers a day). And most lens will have to be ordered from Bangkok anyhow in our experience buying there so will almost always be a delay.

From China? Is made in China?

  10. Sorry to hear your 750 is affected sad.png Did you buy it recently or after the recall was announced? I might pick one up at some stage and wonder how much affected stock is still laying around. Seriously not impressed with Nikon QC these days. Hope you locate an authorised agent but I thought the closest was Singapore?

I bought before recall announced, you mean the closest is in Singapore? But It was made in Thailand.
