    Yesterday was my third visit to Royal Thai Police (Naturalization department) and the officer helped arranging all the documents and confirmed that all documents are in palce. I have been in Thailand for 29 years and holding PR for 15 years married with Thai woman with two kids. I was told to pay 60,000 THB extra on top of 5,000 official fees. I was given reason that since I do not know Thai language reading/writing; extra 60,000 is needed. I speak fluent Thai. Can inability to read/write Thai be an obstacle for getting Thai citizenship? I have been told to go with my wife next week and keep the money ready. What if I do not pay 60,000?
