Any experiences on vaccinations for over sixties and seventies in hua hin government hospitals.?
I registered at the very crowded market village venue.
I was given 8 July appointment.
I'm sure that many have gone to the hospital..already But haven't seen any reports as yet of success rate. Or which vaccine they received.

Can't understand this one... As far as I'm aware. After retirement visa is granted on 800k basis...... The money must stay for full year for extension. Not reduced.
Now I read for extension, money only needs to be there 2 months. Am I missing something..... I have had retire visa for 8 years. Now in huahin.... Am I keeping 800k in bank unnecessarily?
-
slightly off topic but has anyone ever tried to get extenion , based on investment in THAI companies. I always have a million and a half in so called green companies , energy companies , solar , conservation .. blah blah . all for the good of thailand ... I never by any foreign . just a thought .

Now I Have no passport! Manage to call Calcutta, did not have bombay embassy then.

Ooh Jo ! This gonna be your specialist subject on MASTERMIND.? Thanks again

Asked about this before with sensible replies.thanks all
However;
I,ve been here 8 years on retire visa, never been a problem.the 800k route always.
This time , I was caught short on the '" seasoning."......was advised by some to leave country for tourist visa , then extend and change to non-o back in CHIANG MAI.., when the money is in bank etc. Seemed OK to me. ...trouble is ..can this be applied for there, I know this has to be applied for 20 days or so before expiry tourist visa. And then sent to Bangkok for approval.
My 800k has to come from sale of shares that I have in Thai stock market the SET. NORMAL SHARES nothing complicated,
Now I hear that the money must be proved to have come from abroad.....hmmm! After 8 years , nigh impossible.
I have only the basic UK Pension , nothing else, so thats out.
Anybody applied at CM for this?
Would you think, or , do you know whether or not immigration CM may accept this. P.S I am NOT a business man, have never worked here, never been in trouble; Just an old retired guy trying to live a quiet ,benign boring life . Some visa agents, no names, offer this, err, extension service for 22000 baht plus having to travel to another province for visa ..... next year am I trapped into doing the same thing?
-
Anyone know of any agents in KL that fix the whole shebang for you.? Seems that it may be difficult there.
I Am nearly 70 , not in great shape so some help would be nice.
My retire visa ends March , 13 . don't have the 800k banked now, so starting again, tourist visa then extend by which time the cash will be visible in bank . Change then to Non O and apply for new retirement visa.
Can see problem may arise with IO explaining what I,m doing there
I am advised by UBONJOE (THE VISA ORACLE) that the retire visa when starting again.....the 800k has only needed to be current. No 2 or 3 months wait
Any confirmation of all this appreciated.
I trust UbonJoe completely , but things and vague rules here do tend to change regularly
The way all the income regs are going .. Imnigration appear to encourage and simultaneously discourage living here !
Any more of these shenanigans and I,m off

Being late for a 90 day report is not an overstay. It is just a late report.
What day does or did your current permit to stay end? After that date you would be on an overstay.
Report date 20 November . Not acknowleged so on 26 reported by my agent
-
I have retire visa . The report date was 20 November. On the 11th I posted to CM Immo. By the 25th no reply so I got my agent to make report on 26th........which he did ( 20 plus 7 days grace?) IMMIGRATION Phoned on Dec 4 to tell me that I am overstay!! AM I?

I've had retire visa for last 8 years ...the 800k in bank route , my visa runs out 10 February , this time I do not have the full amount and will not till early next year. Can I fly out to Penang or elsewhere, in Feb , to get a non O visa and come back to Chiang Mai and reapply for retire visa, ? this may have to be done twice to get the full 3 months in Bank necessary................
Is Penang suitable for visas these days / (last visit was about 12 years ago} are their easier options ? thanks for any input / help.
Things do seem to get so complicated , especially when your knocking on 70

P.S be getting a beer or two early on today ,I reckon !

Gee , all very confusing , I go back and forth from here to England , 65 in a month or so , so for convenience sake , for letters and the suchlike from anybody I give address of a relative in UK who can open ,look and forward to me anything that is not better off in the bin !
I will be going back to live in UK in 2 or 3 months after selling up here ( we all know how easy that is ( not ) having tired of the thai mental ity.
Said relative received letter from Newcastle in November (4 months before birthday ) telling me that they would contact me again before 10 Feb ( no forms , no nothing , just that I would be contacted ., kinda pointless , If not contacted by then I should phone them , an 0800 number !!!! nothing else .
Naturally this contact has not happened , I am not happy about calling them from here .for obvious reasons ,questions ,questions ., then some more questions......unless whoever answers does not have any idea that its a number abroad, dont know about these things .........and I dont want to waste a 1000 pounds flying back make a bloody phone call. then to come back and finish my affairs in the L.O.S
( Land .Of. ( non). Sense.
I had read / thought that a claim form is normally sent 4 months before your 65 , easy, no...instead a letter saying they will send me another letter later .( been watching Little Britain have they ? or Indian beaurocracy for beginners ?) bananas!
My thoughts are that the best thing to do is .....errr.... NOTHING ...and apply when I get back , which could be months and months , Does anyone know if the pension will be backdated and for how long , 6 months sticks in my mind , dunno why , but seems logical ,but does logic apply to the pension service and/or government in general ?
Any thoughts , or similar experience welcome , or even , if I phone a 0800 number or any number from a cell phone ,, can you ? does it go through a switchboard ?
Or even , maybe does the pension just appear ,asking you for a bank account to put it in .
Dazed and Confused .

The guy at Rajavej , also has a night clinic ,from Rajavej over the river turn right about 200 metres on right , Dr Chanakharn . Google him , I recall that besides other qualifications he worked at the Mayo clinic in U.S for 2 years .
My left knee really almost worn out , plenty of pain and immobility , he gave me a cortisone injection , its been very little trouble for 1 year now , expected 3-6 months , Arcoxia 120mg now and again helps ( they work slow , but they do work !), no complaints at all , swim a lot,and walk 5kms most days near the lake ,and cycle .
Obviously sooner or later I'll need another jab and or the eventual operation . Later is good .
Heard various numbers re cost , RAM I'm told by one who had it done there 320 ,000 baht .
180000 sounds better , where was that Sripat ?
-
circus man , just wanted to know ...........is it 90 days after you report or 90 days date on the slip , mine is 25 Nov also .,
apologies .
-
If you go to report 7 days after due date or 14 days before , is the next due date from the day you actually go , or from the due date on your passport , (retire visa )
