  1.

The funds of 800,000 baht only have to be in a Thai bank account for 2 months for your first retirement extension.

    3 months for subsequent extensions.

A single entry Non Imm O allows you the time the meet the requirements.

You cannot get an retirement extension from a Tourist Visa

Can I change an tourist visa 6 months to a non immigrant O in thailand and than make my extention?
  2. Today I tried to renew my non immigrant OA in the belgium consulate but it was refused. No more OA visa for non-married people was the answer from the consul. He tolt me that this was changed from the 15th of September. Can only get 6 months tourist visa or a non 0 singel entry. Even if I want to make a proper retirement visa in thailand now I can't because the money have to be in my bank account 3 months in front.

  3. With sadness I'd like to inform about the death of the thaivisa member Crazyswede. He died in an accident near his village by Surin on his way back from the Buriram Big Bike Show. Let our thoughts go out to his pregnant wife, his family and friends.

    Rest in peace Crazyswede.

  4. I was in there a few days ago with a couple of friends of mine. They had both been before, and enjoyed it.The place is a single shophouse type unit, very nicely decorated and very clean. The owner is actually back in switzerland at the moment, and his lady is running the place alone. she is a very friendly lady, and she actually remembered both of my friends name from their previous visit, which i thought was impressive. As for the food, it was very good, i had homemade lasagne and a homemade rosti, my friends had a sirloin steak with rosti, and the other a dish called black and white which consisted of a piece of pork fillet, and a piece of beef fillet served with a sauce and a rosti.we all agreed the quality was very good and the service excellent, on the whole well worth a return visit soon. By the way she also bakes her own bread which gives off a beautiful aroma as soon as you walk in the place. One slight problem, if you want a chicken dish it seems you have to order the day before, no idea why.

do you have the name of the road it is on, or which hospital (as there are more than 1 ) or directions pls, i would like to try it

  5. Hi

I visit a mates bar in Krasang every once in a while. I am advised by 'er indoors' that the party is in the evening before the marriage and that ceremony usually starts at around 7am to 9am and it lasts for around 2 to 3 hours. Its in Thai BTW.

    Congratulations

    Dave

Cheers Dave....that pretty much ties in with what the wife said and am pleased its Thai not Khmer....is that the bar by the railway track you go to?....used to be two there, one was an English guy I think from London/Essex but havnt been there for a while...

You're gone marry so that time is over now to visit the bar on Wednesday and Friday evenings!! :whistling:

  6. I did the ceremony there in Krasang. It's like Dave said, the party is in the evening before and the ceremony on the other day and all in Khmer style. It's been the only time that Thai people put some small amounts in my hand, I will never forget.

At youtube you can find many clips about wedding in Surin or Buriram.

  7. ]the surin restuarant war continues...

    Sorry Fc,

i think you need to step back a little, view your rants from a distance and if possible try and look as others see....

and yes i know about your personal issue, but if you cant then no amount of replies via these boards will convince you....now over to you, "as a previous poster said, you like the last word"...chok dee

What the Fc do is a representation of the facts. He always playing the ball not trying to tackle the man like you do in previous post.

  8. The pensions in Belgium may be lower in the future but atm. My had has 1700 Euros per month and that no joke. If I work my whole life at my present job I will have 1200 euros. My mom worked only 10 years and she has 900 euros. Belgium is strugling with their pension plans however but then again... I make about 2500 but I only get 1500 net so I pay 1000 tax every month. Must count for something right?

I hope so for your sake Timmy. I think every country will have to make some hard decisions with regard to future pensions. In the UK, less and less are paying 'into the club' but more and more are drawing out benifits. My simple mind cannot understand how this can continue.

    Dave

Belgium has about 68.000 too much officials. But thats not the only problem. A lot of politicians forget what they promised during election when they get elected. I am sure it is like that in a lot of counries if not all. Here in Belgium we pay about 40% of our wage in taxes, nobody is going to tell me they cannot build a decent pension plan of that kind of taxes. They should be able to pay everyone at least a minimum pension of 900€ if they have worked long enough. Now they are talking about making us work longer. My dad went on pension when he was 58 and gets 1700. If I keep working my job maybe I will have to work until 65? And get how much? I do not need a pension of 1700 but I would like at least 1000 since I pay about €13000 of taxes each year I would expect they do something with it.

Welcome in real life. With everything you wrote above, you are probably right. But that is another discussion and off topic for thaivisa. If you are bitter at heart, sugar in the mouth will not help you. So go to work, trying to save, do the right investments and go for it.

  9. I can save 2mil in 3 years rather easily. I have to work very hard but thats ok I for the dream. I have no intention to wait for my pension, I want action! If I fail and come back to work in Belgium for 10 year I can still get a €1000 pension. If I work 30 year maybe I will get €1200. Why work 20 years more for €200... I already have a separate pension plan btw.

This is Bullsh*t !! But........when it is your dream go for it.

You don't have to post a picture like globalwander1 say, I 'm sure the wanke_rs from surin will come over to see your shop whit their own eyes :)
