So my GF, who has been accepted to university in Liverpool has just received notice that her Tier 4 (student visa) application will not be processed in the 15 working days processing time. They claim there is a backlog! As we had a visit visa issued only in June and that was within the said timeframe, we went ahead and booked the flight.
Can we pay extra now to have it processed or can the extra only be paid upon submission? I don't want to have to rearrange the flight as i envisage this will cost even more money.
Trying to contact them too is also a nightmare!

A lot will depend on where in the city you are staying. I'm sure you don't want your young child commuting for hours per day.
If you're near Sukhumvit, I'd say
1) St. Andrews
2) Wells
3) Bangkok Prep
East of the city
1) Ascot
2) Traill.
In my opinion

Thanks for your reply.
There will be about 4 weeks after she returns to Thailand, after the wedding, when she can apply for a tourist visa. And approximately 6 weeks to get the tourist visa
I think this should give her enough time.

Hi all,
My gf is currently studying in the UK on a student visa which expires in September.
She is due to return to Thailand in June and therefore this student visa will not be allowed to be used again because there will be less than 3months left on the visa.
She will apply for a new one (student visa) when she is back in Thailand. However, my sister is getting married in July in the UK and I would like her to attend. Current rules state though that she will not be able to enter the UK again until 28 days before her course will resume in September so the earliest that she'd be able to go back to the UK would be 3rd August.
Is there any way around this pickle that we find ourselves in to get my gf to the wedding in July?
Would she be able to get a tourist visa even though she theoretically still has a student visa?
Obviously, she could stay in the UK until after the wedding, but we've already paid for the flights in June and to return in July. After the wedding, we could come back to Thailand to complete the student visa.
Any advice welcome. Thanks

I am yet to find an insurance policy with no theft component. Sorry to rain on your Saturday morning but an unpaid family debt is the absolute favouriteb at the moment.

Normally, international schools offer 2 year contracts which are either renewed for another 2 years during the 2nd term of the 2nd year or you are told your contract will not be renewed at the same point of the year (performance dependant). This is how the process works in the school I am working in and others where friends are working.
As of yet, I haven't heard of any contracts longer that this two year period. We have staff who have been there for 8/9/10 years and still have to repeat the process every two years.
Hope this helps

And your daughter's education whilst you're having a 6 month holiday? Homeschool?

July-Oct showing at £650ish with air India for your dates. With BA, I found £805 which is pretty good for direct return flights
Hope this is of help

Air India have some good deals at the moment. I've just paid £480 return for a 4 month stay. It's a bit of a wait in Delhi airport, but to save £200, I don't mind that.. Skyscanner is where I book all my flights to and fro.
If you want direct flights, they compare Thai, Eva and BA all on the one site
Good Luck

Hi,
Does anybody know who publishes the series of books that are written in English and have key words that Thais may not be familiar with translated down the sides of the page?
I was thinking they were a part of OUP but all my searches have come back negative.
I have been racking my brains all day and cannot remember.
Thanks guys.

The only man I'd be remotely pleased with would be Laudraup. All these other names that are doing the rounds are nearly men or has beens.

Best bet is Victory Monument. Ko San charge an extra 150B premium and you're limited with the times. VM is is more flexible.... Not sure of the last van, I'd reckon around 8pm

I've never been a fan of jelavic, I knew he was not the best of players although he did have a great spell when he arrived last year. If he would have pulled his weight as scored goals (the job we bought him to do) we could well have been contesting for a 3rd/4th place . I'll be happy with 5th but 6th wouldn't be too much of a disappointment either.
Anichebe is developing into a good player now and hopefully with the addition of a new striker in the summer as well as holding onto Baines and Fellaini, we could well be challenging for that champs league spot (although its not over yet, I don't think we have the strength and depth that others have).
A lot of what happens next season though depends on Mr. Moyes' decision
What are your aspirations for the remainder of the season/upcoming season?

There's a difference between cheating and being accused of cheating. Why cheat? If you're unhappy, leave! If she's not satisfying your needs, leave! Cheating will only hurt her more in the long run. It's not big and it's not clever; more so if the girl you're cheating with is doing it solely for monetary purposes!

Well done to you for having a gik! I'm sure that's the sole reason behind starting off this topic..
Well done on your adulterous ways.

We're missing Fellaini and Pienaar so I think the loss of Bale is counteracted with the loss of them two. Who knows? Good game in prospect!
-
Hello there fellow blues!
Now that Bale is likely to be out on Sunday, do we believe we have a chance against Spurs? Who knows, a win against them and Arsenal and we could be in line for that 4th spot! I won't hold my breath, though. This is Everton I'm talking about. I'll be happy with 6th and stay above the red s^#>e. What are your expectations come the end of the season?

Valid point with regards to the current holders of the rights (TrueV). However, why are new holders (CTH) not shouting from the rooftops? If they begin to market the fact that they will have the EPL from August now, then they can attract some of the said subscribers away from True. Only 4 months to go. Am i the only one who believes something fishy is going on?
-
Any up to date information regarding the rights of the EPL in Thailand from August?

She does have a daughter. Should this be mentioned in the application letter? I've seen 7 by 7 post a lot about ECOs having an understanding that it is the norm for children to be cared for by grandparents. I'm confused and a little worried in fairness.
I think the best thing we can do is submit everything and omit nothing

Thanks very much for your replies. Hopefully everything will be ok then.
