  1. It's a Thailand McDonald's thing. Been going on for decades. Must be part of the training. (If one is feasting on animal flesh, I say they deserve to get ripped off. smile.png )

Oh, give me a break with your animal flesh!!!

  2. Maybe these boys had a bad experience with another foreigner and wanted to take out their frustrations on someone they thought was more helpless.

Of course here, with the well known fact that you can't touch a Thai person's head, let alone with a shoe...Here, that is considered the lowest of the low, most disrespectful acts you could commit towards a Thai person. The fact that they did this to a foreigner shows that they have no respect for foreigners nor elderly foreigners.

This also makes me think that young Thais, maybe more than we think, are starting to rebel against the strict customs and laws in this country. Which I think is healthy in a way. However the way that they displayed their disagreement is completely disgusting and they should be given a good talking to as well as being put in jail for the weekend...or community service....for an elderly foreigner

When I was a kid I used to crank call strangers from the phone book with my friend. What is this world coming to???annoyed.gif

  3. My gf is aged in her early 20’s and is a solid 8 out of 10 in the looks and body department.

It might be because you don't score equally.

Then again you are in a better position to judge that.

"....and use the iphones as security blankets so they don't have to engage in any eye contact with other bland mortals of the world"

I think this is a very valid point.

And I apply it too sometimes........reading some news on my phone is more interesting than looking at dismal faces or people with angry/disapproving/annoyed looks just because

they happen to cross my line of sight.

Also, I understand people, particularly Thai people, don't like to be 'stared' at. So, what am I supposed to look at then in a crowded MRT?

Often it seems Thai people consider half a second already 'staring'.

Are you kidding? Thai people don't like to be stared at?

They are ALWAYS staring at me. I HATE it with a passion. It is so rude to stare. I feel half the time like a monkey at the zoo.

I know they are curious about Western behavior, but it is rude and super annoying!!

Do unto others.....does that really apply in this country??

  4. I'm shaking my head reading many of these posts. I don't believe it matters what country you are from, what language you speak, RED is RED is RED. STOP-HOT-CAUTION-DANGER-DON'T PROCEED That is the purpose we use colors or symbols which are recognized internationally, whether it be an octogan STOP sign, RED light or a "RED SHIRT" <cough>. SO what you have never been to a beach before, I've never operated a train before but hell if I'd go walk in front of one.

Not to mention that these idiots are so inconsiderate to put the lives of the lifeguards in danger too. But why think of the safety of others when it is imperative that you get at least one swim in on your Thailand vacation crazy.gif

  5. I totally agree with the lot of you. They are all disgusting. And since they own the police nobody will do a thing to protect us citizens.

I won't ever get into a Tuk Tuk because they have the worst attitudes and are spooky and creepy.

After all the stories of them beating and raping customers, who the hell would be silly enough to get into one of their taxis??

I can't believe the priorities of the government here. It is appaling and someone has to stop this behavior.

I bet you they all think that the rest of the world works in this way.
