  1. DTAC has been acting funny for me lately, sometimes when my girlfriend calls, its her voive, but a different number shows up on the screen..like the lines are being crossed...

I have a similar problem. This girl keeps calling me, she's not my girlfriend, and I don't recognise the number, but she says she knows me. Strange - must be a problem with the networks.

  2. I have zero knowledge of the mobile phone networks in Thailand other than I have a mobile phone which works most of the time if I keep it charged.

Yes, I have an agenda and I'm pushin' it. It's called comedy, light relief, don't take life so seriously.

    You should try it ?

  3. Once again we're getting the same old boring "pattaya is dangerous" when thers a guy thats been killed for XXXXs sake.

When the truth is out then we can comment but for now i think sincere condolences and sympathies are in order for the guy and his family. :o

you are spot-on there. condolences, sympathies, prayers to the guy & his family, regardless of what's going on.

but when we see news like this, we tend to bypass the sympathy for the victim, and go straight for trying to understand the WHY. If we know the WHY then hopefully this crime and other crimes could be solved and justice could be served, even though, of course, this will not help the victim.

but i guess the chances of justice being served might be hoping for too much.

  4. I wonder how you get shot in the face when you are being chased from behind. Also the girl wasnt shot, which seems very odd if they can so easily do away with a farang, why leave any witness behind?

Something not quite right about all this.. perhaps the girl was in on it, which would explain... well almost everything.

Disturbing trends going on in Pattaya, it's really the bottom of the barrel for thailand these days.

You "proud pattayans" have very little to be proud about, apart from the thousands of hookers, which is why I suspect half of you are there anyway.

And people wonder why farangs in Thailand are getting a bad name.... :o

I agree with everything you say here VanZam and thanks for having the balls to say it - even if you may be flamed for your second last sentence.

  5. You know, I get a laugh everytime "the fearless leader" says or does anything. He is a born comedian without even trying. Where else in the world are politicians this funny, except, of course, for Gov. Arny. :o

:D Thailand: hub of laughs :D

  6. It seems like the plot is getting a little bit lost here.

I have read every post in this forum, and the message I am getting is as follows:

    1. Terrorists are bad

    2. No-one likes them

    3. The muslim community says that they do not support them or their actions

    4. The suggestion in this forum has been for the community muslim leaders of the world to make a public stand against them

    That's about it.

As has already been said, I don't care if these terrorists are muslim, christian, catholic, jewish, blue, green, red or white. They kill people to advance a twisted political agenda.

The "West" has made a stand against these people, how about the rest of the world doing the same ? It would be harder for them to hide. :o

  7. maybe i am just a moron (believe it or not, I have been called that), but I think the taxi-rank idea is quite a good one.

I don't know about you, but every time I go shopping at Big C Rajdamri, opposite World Trade, there is always a queue of people waiting for bl**dy ages for a taxi. I'm talking about an average 20 minute wait. Yeah, there are always the usual dodgy tuk-tuks there in full force, which no-one wants, but where are the frickin taxis ?

It's not like they wouldn't get a job, even if they had to wait a few minutes.

They could have a nap, and let the customers come to them, but I guess it's smarter to cruise around looking for tricks, given that petrol is so cheap and driving around in BKK traffic is so much fun...

(there I go using logic again - sorry, my fault...)

  8. Can somebody please tell me what is the legal position?

Sorry, could not resist, I tried, but...

The "legal position" is when a Thai female (of any age) has one of the following on top of her:

    - Judge
    - Politician
    - Police Officer
    - Family Member

    I told you I could not resist ! :o
