The fact the photo shows only 2 people in the entire hotel speaks volumes

Oh, but this is merely an example of how well organised is the Thai social distancing you see, each few tourist have a whole resort to themself!

    Such a good deal.

And these particular couple were so well behaved we didn't make them to wear the tracking bracelet

As an ex airline executive I can state that 51 pax on an A320 does not cover the fuel charges let alone the cost of the aircraft, maintenance, flight deck crew, cabin crew, landing fees etc etc etc. All the aircraft that arrived yesterday lost buckets of money as will every TG flight coming from Europe in the next few days. Expect reductions in frequency ar even route cancellations in the coming weeks.

You don't think the airlines would have compensated that by very high fares for the few that did travel?

A lot of people from those areas do have big money and have probably not much else to spend it on lately.

Maybe all of these passengers are paying 1st class fares or higher.

  3. Quite frankly, I would be very angry if a tourist and being heralded in front of a bunch of politicians from

Bangkok, that being a Covid hotspot.

So a tourist has had to jump all sorts of hoops, yet these politicians have probably not even went through any precautions, just flew in to Phuket on the day to rub shoulders with tourists. lol

    Its near comical.

Imagine some dude approaching you to fit you with a tracking bracelet and wondering if they have Covid or just came from Bkk.

It was tested.in  High.Court inOz and found to be within gov right to prevent return due to health risk.

That's kind of the point. They have overwritten human rights laws with the flick of a pen, so the high court may as well be another government department.

A human rights movement took the government to court over the outgoing travel bans, since anyone leaving the country longterm is absolutely NO health risk or threat to Australia, yet the court threw it out with what seemed like zero consideration.

10 days in prison will surely get him covid.   I would think the risk of going to prison carries more umph now.

As far as penalties for not getting the jab.   I think there should be a point where anti vaxers must agree to pay out of pocket for any covid related health care plus they should be open to civil lawsuits if they feel ill but still go out in public and infect others.

    Did I miss something?

Where in the article did it mention anything about the person having had the jab or not?

    Completely untrue and incorrect information.

Ok, I think most Aussies know the long story is that you can leave on socalled compassionate grounds IF you apply for permission to leave.

But if you are not married to a Thai and cannot show witten proof of such, proof of business or the like, you are not going anywhere as far as I know.

I'd love to hear from anyone who has been let out of Australia on other grounds though.

I believe by that time they will have to start to re-vaccinate all those that got the Chinese junk with something that actually works against these new variants "and possible new variants we have yet to see", so anyone that has booked a spot for October might be dissapointed because the Thai government will prioritises these vaccines for their own, foreigners will drop down the priority to soi dog level again.

The only hope is that our governments get the finger out as France did and set up a vaccine program for their citizens abroad. The only other choice after that could be returning to you home country - you then be rinced upon your return to Thailand

As far as returning to you home country, any Australians would want to arrange that ASAP.

The two nutjob premiers are now pushing to further reduce the very limited capped numbers of people returning.

I thought it was a basic human right, that your country cannot deny access to a passport holding citizen, but it seems Australia are making up their own rules with impunity.

    Which is Very worrying.

On the other hand if you are away from Australia now, you might think yourself lucky as noone has been allowed to even leave for the past 18 months and it looks like a long time before they will be able to.

Yes. Good lesson. Farang get angry and burn house. Farang go to jail longtime.

When I realized that my relationship wasn't working, I left. House, car and motorbike. No hard feelings. I did love her and was happy to provide her with everything.

Now I'm looking for a new lady that lives at the beach. Don't want to build another house upcountry. I like to be by the sea.

Just a Canadian guy building houses in SEA one lady at a time.

lol. Trouble is, "by the sea" is only gonna get you another lady who is more likely to be only there to profit from the farang...

the same, or probably worse than what you had before.

That's really not fair...we're not all handsome like you.

But he does have a point.

Just if you visited Pattaya, Bkk, Nana, Patpong, Silom etc and see the ugly loser guys that these girls must suffer...

Even if you lost a house before, it actually make you sorry for them!

  10. I see only a few options here:

    leave

    or

grow a pair..learn Thai and embarrass her (in Thai) in front of her friends (and family)

and dont be shy in reminding them..WHO pays the bills.

actually you must ask them that constantly.

    who pays the bills <deleted>?

    they will change nearly instantly.

The thing i found here, up-country people are not that worldly..nor do they really have a lot of smarts.

threatening to <deleted> off (therefor loosing the cash cow) occasionally doesnt hurt.

leaving every now and then is even better.

they havent got the smarts to replace you and are probably to lazy to do so.

I have said here a few times and been crucified for it...

but its a matter of training them to your way of thinking.

again i will remind you..grow a set..it is YOU who is paying the bills!

they will realise their place very quickly

  12. This is a bunch of poppycock.

Thailand have no problem giving people a visa over and over many years.

This 20k thing probably been used as a way to bust some illegal worker who is the wrong shade of brown and doing many visa runs.

1000s of tourist a day thru Swampy and how many asked for 20k?

Of course if your coming from English speaking country, wearing a gold chain, rings, rolex watch, nike shoes and designer clothes..

You really think they gonna ask this guy to see 20k?

  13. you must know by now, Thai attention span is about as good as a mobile phone..

Yes, after a few minutes unactivity the lights go off, and take some pressing buttons to get going again

So therefor, down the road they will be desperate to do anything that avoid an idle stop again and have to kickstarting a very poor underused engine!

So really the only difference between going to a brothel back home and travelling all the way to Thailand is the amount of time you actually spend with the girl?

Well the point being it didnt seem like a brothel experience back then.

A lot of them i would call freelance just trying to get money for the family and they appreciated the help.

Today id guess is all business, in and out in under 1 hour. And not only money for family but to waste on stupid shlt.

Now everyone, even thai girl who dont work bar, knows someone who know someone whos farang bf pay them 10k a month.

Generally curious about the guys who spend their holidays in the likes of Nana, Pattaya etc. Is the price really that different from back home in the end? I used to work (when I lived in Aus), with a guy who goes to the Philippines each year. He used to /still does spend ridiculous amounts of money, and I am assuming over there would be that much cheaper than in Thai.

If sex starved and you choose to go to those areas, why not just go to brothels back home? A brothel back home, is what, 3,000 baht? What is the price for a working girl in Nana after you pay for drinks and whatever else you have to pay for? Then add in the air fare, hotels etc. Does it really make it all that worth it? Or is the feeling that it is more 'real', just because the guy buys a girl a drink?

Once not long ago, you could link up with a girl, have a night out, she stay with you, do your business..

In the morning 1.5 or 2000baht shopping or "taxi money" lol

Now this impossible as to many idiot farangs here paying girls 10k a month and such other silliness have spoiled them

So what do you think happens to a Thai lady ,  penniless and alone in a foreign country when her husband dies?

Everyone rallies to help her ? The days of the Government looking after her are gone.

She doesnt even have food from the farm. I'd heard that a lot of expats were a lousy bunch when I settled here.

But you guys take the cake ( and never ever share it ) . Mean and miserable.

I guess one can come that way after see so many times seen guys hit the dust and left with nothing.

One guy i know buy a house in Bkk for wife, pay everything for wifes other Thai kids education, always buy expensive gift, holiday on and on

While he wife behind his back brag about going up country by herself not to see family, but stay with gik.

Fact is some thai women here will do many things even  a western female would find deplorable and feel no guilt at all.

Your reasoning is noble yes, and ok for the west, but imo, here it just leave you vulnerable and set up for trouble

Im simply appalled that you would have a wife and yet leave most of your estate to a sister or niece!

I had to witness a Will by another North American , a guy with a lovely young wife , yet he was doing  exactly the same !!

It would be different if you were leaving most of it to your kids , but our siblings  back home , particularly in Canada, live in Welfare States .

    Im just dumbfounded...

I dont find this shocking in the least.

What would happen in the rare case a Thai wife had more money than the farang husband..

And if she died you think any money would get to the farang? or thai family?

The  only thing farang get inherited is his marriage visa cancelled, and told to sell  property and go home

I dont recal this man saying she was a scheming. Says he loves her you tell him to ditch her lie to her!. I love it when people bend whats been said to try to make there point of view viable

If he has trust in her, with his life and bank card & Pin then he wouldnt be asking strangers on the net.

I know, i also had an ex like this.

-everyone say she a nice girl-yes.

    -she can take care-yes.

-We both have some kind of love-yes.

-Can trust her with life savings?-absolutely f'ing not.

Ok, there is some farang married into good Bangkok Thai/chin families and a girl being bring up with old style morals, but that  is a small %

the rest, farang/thai, if met upcountry girls at massage or in bars in places like Pattaya and whatnot you will be a sitting goose if you have this fantasy that she would never take advantage.

  19. Good to see you have your thinking back on track. I may face same issues in future which is why i think but of ways to solve this.

    1. Wife-you cant trust..MUST get rid of her.

I would just tell her some BS, you need to go back home to sort a will etc..any BS story involving you need to going home to get money will work. Then scrub her. No more contact. You to old to worry about divorce.just dissapear.

    2. When back in Thailand: new condo far away from old
    ..with ATM downstairs.
Then buy a wheelchair maybe good for insurance in case you not get around so good.

    3. You can advertise for maid, cleaner, helper. Many Thai uni students with good english use craigslist site for 1 example. They would jump at a chance to earn easy money to look after farang a few times a week.

    4. You open thai bank account for her, so she have card and atm pin, and you can deposit money every month, expenses for your food and shopping and her wage.
Easy to sack at any time, just dont deposit.

Once you find the right person im sure they will go on to help you if in worse health.

IMO, This better than a scheming Thai wife, cos the maid have no big expectations!

In any case, you will need to pay something for any lady anywhere for caring, that is the hard fact but at least this way YOU have control!

  20. If you are bedridden you still need someone to generally take care, get food etc...wife, nurse whatever.

But i know what you mean with this trust issue.

If i was in this position, maybe open a second account and give to the helper to go out for expenses.

keep account empty but can use internet banking to deposit a few thousand every time you need.

    Sorry for your challenging position.

Its so easy to get caught up in worry when your ill but actually you can overcome most things

  21. Thats true.
Australia gov have a real hardon about citizens being the nomad cos they hate aus$ going out of the country.
Of course they want you paying a fortune in tax for your lifestyle habits and paying fines and gambling, so all the fatcat pollies can have it sweet.
Basic being a good doped-up beer guzzling lapdog like the rest of em is what they want.

But truth be told every country is like this. some even worse.
They all will make unfair laws against expats and those wanting to stay away.
Thing is, as a rule, expats dont vote, which mean this group have no power at all, so they dont care what they do to you.
And it never is an issue for the general public either as most them are jealous/envious of us people being away having a good life.

Right now they only can make it expensive to live overseas and will claw at your money even though you are using no services and are no drain on them whatsoever. It sucks!

Yet for all the rules and laws they cannot touch that LM investments guy out of duping expats of millions in the Aussie ripoff.

One day maybe they take it to the next step against us but until then the small guy will always slip through the cracks.

There are other things you can do as well as whats mentioned here, but im sure understandable that many aussies posting here dont want certain stuff to become public on these pages.

I know expats arent normally very friendly to others on this site and in Thailand generally, but for this one issue we should work together and to continue to fight the bxxtards

    Sorry rant over!
