I wouldn't say there was anymore violence than before, it only appears that way because everything is filmed with phones or CCTV so it gets more airplay particularly on social media. I have never personally witnessed any violence and continue to think Thailand is one of the safest places in the world to live. In almost all cases of violence where farangs are involved it was they who initiated the confrontations and have usually been drinking.

I think that those assuming that the one child policy and the "little emperors syndrome" is to blame for apparent Chinese selfishness are missing the fact that the policy was only first introduced in 1979. Therefore all these "selfish" Chinese would be 35 and under. Having travelled to China a number of times I found it to be the older generations i.e 45 and older, that were the most pushy and inconsiderate, particularly in queues. In fact the younger Chinese seemed quite polite and helpful. Most tour groups to Thailand that I have seen are of an older age so I don't see the correlation with the one child policy to be honest.

Touch screens, which are becoming increasingly common, are one solution to this problem.... unless they devise a transparent overlay of some kind.

Its not degrading its just the facts. Nigerians ranked number seven on a list of the top ten foreign nationalities incarcerated in Thailand. This doesn't include any allowance for those who had died while incarcerated or who had been extradited back for crimes committed. Nigerians on the other hand do not even make the top 30 list for tourist numbers in Thailand...

If you then look at the data then Nigeria presents itself as being the top country on ratio of incarceration to visitor numbers .. ergo the conclusion based on data is ?????

As a deterrent, I don't think the death penalty works as at the time of committing a criminal act, consequences are rarely considered, nor is getting caught. As vengeance, killing the person responsible for a crime can work in helping some victims recover.

I've been able to visit every website that I've ever wanted. What sort of websites are you guys trying to get onto that is blocked?

I know someone who is writing a historical book in Thailand. They asked me to copy a Wikipedia page on a previous King as it was not available from within the country. There was nothing particularly controversial on the page so I am not sure why it was blocked.
