I did this exact thing with my Google Nexus 7 and had it fixed at the Asus store in Chiang Mai (near Central Plaza Mall). It only took 2 days and cost around 3000Baht but was worth it since I had a lot of information on it and preferred that to buying a new one.

So, the consensus is that more than 3 back to back visa exempt entries at the same boarder (so denied on the 4th entry attempt) will pose an issue at some boarders but not at all of them?
Can someone please confirm?

Please assist in sharing knowledge of the average or current rate for how much to charge per page or per word for grammatical editing in English.
I have heard between 200 and 300 Baht per page. Is this correct?
Thank you in advance.

Sorry but, muratremix, what are you talking about?? Yes, Koh Phi Phi is a muslim island but this has very little effect on the average tourist whom goes there to party their brains out. There are a few places where you may be affected by this factor but not the average hotel, guesthouse, hostel, restaurant, etc.
I lived off and on Phi Phi for a few years now (while working on mainland in Krabi) and at first it does seem like a dream come true- sun, fun, alcohol, no responsibilities...but the underbelly of the place soon shows its face and that shit is ugly.
Lots of drugs, people hating on each other, service is bad, guns, drunken violence, not to mention the fact that it is obscenely overpriced. Drama over the top.

Thanks for the suggestion. But unfortunately we've already checked there with no luck. Any other suggestions out there? Or do any individuals have tea lights in their home we could borrow for an evening?
Thanks again!

This Friday, November 22nd, the organization for which I work, will be hosting an evening exhibition in Chiang Mai city.
We are in desperate need of small electric tea lights for this event.
Anyone out there have any leads on where to best find this item??
All are invited to this event where we will "shine a light" on the beautiful artwork that we create with children and adults with disabilities, orphaned and abandoned children, incarcerated women and teenagers, Burmese refugees and many more groups that we work with in Chiang Mai that face adversity. But first we need tea lights!

Thank you so much. This is extremely helpful. Do you know whether Malaysia is forthcoming with non-immigrant visas?
Thank you.

She is from Germany. I will advise her to obtain a tourist visa via Lao, Burma, Malaysia or Cambodia.
Thank you for all the helpful answers.

Ok, thank you for the thorough answers. Can she apply at immigration for a tourist visa since it is a different type of visa than her previous OR must she leave the country to obtain a tourist visa at a boarder-crossing? Or must she apply and stay overnight outside of Thailand in a neighboring country for that?
Thank you.

Ahh, I understand now. Thank you so much. This was extremely helpful. Sorry to be seemingly lazy about researching this information but it is hard to find straight-forward answers to some non-traditional situations.
Another quick situation:
A friend has a single entry non-immigrant ED visa. It expires in 90 days, but she wishes to expend for another 90 days. What is her best/cheapest option?
Thank you.

Ok, thanks for the advice, however, when I renew my passport my non-immigrant visa is no longer valid, correct? Will I have two passports for a period of time with both being valid and the visa in the old passport being the one I am legally in Thailand with?
Will I be issued a new visa along with my new passport? I do not understand how this works. Can someone please explain what happens to the visa when I renew my passport.
Thank you.

I have a dilemma. Can some please give me a straight forward step by step how to for my situation or the best/cheapest option?
1. My non-immigrant O visa stamp expires on Nov. 28th, 2013.
2. My yea-long non-immigrant O visa expires on December 2, 2013.
3. My passport expires on January 6th, 2014.
Now I know that the visa rules have changed recently and visa no longer "carry over" to a new passport. I live in Chiang Mai (American passport) and would appreciate any advice on when and how AND the easiest and cheapest way to acquire both a new passport and new visa for another year in this situation.
Thanks in advance!
