You should have a back up.

    Example: https://www.lazada.co.th/products/sim-dtac-10mbps-internet-unlimited-10mbps-1-simnet-789-i2322710468-s7847590773.html

DTAC of course if you can get a good signal where you live. Otherwise Truemove H and AIS have a similar product, though a bit more expensive.

Good enough for streaming and most household usage. It's actually unlimited, as opposed to those products that claimed it in the past, but slowed down after you used a certain volume of data.

Monthly option is 200 to 300 baht per month.  The 12 month SIM works out to 117 baht per month

It is not the price , before we paid 1200 baht , it is the service

  4. I been using a man in Bangkok to do all my work for the last 9 years. If I have a small  problem he fixes it by on line service, charges 400 baht, when I send my computer to him by Kerry he fixes it and returns it   quicker than the shops here in Chiang Rai

Google is your friend. Try to build it yourself. It might be a challenge and an experience. Don't forget the screws for the motherboard that keep a distance to the housing and learn how to apply the thermal paste for the CPU correctly. The last one might be the biggest challenge but it is still easy.

Whatever you do. Always imagine that nobody will care more than you..

I am still at a loss as to how and where to register for a govt. vaccine here in CR.

The Mor Phom app. was pulled and canceled after 2 weeks of mistakes and the gov. said they wanted each province to register and schedule people for vaccinations.

Can't seem to find out if this is being done in CR.  Have tried the Thai intervace site which seems to be shut down.

Getting a bit antsy as the covid cases increase.

Also don't want to get left out of the donated Phfiezer vac by America as I am a citizen of USA.

Why isn't a page on a website created which would indicate active sites for each Province on which to register?

I know of people who went with their Thai wife to local hosp. while vacs were being administered and got a shot, but mine will not cooperate.

Hope this finds a helpful poster.

I know of the private hosp offering but don't want to wait that long.

I read that America donated over 100 million baht , just like Australia they donated 68 million , and we cannot get the jab ..????

I hope you have a good visa agent Kevvy.

With Covid, the waiting list has blown out to nearly 2 years now.

Yes , I have a good agent .I have a special circumstances and can apply for a quicker turn around . Plus as soon as the borders open up next year we will go back and my wife will get a tourist visa , and if the permanent visa is granted we can fly to new Zealand then fly back to Aus to get the visa , as we applied for an offshore . Thanks Will

Not sure what (other than a higher bill) a lawyer will bring to the table.

There's a guy who's already in Australia about to have open heart surgery and they refused an exemption for his wife:

A lawyer makes sure everything is right , I assume that you have not sen the <deleted> questions they ask you , there are hundreds of questions. And If you not get the right answer than your application is held up.I have been married to my wife for 11 years , makes it a little easier

Good luck, sincerely. Lot of people having issues.

If you haven't been following some of the stories about people trying to enter/leave would make the coldest <deleted> on earths blood boil. One of the latest:

    • Woman (Brit-Aussie dual citizen)
    • Husband died in February
    • No support in Australia
    • Selling up
    • Going back to UK permanently to live with her daughter (initially at least)
    • Exemption to leave refused

How that is possible is beyond me.

That is why we got a lawyer

Would it be worth going back to Oz ASAP if you have medical conditions and let your wife sell the house?

    G'Day Will

been trying for a while to sell this beautiful home . I need my wife with me as I cannot do a lot of things because of my health and I have no family in Aus. We submitted her partner visa which takes a while to get, my lawyer in Sydney said it will be fast tracked ..

My wife won't phone them, she says it is the same for everyone so no point !

I'm concerned about what the voltage dips might be doing to the air-conditioner, but so far anyway it keeps going.  Whether the voltage spikes up over 220V when it recovers I don't know. If it dips to 160V and then jumps back to 220V and not more, then that is probably less of a risk.

Power shut off last night ,and again this afternoon  it really <deleted>s  you more when you just started cooking dinner  . LOS

    ...Land Of no Service

  14. You would think that after all these years they would work out about the power grid and why the power cuts off and on so often .I am sure our oven got so many power surges that it damaged  the electronic timer.  When my wife rings up they ask is there a thunderstorm of is it windy ..
