Bt500 will be imposed only on those arriving via air. For land border crossing the fee will be Bt30 regardless of the time you are going to stay in Thailand. So yes, for each Cambodia visarun you'll pay Bt30 extra.
the Public Health Ministry proposed a plan to collect Bt500 as a fee for entering the country from foreign tourists staying in Thailand from three to 30 days;.............so if one is on a 1 year tourist visa does one have to pay 500 baht every 30 days?

Was that Highway police or local Pattaya? The Highway police seem to be nothing more than a money scamming operation.
No idea how to distinguish)
But as far as it happened somewhere around Ambassador I guess it's more probably Highway police?

guess it will not help. they just take you directly to the monkey house for not believing the officials

I normally drive a bike and they stop bikes quite often; but after you show your thai driving license it's always been ok with me.
I tried to explain it was some sort of a mistake (and I really believed it was), bit the policeman took no notice of anything I was saying)
Yeah, I understand the game but still...

Hi there
I heard just a lot of times those weird stories about police scams on farangs but it never actually happened to me. Finally I joined the club
Last Saturday a policeman at police block-post in Sukhumvit road stopped me and insisted I was driving without the security belt (even though I was still sitting inside the car with the seatbelt naturally - fnd needless to say I use it every time I drive). The explanation was easy: another policeman saw me driving without the seatbelt somewhere in the Sukhumvit Rd (not specified where, though) and reported to the block-post. The result is 500 Bt fine.
Sad, but not for money.
Does it really happen so often?

Hi,
I'm looking for a hospital for ESWL of a kidney stone. Has anybody had such an experience here in Bangkok? I've already contacted several hospitals (incl. Yanhee, Vejthani, Vibhavadi, Mission, Bumrungrad, etc.) and see that the price range starts from 50 kB. Yet I guess there may be a possibility to find the procedure for about 30-40 kB. If you are in the know, please advise. Thanks

Just to let you know that ALL the Russians arriving on a package tour do have medical insurance. So they're not costing Thailand any extra penny; more than that you probably know the hospitals charge the insurance company at least twice as they charge you if you pay in cash.
