  1. Posting this for a mate.

He's been living in Thailand with his girl, both of em on a ED visa connected to a 4-year uni. Had a bit of a medical emergency and both of em stopped attending classes about a month ago. They've both gone back to her country now. She's going to stay there. He's coming back to attend to their lease and close out his visa, then return to her country where they will stay indefinitely and probably never return to Thailand. His ED visa is set to expire in August.

Should he expect any problems or fines related to his visa? Would the school contact immigration and inform them that he was not attending class? What's the best way for him to proceed?

Thanks in advance for all advice.

  2. I can sell them 500,000 for 50 million baht.  Supply/Demand.  If anyone needs one, I'm selling some super rare hospital face masks for 2000 each.  Can only sell 10 at a time.

    I gotta get mine.....

I can sell them 500,000 masks for 50 million too. Then I’ll deliver 250,000 substandard masks that cost me a fraction of the price and I’ll split the difference with whoever was responsible for authorizing payment.

  3. so by your reasoning i guess then,
its fair to say..catholic paedofile priests are sent to places like Australia because they had protection for so long??????

Im not sure what that means. Im just saying when people think about expats in Thailand, they tend to think about pedos, sexpats, and general debauchery. Like it or not, thats the perception many people back home have about us.

  4. “Thai girls like fat guys bc it’s a sign they can afford to feed themselves.”

“People who work at proper restaurants wash their hands after they use the can.”

“I could pull a girl her age in my country.”

    “They’re gonna start cracking down.”

“Thais need to start learning English or they’re never gonna make it.”

“I’d wear designer jeans back home.”

  5. He "bragged" about his exploits in Thailand. Without dates, times, locations and victims there is no evidence, without evidence no case. Such bragging is loathsome, it makes me, and many others here I am sure, want to kinetically rearrange his face, repeatedly. But it is not prosecutable.

You’re right. Plus, they don’t even jail their own teachers for doing this stuff. Why would they go after foreigners.

Very sad though. Ask around and you’ll find many of the sex workers in Thailand admit they started working at bars as young as 14. What’s being done about that?

  6. hmmm well in my 15 years experience and jaded opinion, there is still very little difference between them both.
I remember meeting one of the nicest genuine Thai girls I have ever met quite recently infact. There were feelings of 'wow she is really something, has her own business, not lazy, own car, big dreams, positive attitude, everyone likes her, well spoken, caring, buys me little treats and snacks, not super jealous'' wow I thought, after meeting hundreds of Thai women I really thought, this one is really something. you know the type that just brings out the best in you?

Fast forward a few months and still there she is, playing all the right moves, busy with her business, still caring and buying me little treats, being romantic and looking at me with those big loving eyes. wow I thought.... should I put a ring on it?

Then like clockwork during a trip back home alone to my home country and her fearing I may not return back to Thailand for a few months, oh she says im expanding my business. I just need 300,000 baht can you help me out?

Sure I said... then I proceeded to block her and delete all contact with her permanently and bang my head against the wall...

Id like to just add that after 15 very long years living here and thinking im bullet proof to Thai BS and their little games, even I was almost duped that time. and that was not even a creature of the night... goodluck all the odds are stacked high

This is an interesting and debatable situation. It’s hard for us to imagine the way Thais perceive us, specifically with regards to our wealth. I’ve always been told most of them assume we’re all rich. Many of them can’t even afford to visit a neighboring country, yet we come there from places all around the world and are able to survive for months at a time without working. So is your gf wrong to assume lending (giving) her 300K is no big deal? Plus, I think many of us are guilty of assuming a Thai- or any poorer person anywhere- is always up to no good when they ask for money. Or at least that they’ll mismanage the money... At the end of the day, I think we’re all more inclined to lend money when we’re pretty sure we’ll get it back. Either way, 300K is a lot of money. I might’ve had a conversation about this before you cut the girl off. See how she reacts. But I’m not gonna say you did the wrong thing either.
