I am currently in the UK for Christmas, this is all over the BBC, ITV, and Sky news bulletins. It's the second story on the ITV news stating the island is well known for drugs and crime. It is painting a very different picture of Thailand that many UK residents actually believe.

I am quite surpised its isn't in the main news section, not just the local forum.

They ain't redtops .They are classed as broadsheet.

The Times and the Independent are actually tabloids and the Guardian is a berliner. The only broadsheet daily in the UK is the Telegraph.

I wouldn't disagree with you SC, but I don't think these queue jumpers generally target only farangs although on some occasions maybe,, the place I live only a handful of farang live and on the odd occasion that I do see these queue jumpers as many Thais are also the victims, however a classic last year whilst at the Thai consul in KL for my annual non imm visa, the gates opened and after everyone( mostly farang guys and ladies about 15 people) had cleared the security gate and were waiting in an orderly line for the office door to open, the wife and I were halfway up the queue, in walks a young 25 ish Thai lady,, shorts so tight up to her private area and a top on that the wife was embarrassed to think this lady was a Thai and dressing like this in another country,, walks right past everyone up to the front of the queue to wait for the door to open,, no one but myself objected to her, I said she aint no special case and should join the queue like everyone else, to which she replied that her visit was for a different issue than everyone else's, I said my piece but it wasn't really worth the hassle of getting into a full scale argument about,

So it's ok to murder a foreign tourist ? How do you know he was arguing with anyone?

There's a Polish fella living opposite me that often annoys me with his loud music ,I think i'll go & stick him ,he doesn't know who he's <deleted> with.

It's not ok to murder anyone but I think it's pretty stupid for some tourist to come to someone else's country and think they own the place. There are a lot of dangerous people here and it's always best to be humble and keep a low profile. We do not know what really happened here but I'm pretty sure both the tourist and the youths both didn't want to walk away.

I am 100% sure that when she received a 30 day sentence that everybody totally understood that it was 30 Days, not 800 Days. Why did she tell you that she would be in prison for 800 Days?

His "GF" told him that she would be in jail for 800 days and that it would cost 240,000 Baht to get her out.

Now, from his own investigation, he finds that she is actually sentenced to 1 month.

If you can't spot the lie then i'm afraid that there is no hope for you either.

If he sent the 240K, she would stay in jail because that is probably more than she can earn in 2 years and what would she prefer, paying the money to get out of jail or staying in jail for the rest of her sentence and having the money in her bank account. How many others has she used the same sob story on?
