  1. Well, this is the first time I've been called politically correct. My friends will have a good laugh over this. If you read my post again, it's not about 'political correctness' (which you've thrown in reflexively in this case) but about relevance. You have not explained the relevance of skin colour to the reporting of this case or the other example I gave. Why stop there? Why not say they were wearing Levis or that they'd eaten pizza for lunch? It would be just as relevant...

Oh dear you really are a silly billy aren't you sad.png

  2. So, Chuckles, please explain how it would be relevant if it said 'three white people'. No-one, it seems, can muster the logic to answer the question rather than resorting to insults and throwing about that old saw, 'political correctness'. If the article said, 'three Canadians' or 'three Nigerians' then it would be relevant. Get it?

You remind me of one of my ex wives when she was menstruating. Could not speak for fear of upsetting her. Black could not be black and white could not be white. It had to be laced with bullshit because she was so so very tender. Like walking on egg shells. ... Pathetic

Oh my God. I think I was married to the same woman at one time. Also one of my ex wives biggrin.png .

You have my deepest sympathy Sir ... I hope you are better now lol laugh.png

Why does this article emphasize "Black men"? Would it not suffice to say Brazilian males? Does the use of the colour of skin add emphasis to the horrors of this tale?

You would not protest if the article said "3 white men", "3 Middle Eastern men", "3 Japanese ... 3 whatever... ", so why should the three black men qualify for exemption? Besides, it helps short the list of suspects by a few million. Call a spade a spade. Who knows, maybe the news may get out to another individual who has been similarly abused by three black men, which could prompt them to come forward and eventually lead to capture of the felons.

    I would...

    Ridiculous petty pathetic you would/are

  4. Maybe you are too soft. Maybe my standards are higher than yours.

Maybe you look soft and therefore an easy target. No one ever rips me off at 7Elevens, Family Marts etc.

Dream On Matey. Enjoy your trip.

I imagine your in there thinking how nice it is to be able to easily and conveniently grab essential items while being served by such pretty young things with nice eyes and all and completely oblivious to other aspects.

If this sounds like I am saying 7/11 staff are all corrupt then I am most definitely not. Most of them are lovely and I really appreciate 7/11s but there are some bad eggs just as there are everywhere else in life.

  5. Some people are private. They have no need to share their feelings. Death is a personal experience.

Not a bad way to go. Would know nothing about it. Painless - Except for emotions.

    R.I.P.

I once saw a documentary about a man who wanted to kill himself with a shotgun but missed his brain and blew the front of his face and head off and he survived. He wasn't pretty.

But he was glad that he survived ....

  6. Have got to feel sorry for the locals some times seeing how some foreigners behave and treat them.

Though, i must also say, i have been driven mad by 7-11 employees to a point of wanting to kill them.

    J

agree. i find myself on many occasions having to grit my teeth and shut up and just get out asap before blowing my top.

There are scammers who work there too though, You have to watch them checking out your goods. Listen for if they double scan just one single product ...

It is not impossible that this french guy had a good reason to be upset ... but yeah, more than likely the beer making him over react ..

I'd say you guys are a bit over the top aggressive types.

"i have been driven mad by 7-11 employees to a point of wanting to kill them". Seriously Lemoncake, Thailand may not be for you.

Sure, there's a few annoying staff in some 7Elevens, but nothing that should make sensible Farang "grit their teeth and blow their tops", or want to kill them.

The next Pattaya News Clippings thead could be about either of you two - on a bad day when you couldn't restrain yourself - perhaps after drinking too much.

Don't put me in the same category as wanting to kill. Getting angry when somebody is blatantly stealing from me but not having time to do something about and gritting my teeth it is totally different. By something about it I mean going with the correct procedure such as speaking to the manager etc.

Maybe you are too soft. Maybe my standards are higher than yours.

  8. The people who run and control prisons have an almighty job and responsibility to deal with. All those men trapped and cofined together 24 hours a day for years.

There will be so much testosterone and anger and fear and many more emotions to deal with.

They walk a thin line and must keep control.

Sure they have guns and discipline but they cant go shooting all the inmates who break the rules.... Can they? Of course they cant because the world wouldnt stand for it.

So they will need to ensure the prison runs smoothly by other means including giving a "Feel good factor" to the inmates. They dont want a war or a rebellion or an uprising. They must avoid this.

So they use rewards and recreational activities and so on to keep the inmates focused on a positive direction.

I dont know but I am sure there will be Muay Thai competitions for the inmates to focus on and use up anger aggression and energy. A man needs a focus and a release. All forms of life need this.

So I imagine this Aldhouse guy will become quite popular if hes good at it ... and if he tries to do in there what he has done in Phuket he will be erradicated and put down.

My feeling is that once he is over the initial shock of being sent to Thai prison and he begins to settle into the pecking order he will become involved with their system and fit in pretty well with the flow of things.

You are clearly fairly new to the idea of Thai prisons I think.

Visit Youtube or pick up one of the many accounts of life inside Bang Kwang (Big Tiger) and then you may understand the reality of the Thai prison system.

Ok I will. Always did enjoy the "Locked up abroad" episodes.

Yes I am new to the Thai prison system (phew!) but I will educate myself at some point .... but right now it is pissing down with rain here where I am so I am off to hang out in a beer bar with the young ladies and tourists rather than rot in hell lol ...... Cheers.

Good luck Aldhouse old boy rofl. I mean we all have times when you feel like killing a man but YOU DONT ACTUALLY DO IT!! duh

    Enjoy your afternoon.

Bang Kwang is not a place you would ever want to be locked up in. It is known as "Big Tiger" because it eats men alive.

I agree with Terrythai, the men in there will show Aldhouse zero respect. If he shows any attitude he will be put firmly in his place.

But take the time to read about the Thai prison system. It really is as bad as they say.

Ok. Will do. Cheers Mr DLock.

Rain has eased up, the sun has got his hat on again, so will walk the beach walk. Known as "The Big Hoi" because it eats men up rofl laugh.png

    Just joking. Cheers thumbsup.gif

  9. I think this fearless fighting machine will turn into a scared little mouse once he enters the Thai prison system and as such will receive the reception and hospitality he deserves fromm the inmates.

To suggest that inmates would be intimidated by this louse is a joke, the way he killed shows he is a basically a spineless coward.

Hopefully one way or another he never sees life outside prison again.

a spineless coward would be too afraid to use a knife on an enemy

And on Fridays they all get fairy cakes.

What is it with you and fairy cakes ?

  11. It's disheartening to see how many wish to use this tragedy as an opportunity to make vacuous comments, and "jokes".

A life has been lost forever, and another for the time being. I'm pleased that this guy is facing justice, but some of the comments here seem to be written by the kind of mob who used to turn up at public executions to jeer at the condemned. Tasteless.

Now just "hang on a minute" Are'nt individuals entitled to an opinion without being accused of belonging to a mob ! That attitude belongs within a dictatorship.

    1) No one was really accused of belonging to a mob. Read again.

    2) The comparison made was no worse than yours to a dictatorship.

    3) The attitude you speak was one of concern for civil rights and due process -- precisely what is NOT typical in a dictatorship.

Sent from my iPad using ThaiVisa ap

    1) I disagree - There is a clear accusation of mob mentality

    2) Simply reacting to an unfavourable suggestion

    3) What about the dead guy and his family?

  14. Welcome back Lee.

Hope you brought your soap-on-a-rope, not something you want to be dropping anymore. rolleyes.gif

    So inappropriate.

It is not the right of anyone in gaol to mete out punishment. This is the right of the courts only. In any country. Gaol should simply be a deprivation of liberty. To allow systematic abuse simply lets loose a very damaged person onto the community at large once they are released.

Yes you are right - I guess. But the types of gaols you mention here will only be found in the perfect world or in paradise - unfortunately.

Anyway, I don't think that Lee Aldridge will be allowing any such behaviour to happen to him that Soupdragon is fantasizing about.

Any guy who attempts to commit acts of indecency upon him would have to be one hell of a crazy person. I don't think aldridge will be getting messed with too much.

    Who is Mr. Aldridge?

...Mr Aldhouse should he be found guilty will be warmly welcomed into Bang Kwang ye olde gaol, where I have no doubt that Karma will take care of him.

Whatever .... I don't know him well enough to get his name right every time

  17. Try this: ask the average 20 yr old Thai female whom she'd rather marry, and whose children she'd rather bear, a Chinese or an American. What do you think the answer would be? smile.png

What's this got to do with anything?

What's an average 20 yr old Thai female?

I'd say it would be a very close choice. So many variables though. Often a dark-skinned Thai wouldn't be asked to marry a Chinese.

If the American was colored, then it would definitely the Chinese man.

It's not racialist to say "Black man". It's ok.

"colored" sounds like they have rainbow skin or some bright green or red lol

Tell me about it, I'm Black American, and my wife (Thai) is part Chinese. She was proposed to by a Chinese Thai guy and turned him down before she met me. How do you know what a Thai woman will definitely do? Hell what ANY woman would definitely do?

Silly bigotry really. Sounds like something out of the 50's or something.

In Bangkok I see more and more Black and Thai couples all the time. Not just sex buddies but actual couples. My Black French/African frriend has made a street bar with his Thai woman. They are a proper item together.

I always have thought it was white people who have put down black skinned people but I was watching a movie about diamond smuggling in Africa and 3 black guys shouted and mocked at Leo Dicaprio "Look at the little pink chicken skin white boy!"

Now every time I see a white person I think of dead chickens hanging in supermarkets .... and I AM a white person !!! blink.pnglaugh.png
