  1. I was overstayed in 2007 and was deported (not sure if it called deport as I walked to the immigration deptt. and inform them to take me in their custody as I am overstayed by one year. He asked me how much I can pay for his fees as undertable money, I paid both court charges THB 2,000 and officer's tea money THB 7,000). My passport was with pilot all the way back to my country. Back in my own country, I was handed over to police. Nothing happened there. He asked me for tea money. I paid it, signed a self written statement that I have Thai wife and I don't want to stay away from her so I overstayed. Police officer laughed and asked me to go.

Still, am I eligible for Thai PR?

Today, I have NON-'O' visa, a marriage certificate and a Thai born baby boy.

My income is more than required level.

  2. If this is the case of K bank, it seems intresting for me as I am their one of the biggest customer with huge daily transaction.

I and my partner are doing trading business on 'O' and 'B' visa resp. and banking on Kasikorn bank and Bangkok bank, lets see if we can avail OD, BG, DC or LC on only company registration documents without WP.

    Thanks for very useful information.

  3. As far as I know India, my own country, is most corrupt and may be top money launderer in the world. But, surprisingly it is not on watch list. Our ministers and bureaucrats deposited approx. USD 2 trillion in all tax heavens around the globes.

This amount is an official amount. Unofficial amount is USD 15 trillion approx.

    So, FATF is trustable?

Yes it is. Money launderers like to avoid tax as much as possible. Transferring funds via banks in India and also from India to another country is very difficult or even impossible without a payment of tax to the India revenue dept. somewhere along the way. On the other hand, for Thais transferring funds by banks, there is almost no requirement to show where the funds came from, nor evidence that tax was paid on those funds.

Sending money to India needs title.

Sending money out from India is almost impossible for common people.

One who can establish 'title' successfully using several central banking rules, can rule this 'Money Laundering' business.

On the other hand, we need just driving license or any official ID card as an indetity to travel to Nepal. Most of the criminals, travel on fake ID cards. No need of passport or visa for Indians and indeed for Nepal nationals to travel to each others country. God knows, how many Indians are travelling on Nepal passport or vice versa.

And, banking in Nepal is not strict.

So, that's why I said, how much FATF is trustable?
