Today our dog bit our housekeeper. She bit her once, on the back of the leg, it did puncture the skin, in a single spot.
I immediately bandaged our housekeepers wound, and told her to take the rest of the day off. I paid her for the week
and gave her 2000 additional baht.
My friend, who speaks Thai, said that she will take her to the clinic later today, if she needs, and I offered to go as well.
Of course I will pay all of her medical expenses, but I am thinking I should also give her next week off paid.
My question is how much additional compensation should I give her? It seems like paying her medical bill, giving her a paid week off, and an additional 2000 Baht for her pain just is not enough....Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.
*Our dog is fully vaccinated, had her rabies shot in March 2021 and is due for her booster March 2022

Hi there. So we moved to Thailand for a year in 2012 from the US. In that year we adopted a soi dog who is basically the best thing ever. When we moved back to the states in 2013, we took her with us. Our vet here in Chiang Mai assisted me with the paperwork and it was very inexpensive to do it on my own. I paid for her vet visits and her cargo ticket. Cargo was heated and pressurized. I had to take her to the vet 30 days before our departure and 3 days before our departure. She was vaccinated and microchipped, and not placed under quarantine in the US.
We moved back here in 2016 from California and I did the same process where my vet from the US helped me with the paperwork and I brought her into Thailand. I didn't have a problem brining her to the US or to Thailand, and the cost was truly minimal since I did it all myself. I would definetly take them with you.

Hi everyone...I have a quick question.
My daughter is 19, and holds a US Passport. She came to Thailand to visit my husband and I, and entered Thailand on a visa exempt on March 7th.
She was permitted to stay until April 5th. However, on March 30th we extended that visa at Chiang Mai Immigration for an additional 30 days, which allowed her to stay until May 5th, now with the automatic extension she can stay until July 31st.
My question is ~ I am just wanting to double check that we did not need to go to immigration for a new stamp that says July 31st on it, as her current stamp just shows she was allowed until May 5th.
Thank you for your time, and I am sorry if this has already been answered...I am a bit new to the board.

Thanks so very much Ubonjoe...I emailed The US Consulate in Chiang Mai this morning, and have already received a letter back for Thai Immigration. If any US Citizens are in the Chiang Mai area, and are needing a letter for an extension, the email address to request one is [email protected].
This applies only to U.S. citizens in the Chiang Mai Consular District (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Kamphaengphet, Lampang, Lamphun, Mae Hong Son, Nan, Petchabun, Phayao, Phichit, Phitsanulok, Phrae, Sukhothai, Tak, and Uttaradit). If you live outside of the Chiang Mai Consular District then you should email the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok at [email protected].
For the letter you will need to provide;
- your full name as it appears in your passport
- your date of birth
- your U.S. passport number

My question is ~ Do you think Thai Immigration would extend that yet again, due to the virus, or will she most definitely be required to leave?

Hello there. We are a family of 5 ( Mom, Dad, 2 girls and a boy) who just moved to Chiang Mai from Oregon. Our kids are ages, 10,11, and 12. I am homeschooling them (we do about 4 hours each day, and then usually go out on some sort of outing after school. We would love to meet some other families, with kids similar ages. They are really missing having friends to socialize with. We have a great yard to play in, but I think they want to run about with some other kids too. We live near Wat Pong Noi, and Suthep road. Also, I am willing to take up to 3 more kids in our home school. I can teach anything from 4th to 7th grade, and have all of the materials, that I brought from the US. Thanks so much for your time. Looking forward to meeting new friends soon.
