Do I still need a permission from the Chiang Mai Amphur office to make an essential trip to Bangkok?
Is there any other documents needed?
And what when coming back to Chiang Mai?
Flying there and staying for two nighs.

No fear of dying as long as it comes without pain.
I will just go to the place where I were before I was born.
I.e. nowhere.

Even in Chonburi, the amount of foreigners was a handful, yet here it is made out as if we alone were totally responsible. I remember that when many were calling for the borders to be closed, it was the government that kept them open long enough for the virus to get in.
It is also the same government continuing to make things so difficult for businesses to operate, that so many of these people are still out of work, with no help coming from those in power.
I have lived here (Chiang Mai) for many years and have put up with the regulations for us expats.
But now I totally agree with you. As the most cases are thais coming back home from several countries overseas.

I am not an atheist. To me, that contains the same certainty of belief as any religion. I'm an agnostic.
An agnostic is a cowardly atheist.
Sure. We can't know, but we can see absolutely no reason to believe in any supertatural being. That is atheism.
An agnostic is about 50/50 when it comes to beleiving, nearer a christian who is 100%.
You both believe, more or less.
An atheist don't belive, but is of course bound to the scientific method. IF there were to come some proof we would have to examin it and, maybe, change our mind.

As stupid as Thais.

This is Thailand.
They don't keep themself updated.

From CDC:
If you are NOT sick: You do not need to wear a facemask unless you are caring for someone who is sick (and they are not able to wear a facemask). Facemasks may be in short supply and they should be saved for caregivers.

I think Chiang Mai wants to know every time and returnees' must 'check-in' wherever they've been.
No they don't. Been away from home many times. Inside Thailand that is. No problems att all.

All hassles in Thailand can be eliminated with money. So you're just not doing it right.
And to make sure you don't end up having hassels, use some common sense.

Of course you should tip.
It's interesting how many people think they have an in-depth understanding of all things Thai when they can use it as an excuse to save money.
If you want to be kee niaow then don't blame it on your deep appreciation for Thai culture.
Tipping was, as far as I know, introduced in Thailand by American GI's who was here on R&R during the Vietnam war.
It was/is _not_ part of Thai culture.

A visa allows you to enter a country. The stamp you receive in your passport is your permission to stay.
When on an extension of stay, based in this case on a non-B visa, the extension given is for the allowed stay granted previously. Your visa will be expired.
But I'm sure UBJ will explain that better than I can..................
Semantics.
When you get a visa you get a stamp or a sticker in your passport saying how long you are allowed to stay after entering the country. Call it whatever you want when extending the time you are allowed to stay, but do _not_ come and say that those who call it an extension of visa are wrong like you were a "know it all".
Semantics as I said.

The office near the airport is closed. You will do it at the Promenade office.
A. Not sure what the situation is when a applying for an extension of stay (not a visa) based upon working is.
B. It is 30 days.
"Extension of stay". So many messerchmitts here are always correcting those who writes "extension of visa". Even Global Moderators like in this case.
A Visa is a permission to enter and stay for a certain time in a country.
Ergo. An extansion of the time you are permitted to stay _is_ an extension of the Visa.

I have moved several times already because of noise and anywhere I go there is always some guy that has to make my life miserable.
Now I am stuck with a guy that plays music several hours per day. Yesterday it went on until 2 am. I complained about it and then they all ganged up on me. I offered to buy him any headphones that he want. He refused. I offered to split to week 50/50. He doesn't want that. And the most shocking part was that some random guy said it was his home so he can do anything he wants and everyone agreed with him. That is just so WRONG. I bet the cops are going to agree with them too.
I just can't believe how ignorant everyone in this country is and you just cant reason with these people. They are selfish. My life is miserable but he doesn't care cause he wants to listen to his music.

Yes. You are right. It's not more complicated than that. Most of the times. But, TIT.

Well. Follow the law, and you are safe. But if you can take a shortcut, without breaking the law, do it.

Can you as retired get permanent residentcy?
I read a long time ago that you could't, but I forgot where.
Does anyone know if you can, and if you can't, some official site that says so.
