CM RAM hospital:
Impressive Webpage indeed
Impressive mission and goals...
Chiangmai Ram Hospital will maintain a unified effort in providing high quality, patient focused services to our community.
I am impressed
but let's see the facts:
Twice emails sent to Dr. xxx were not forwarded to her
The third one was, but I have to write a not to request the message did not get lost as usual somewhere between Customer Service Department and Internal Medicine Desk
Today, I discovered patients do not have access to HOT SPOT CMR
"We do not have the password"
"You have to be in-patient"
So, if you are in ICU or Mortuary, you can enjoy HOT SPOT CMR
but if you are OPD, when you wait to see the doctor, to pay the bills, to get medicine at inflated prices,
you are not entitled to use HOT SPOT CMR
At Suan Dok Hospital, you have access to Wi-Fi (not perfect network, I have to say)
There is a Intranet network to allow the doctors to consult your medical file online
I was really impressed when at emergency room at Suan Dok Hospital, the doctor was able to compare my EKG
to another report done 3 years before.
No more comments
except that unfortunately, I have to go back to RAM and to waste more time without being able to consult Internet.
Just would like to add: usually, when I am customer with any business with Wi-Fi, I have access to it.
Not at RAM hospital

Kind of you, but no problem to update all my
Ios 5.1 devices
My concern:
On AppleTV
Settings> iTunesStore> Location
Thailand is not mentioned at all which prevents to sign in iTunesStore
Of course, I can have access with all my other devices (computer, iPhone, iPad) to iTunesStore Thailand and if I use another ID to iTunesStore England.
But with Apple TV2 ( the one before the last one), since strangely Thailand do not exist in Location: NO ACCESS
-
Could you confirm that, please:
On AppleTV
Settings> iTunesStore> Location
Thailand is not mentioned at all which prevents to sign in.
I know how it is possible to sign in with another ID from US
Why so many countries are mentioned, but not Thailand?
Possible to keep MobileMe features till June
iCloud is OK too.

Just don't buy a Samsung if you plan to keep it more than 12 months. Samsung alwasy seems to have problems about a month after the warranty runs out, and if they have discontinued the model, there is a very high liklihood that you will not be able to get it repaired. This problems runs across their entire product line. For me, personaly, problems with TV remote, washing machine, mobile phone, high end MP3 player. I'm DONE with Samsung forever. As a Thai gal I know said to me, "Samsung is beautiful on the outside; shit on the inside."
Just would like to confirm: I'm DONE with Samsung forever: I had too many problems with Samsung: Keep going to get it fixed

I'm not sure how this interpreted as a rip-off, surely it's just a limit that's been raised not a charge?
If your credit card provider raises your credit limit is he ripping you off?
No, but it is a potential threat and I think I should have been consulted before...

This morning, I received a message from True (I am using True-H) stating that my credit limit for international calls was raised to 6 500 Bahts. Quite nice!!! Without asking me, without consulting me, my provider decides that they can rip me off every month.
I called 1311 to be told that was a nice gesture from True to facilitate my business. The customer service officer was very surprised that I was not interested by such privilege . I was told it is going to be cancelled, but I am still worried: I have too many negative experiences with True. True customer service officers listen kindly to your problems, try to appease you by sweet words, and honey sentences learnt by heart at seminar, but your problem is NEVER solved. This morning, I was sweetly promised to receive some information by SMS: of course, I NEVER got it. True is the worst customer service: in fact, no service is offered

Another request to the helpful computing community here in Chiang Mai: is there a shop can recharge or replace the depleted batteries of an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)?
I bought a new battery for UPS APC at ChiChang Chiangmai land

Been a happy customer for over a year now. Apparently they have new programs (HD,) requiring a box?, at same price as normal subscription. Have not had time to go there yet to confirm. Cheers
Yes, a box is required to have access to 200 digital channels. (deposit:300 bahts) same subscription
You can call or go there to request it

I asked today and was quoted 42,000 baht... So around a 20k premium for not waiting until the Thai release, which should be early next year.
I thought it would be in Thailand by the end of this year...

AIS 1 2 Call has never been able to explain how are the hours calculated, how they are charging the customer...
I went 2 or 3 times to CM office to get explanations why my credit was disapearing very quickly
I shut off all push notifications, shut off all why I could
Even so, credit was going away...
I was told they could not check on their computer how I was charged
I was told that my contract " Internet Lover" was cancelled when it was not
I was still charged for it
In fact, they do not have a proper idea
They just keep saying: " It is a problem with iPhone"
Probably, being the only provider not being able to secure a deal with Apple, AIS relieves their frustrations on customers
AIS sucks, "honest mistake"!!!, they say...
I am using now True to my complete satisfaction
True offers a promotion with unlimited data: really worth
Check on their Website

Just came back from CM city.
Around 11 P.M., most of the bars which were not already closed were closing down at Loy Kroh Beer garden or Boxing
A police car with 2 armed soldiers was using loud speakers to remind in Thai people about the curfew in CM province.
I did not feel brave or stupid enough to take any risk, I came back home
Safer even if some brave people assure they keep cruising without any risk
Good night...

Al Jazeera was the only balanced reporting I saw on television, in english.;-)
Yes indeed, Al Jazeera did a great job: extensive and balanced coverage. specially on Thursday. Congratulations...

It looks we brace for more curfew days :D :D
TAT should start a new Amazing Thailand promotion" Enjoy long sleep night and save money on drinks"
PM Abhisit: Curfew may relax in the next few days from 11pm to 4am or midnight to 5am; exact time to be announced later

From ThaiVisa Twitter
First things first. PM says curfew continues tomorrow as well, but hours may be reduced, e.g. midnight to 4am. /via @terryfrd
Any confirmation of that? what about Chiangmai?
-
Just to confirm not a scoop...
FIrst time, I really notice armed soldiers in Chiangmai: around Wat PraShingh, most probably to prevent access to the former site of Red shirts which was cleaned off Thursday. I pretended that I was going to buy some food, but the smiling soldier said " cannot go" and when I asked what was happening, replied there was nothing there, I tried to ask if theye were Red shirts, he kept smiling when saying No.
Most probably, armed soldiers are there to prevent access to the former Red shirts site in case they would like to have as TGIS meeting.
Quite friendly atmosphere and if you park your car, you are not prevented to go... was too lazy to do it...

According to British Embassy
· We advise against all but essential travel to the city of Chiang Mai where a number of violent incidents, some involving gunfire, have occurred following the clearing of the Red Shirt demonstration sites in Bangkok. Red Shirt demonstrators have set up a demonstration site at the Chiang Mai railway station. British nationals already in Chiang Mai should monitor this travel advice and local media before going out during the day, and otherwise comply with the curfew in force.
What is the situation this morning?
From the end of my soi, traffic looks to be normal on Thanon Suthep?
Petrol station are opened this morning?
any information please...
places to avoid....

I'm on Maxnet at present, but I noticed that the TT&T shop in San Patong (my nearest town) has closed down. Further along I saw a new shop opening for 3BB Broadband. Just wondered if anyone here knows the story - I know that Maxnet was facing some kind of financial crisis this year, is 3BB a reincarnation? Or someone new on the scene?
yes but bad karma and very poor reincarnation

However, Suvarnabhumi airport will remain closed until 6pm today due to the presence of protesters, making it unsafe to reopen the airport.
-- TNA 2008-12-01
Huh? Have I missed something?
When are the Airports opening again?
According to Reuters, it will take at least one week... when sit-in is over

Maybe Chiang Mai Ram should be called Chiang Mai Scam. They tried inflating my bill as well. I caught their error and made them give me a refund. I had to go to their accounting department to get my refund, but I did get it.
I think the hospital should be investigated for fraud.
Age Limit For Thai Driving Licence
in Thailand Motor Discussion
Posted · Edited by Rooo
font size.
I was told during a dinner that foreigner cannot renew their driving licence when they are over 70 years. I never heard about that and I know several friends over 80 who get a Thai driving licence.
I google and only minimum age is mentioned. I just would like to be sure.
I am afraid the guy - he is French- who mentioned this rumour has wrong informers
Thanks
