Standarts are high but people there?mostly - not competent."Pribunis" complex,if you know what I mean.

  2. many people is worrying now and wondering why two possible terrorists can be able to get in a plane with stolen passports

I just want to remain to everybody that the terrorists don´t need stolen passports to crash an airplane.

There are many young, blind, brainwashed, fanatic with clean delictive record, who are very proud for doing it and contribute this way to their cause.

There is no way to stop this kind of fanatism.

Otherwise I am not going to say that we must do nothing. We have to try it by other possible ways, more control it´s the only way.

Fanatics you are talking about come from places like - Afganistan,Nigeria,Somalia - they need visa everywhere and routinely they are refused;so they use dodgy passports instead.

  3. A lot of travelers go from VT down south!but...they do it by sleeper bus!All it takes is one night in couchette bus.

Tad Lo cave they visit using direct bus from VT(often returning to VT).And you visit Bolaven - making small or big loop out of Pakse.

If you want to traverse through Thailand - you have to pay 30$+ for another Laos visa, they do not give double entry.(and 3 pages in your passport;2 for visas,1 for stamps)

OP doesnt say,if he uses own transport.

  4. Big thing on the way is: Tad Lo Cave - underground river, must see 100%,stay there overnight

another big thing - Bolaven Plateau east of Pakse with fantastic waterfalls, with your own transport you can see them all very easy.

Pakse - stay in Pakse Hotel and enjoy the view, use it as a base for Bolaven.

South of Pakse - Champasek and temple Wat Pou,magic place! Then SiPhanDon - 4000 islands on Mekhong with huge waterfalls(so called Asian Niagara),you can stay on DonDet or DonKhone(better);but your car you will have to park on mainland;rent boat and go to watch for dolphins;you will not see them much;all jumping dolphins had been shot, those who survived -

are very shy;but the river scenery is fabulous. In couple of years Laos will start construction of hydropower station there, all will change - this is your last chance!

  5. @simple1 - Iranians are very resourcefull - they will go there with visa or without. They had no visa entry to Japan long time.On fridays/sundays you could see crowds of them - thousands in UenoPark. They created to much nuisance of themselves - visa free entry was finished.Indonesia had to be pushed by OZ to terminate VOA for Iran.?to much money and biz opportunities

    had been lost!

Another thing: who started that snooping/spying story?Australia?NO!

    It was Sukarno during famous conference in Bandung - half a century ago.He used low-tech approach:call girls and high class prostitutes snitched for him on all politicos from Africa,Asia;

girls were his personal gifts to them.So called - honey traps. The monument of that event had been erected in central Jakarta - locals call it:the last Sukarno's erection!Have you seen it?

He tried all his gift-girls himself, before passing them.

  6. ........

The Indo government is not a signatory to the relevant UN Conventions, therefore not obliged to assist the Oz government. In addition I would imagine under considerable domestic pr.

    ........................

I do not believe for one minute that Indo is enjoying the experience of having to host all the refugees and must be pissed off with Oz government policy and actions. What will not help is the recent allegation that Oz security was spying on Indo/USA negotiations and passing on info gathered to USA. This begs the question on what constructive contribution to Indo, Oz can now make to assist Indo with managing the refugee issues.

We are critical about Indonesia policy, but lets look on similar problem in Europe:

Italy, instead of pushing back boats to Africa - they grant boat people residence status,so they can leave Italy and go enmasse to ...France!

France - keep refugee camp right next to the entry of Chunnel, and they keep their eyes closed when refugees jump on cargo trains going to UK.

This is all fountain of hypocrisy.

"Indonesia is not enjoying"? - Man! they are enjoying very much! This is money!BIG MONEY! this is big, black money - no tax!everybody in Indonesia is very happy.

Iranians? - going there by thousands, they do not need visa to enter Indonesia.

  7. I am sorry to hear this,I know this pain to well.

The trick is - you buy your son cheap tablet, kids destroy tablets - no matter how expensive - glass is glass:very fragile.

New tablet will cost you same as new display.

7inch is better then 10inch - somehow stronger,it can take more abuse.

You may have good luck finding somebody with the same tablet, which is out of order as a result of battery failure;then you can switch display or the battery(this is more easy).

    chock-dee!

  8. I had something to do with lift maintenance. What happened here is called in jargon - "Guillotine";because usualy head of poor victim is seperated from the body.

It is the most outrageous accident which can happen in this business - of lifts/elevators.It must not happen in any circumstances - Lift engine is blocked by limit switch activated by the door.

This accident is evidently the result of no technical supervision and no maintenance at all!

    This is total criminal negligence!

People who used that lift share the guilt as well.Poster "pattaya28"is very, very right.

you do not step in front of coming train, just because the gate is open ?do you?even if you see green light?

  9. There are 2 border crossing possible;one near Sisaket another near Surin.

Today that 2nd one:JongChom/O`smach is better option then Sisaket.

As they said above - you have minivan going from Surin bus station to JongChom every 30minscost 60B.

    Today from OSmach you can get good bus to SiemRep and PnomPenh;you can also stay overnight at border/casino hotels;

or you can take ToyotaCamry - up to you.The road is new and quite good.It takes less then 3 hours to Siem Reap

  10. Listen to peoples voice! So many recommended you Sandisk player;I 2nd them.It will cost you only 50 $!You will get audiophile

sound quality,if you have good earphones. What you save on player - you can invest in good earphones with exellent result.

If you do not believe us - go to portal "AnythingButIpod" and see what they have to say and show about this device.

If you do not like it - then go for Samsung smartphone - S3 or S4 or even better - Note2 or Note3 all of them have very good sound.50$ is not big deal - you can try,buy from Amazon - you should take latest model called Zip.The device is tiny - saves space in your wallet and in your pocket.

If you play music and audio on your mobile - you are in perpetual conflict with incoming calls/short battery life.

Nokia simple models have very good sound , 3.5 headphone socket, long battery life, try them.

To say that mp3 is audophile quality is stretching the meaning of the word audiophile a bit. Whilst mp3 is adequate for most of us and it is true that investing in better headphones will often improve the quality , it is not until you can listen to FLAC or lossless that quality equal to CD quality is achieved. That is why i am so interested in Dave Boo's post about the FiiO X3 , altho i would say with FLAC or Lossless file , not being compressed files , you you need the 64 GB card to hold a sufficient number of musical tracks.

I am not attacking the scan disk or even ipod or mobile phones but they still a distance from audiophile status and if they meet your expectations then that is great .

You are one those, who claim "golden ears"?Most of us - are with silver ears, just because of age.Waste of money, man!Do not kid yourself.

If you can tell diff between 320kb mp3 and Flac - I will buy you champaigne for coming NewYear.and I will congratulate you - you are one of the few.

anyway - Sansa plays Flac, however Flac is power hungry and battery life drops to 5hrs or less.1 cd in Flac is 300-500M;320kbmp3 - about 100M.

In mobile situation - out of your bedroom, with much of outside noise - playing Flac even through best IEMs is overkill.

In your bedroom or studio - it makes sense;but much better results with much smaller investment you will have using stationary equipment.

Will you walk around on streets with Sens800 around your head?

@upcountrysinclair SanDisk do not sell their players in Asia, they used to sell;to much competition from cheap Shenzen.

  12. post-168382-0-44854600-1380153145_thumb.post-168382-0-41329600-1380153364_thumb.I know one very good shop with tons of old electronics, all with very modest price stickers but ...in another coutry:MD devices, mixers with cassette recorder, cassettte drives..

    I have seen contemporary devices,which you may find in your local shops;

"Cassette To Mp3 Copy" and "Video/Audio Grabber"

The first item will do the job without comp.Is it decent?- you have to try!price is very decent:about 1000Baht.

  13. You certainly need some cassette player to play your tapes,if you like them, original prerecorded?or your recordings?

You certainly do not need any player to transfer your music to your comp.

You can find all your music in internet and download.I believe, that you know all titles and names?

You will get CD/digital quality.Quality of your recordings....Dolby?...bygone era of hi-fi.

Your comp can automatically search net for your favourites and catch/record from internet radios broadcast.

This is legal thing. If your tapes are prerecorded, then everything is legal.

Buy some good walkman for listening with good headphones,or buy good quality stereo with cassette drive.

  14. It will never work.By Thai law(according to some ThaiVisa members) - they must register wi-fi users with their passports.I think,it can be done only before departure not in flight.

I was in flight recently where I could surf the net, using the display in front of me,the same which was used to watch videos and other entertainment.

Wi-Fi allows you to use your smartphones in flight.

SingaporeAirlines tried paid wi-fi in flight many years ago,but it was met without enthusiasm and it was not fully implemented that time.

They always say, that radio transmitting devices interfere with navigation equipment - and now they want wi-fi?

  15. The same product as covered by CNN? The ADE 651?

Some military officials got darn rich from this guy.

Interesting thing - Thailand is not mentioned at all in CNN report;only Iraq.

I think, that all this story is obvious failure of all 3 letters agences, which are supposed to know everything?

You think, that they were not aware of that scam?

    He is one of them!

Good question: he was working for who?
