  1. So I have s screen that just nor show anything, its black, the powe button shine

and I checked cables and check pc and tested on other pc etc and also hade some

guy from JIB come and checked and conslustion screen is dead hehe. Now before I trough

it out I wonder any way to find out what the issue is as maybe fixable?

Its acer Predator z35 buts like 4 years old. Acer have some service shop in

Chonburi but to long to go as huges screen and not fit on mc hehe. Any tips

of some screen fixer in Pattaya?

  2. So I ask for a friend of mine that was 2 weeks ago in Savannakhet Laos to apply for a new tourist visa.

They checked his passport at the consulate and gave it back and said not possible , to many TV and to much history. He asked the buss/agent company that arrange for the trip what do do now and they suggested apply again for transit visa and he did that and that worked , he got 30 days and was told by the buss/agent that he could extend this another 30 days in Bangkok immigration.

This company had also promised him when he booked ticket in Bangkok that it would not be any problem to get one more TV but that was wrong so I would not trust any of this buss/visa trip companies as rules can change overnight.(Yes they did check his passport before he went to Lao with them and said no problem)

So question is can he get the transit visa extend or get a new 30day transit visa in Immigration in BBK? Any one actually manage to do this?

He need the extra time to get all in order to get a Non-O visa.

  3. So it seems to be some new thing at banks, well in my bank at least. I went in and wanted redraw

money and handed over passport and then staff started look true all pages, like she looking for

something. She had to call manager as she seems not to understand what was visa vs extension in my passport

I start getting <deleted> as non of their good damn business IMO. Passport is valid that"s all the need to know.

I asked what is the problem? what are you looking for?

The manager explained they need check extension as if I not

have extension I could not use over counter service, but to use ATM was fine she explained.I did also see she adding stuff

in PC but maybe was my passport number wich they already have so I wonder what she added.

She was also very quick to say: but we don't report, just check.I do understand passport need be checked so its a

real one and valid date etc but my extension is non of their business, and yes I do have valid extension.

The bank I want say is great, they know me and I get always the best service so no shadow on the staff, just doing as they are told from higher up.

This was yellow one, Krungsri in Pattaya. I guess I get paranoid but I feel TM30 <deleted>, 90days BS, changing of money in bank etc and now more

    checking make me feed up.

Next is need show passport with proper extension to buy snacks in 7/11. So do not go to any bank if

you even have 1 day overstay as the thing they said, we don't report, I don't believe one bit. Maybe I'am wrong, just feel its to much now, Rant over.

I hung in for nearly 20 years. Now I’ve sold a bit more than half of my assets here and trying to get rid of the rest. It just doesn’t make sense to stay here anymore, especially when there are other options out there.

Thailand used to be easy. That was the attraction. It doesn’t matter how much you contribute here, you’re either Thai or you’re just tolerated until they decide it’s time for you to go. That’s no way to live out the rest of your days.

Same here 18years+ and I agree 100% with you

  5. It's easy to get a 1-year extension with a agent but as some poster said very risky if things change. You use an agent now, then some reshuffling happened in the top in the local immigration office your agent use. You come next extension and want to be legit but your bankbook is blank for that time it should not be. never was any 800k for 5 months and 400k the rest of the year. Then you are in deep shit, its all up to the new boss and his staff but if and I do say if ????they would follow the law and rules then you are the big crook here as of course, they will claim you as a foreigner doing bad things, not the agent and the officers involved before, they always go free. Heck not even have to be by the law, he just doesn't like your face or he pissed that you do not use an agent so he can make extra money, whatever shit that can happen. So  IMO agent is now a very very bad idea. But of course, up to each person how that want to live here.

You get a single entry tourist visa there if you present the required documents.

The want to see a statement from your bank showing the equivalent of at least 20k baht in it.

Question for a friend that plan this, He is not living here, means he does not have bankbook in Thailand, just cash and visa card so would cash work for him? As I can't think anyone on holiday brings bankbook from their home country

  7. I jump on here instead of open a new post. When I get my new passport in my hand my plan is a few days later leave

Thailand and well my retirement extension will then ofc be canceled. My question is will I get some issue

when leaving the country? I bring both old and new passport I just want to save time to not move extension to a new passport

as I will not stay more anyway and save a page in a new passport. It will be a few days between collect new passport to I leave.

    ... also @INV

    Per reports I recall:

    • If you are using "monthly income" to support an application for a Non-O Visa based on retirement, an embassy letter stating an adequate income is acceptable; this can be from your embassy in the country where you are applying, if no longer available at your embassy in Thailand.  You may also be able to show pension-letters and bank-statements (home country bank OK) showing the pension being deposited.  But, in either case, some report one must also show proof of a Thai bank account with some money in it (can be a small amount).
    • If you are using "money in the bank" to support an application for a Non-O Visa based on retirement, the funds can be shown in an account in your name in any country.  But, you must also show proof "of retirement" - can be a letter from your embassy stating simply that you are retired or that you have a pension.
    • You can also use the "combo" method where the two total 800K (mo-income X 12 + bank-monies)

I have to admit I never have seen this and all posts here on the forum we all talk about show income never needed to prove its from some sort of retirement pension money. This would make it almost impossible for many below real pension age to prove. Mean most if any countries do not have retirement age at 50+. Well if this is the way it is I am seriously screwed for another 9 years before I can get any documents that state I am retired even if I am, but income based on savings and investment

  9. Proof of retirement I don't have and can't get one until I am 65 years old. I know they can make up any rules they want but my understanding there is nothing in regulation say we need show or even be retired. That was bad news as before just show money.

Maybe this is one of the new regulations that was mention in some news a week ago that we still wait for information about

  10. So I have an issue to get 800k in time into a bank or show 65k monthly. I have money locked and

invested and I need more time. SO my retirement extensions are over 1 Oktober could I then go to

e.g Laos and get a Tursitvisa single entry? (60+30) or even double entry but I guess that would

be too optimistic but single entry would solve the issue. I know it's hard to be sure as things change

so fast now but it's my last hope to stay if I can do it that way.

Then after the Tourist visa go to Laos again and apply for visa O again and hope that work. I can show money

comes from abroad but in several wire transfers in the bank statement and bank book. Just need more

time to get stuff set up.

His "morons" attribution was referring to immigration, not "the Thais" in general.  Of course, not all immigration offices are the same, by any stretch.  Dealing with bad-offices is definitely unhealthy.

But even at the bad offices, I don't think the problem is that they "don't read" their own regulations - they simply don't care what they say, since no one will make them follow them as written.  They have free reign to "embellish" the requirements ad-infinitum.  And if they find a "useful" bit in the regulations - something they can use to deny service (sans-agent), for example - IOs at bad offices will eagerly quote that part.

Thanks, JackThompson. spot on, you explain it so much better than what I tried to do. My English sometimes is not the best and try write-in a balanced way when once life

getting changed in a very big and bad way and boiling inside is a bit hard. But life goes one. Tomorrow is a new day with new regulations and me (the real moron)

will try to adapt and do my best to follow them.
