It was rented, not her home.
You can still insure your belongings, even in a rented accommodation.

Can't be very good for these engines sucking in all that crap, and the reduced oxygen IMO could lead to loss of power or even total malfunction.
"Reduced oxygen"? Where was this stated?

I don't understand the logic in the complains about the Zero Dollar tours or now the EV investments. Assuming that all companies and service providers operate legally, then every local purchase will benefit the Thai economy as the companies have to be minimum 51% Thai owned.

I'm please to read that some one is taking action to restore the area to its former glory. It was an amazing place to visit and I'm sure many businesses in the surrounding areas benefitted. The area deserves to be kept "Alive".

Great to see someone understanding the power of "role models", and taking it on herself. Well done.

"The video drew negative comments from netizens who criticised the driver for overcharging the passenger and for not wearing a taxi driver uniform."
Is there a "Taxi driver uniform"? I've never seen one.

I find it impressive how quick the police jump on the case and get it solved. Seems to be done almost within 24 hours of the crime being reported. Well done boys and girls.

I see that police or rescue workers now wear clothing with Chinese on their jackets.
This organization, Poh Teck Tung , is based in Chinatown so makes sense.

"allegation by an online gambling web administrator"
I thought online gambling is illegal in Thailand. Or did I miss something here?

And how much "finder's fee" did the tourist pay the maid? Some token of appreciation would have been nice.

Not long ago I read that the residents of Koh Larn wanted to restrict the number of visitors to the island. Maybe the tourists listened?

You have that all along the beach, 5km of it. Why do you NEED it on the last km as well?
Yes, I do. I walk enough in Bangkok. Visiting Jomtien I want to relax and appreciate when the vendors come to me. If I want to enjoy emptiness, I go to one of the islands instead. Others might prefer it differently.
-
No vendors, and I don't go there. The beauty of Jomtien beach has been that you rent a chair for the day and have all the food and drinks you want by just waving a hand in the air. The perfect relaxation. I have never seen the vendors there as a nuisance.

If they now are very pleased with lower than expected accidents, which is a good sign, it would of course be interesting to know WHAT did they do different during these days compared with normal days. Finding the real cause to these better numbers.

The post is just an excerpt from the original article from Birminham Mail, linked in said post. In the full article, it's stated: "After the accident, his family and friends successfully raised money to pay for his medical bills in Thailand."
Yes, but that's irrelevant to my original comment.

Other reports have it as a suicide attempt and that he had zero insurance. Also being "trapped" in Thailand means to me that like many he had no insurance and owes the hospital. There is no indication in either article he had any insurance at all. So let's stick to facts and not speculation.
Yes, and the fact is that in this post it is clearly mentioned that the raised funds would be for flight to UK. No point to refer to other info outside this post.

I know a 69 year old retired foreigner that was vaccinated yesterday.
Under what quota was this foreigner vaccinated? It has already been announced that foreigners are included in some of the priority groups (health workers etc) that presently are being vaccinated.

Sad story but again another one "stranded" in Thailand, begging to get home. No medical insurance? Or not covered? Doesn't really say. Seems a lot of people who live overseas particularly in SEA have no real interest in their well being.
I can understand older people who just can't get insured which is rubbish and short term stayers who veer clear of travel insurance as there is so many things it doesn't cover but to live overseas and not have the best private health cover you can afford is insane. I don't know if that's the case here neither article provides much info about the accident or his hospital stay. Thankfully he is now with family and friends.
It says clearly that the funds raised are for the medical flight to UK, as he wanted a second opinion re amputation. This indicates that medical costs in Thailand were covered (by insurance or otherwise). But it seems that the insurance company would not cover cost for such flight as his country of residence apparently was Thailand. Sounds reasonable by all parties.

HELP! Did you Successful Guys also have to input the Number shown on the back of the Pink ID Card???? (my wife is telling me that is required - leaving it Blank has been unsuccessful, and it won't accept the number that is on the back - response is "details not correct")
Same here. The app requests a number on the back starting with 2 letters, which the Thai ID card has. The pink card I have seen has a number starting with only 1 letter, so is not accepted by the app.
