Hi,
I am staying in Bangkok on tourist visas around 7-8 months every year and want to get a motorbike and a driver's license here. I am from Estonia (EU) and Estonia has no embassy in Thailand. From reading the topics here, I also understand that getting a residence certificate from Chaengwattana cannot be done on a tourist visa. Would it be possible to get the certificate from another country's embassy and would the Land Transport Office accept it? Or is there any other way around it to get the certificate. As I understand, I would need 3 certificates -- to get a driver's license, to buy a motorbike, and to open a bank account? If anyone has any advice, it would be great, otherwise I guess I should just go to Changwattana and beg them to issue 3 certificates. Thanks.

Thank you! Yes, I have heard about the honorary consul, but did not think he would be able to give out such documents. I will give it a try and see what he says about this.
