As most people have said, Get a good Lawyer.
Also why not consider getting the good lawyer to create a company with both names on the title. The land doesnt belong to you as such, but belongs to the Company.
Yes you have to pay taxes but it is an investment also.
Let me know how things go. I'm very interested.

I was told that setting up a company for the purpose of a foreigner 'owning' property and land is actually illegal and although many foreigners have gone down this route in the past, it isn't advisable now

Not illegal at all. We just finished doing our yearly taxes, we were visited by the IRS to ensure the people that are registered here are the people on the company name, All is correct, yes there are many shifty lawyers that bypass the correct paperwork, But I can assure you I am and my wife are fully legal. here is a link if your interested a page from our site explaining the law when it comes to Thai ownership. http://www.siam-living.com/?page_id=497 We have the Blue book and all documentation in our company names.

  3. Hi people,

I'm in Pattaya and even though this question isn't directly referring to egg size, its the closest post I can find concerning eggs.

For the life of me, we cannot seem to find the good egg, as in the white protein part being firm and stay together when we crack them open.

We have tried all the major supermarkets and our local (Large outdoor market) and still cannot find that elusive egg, especially good for poaching.

I'm no eggs specialist by all means, but have come to the conclusion its the feed the chickens get that determines how firm the white (Protein) part will be.

we did think ... Ha Ha, that main chain super markets like Tesco, Big C and Metro would have properly controlled eggs, but still no luck.

I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find this elusive egg.

    Thanks.

  4. How much money does Korea invest in Thailand?

No idea but S Korea is an industrialised nation probably not stupid enough to invest much in Thailand, USA and Europe is more their preference.

I worked there for a year and would put their standards on a par with Japan.

This accident claim, if arbitrarily dismissed by Thai authorities will cost dearly.

I am still working here in S Korea and I find the people very Intellectual people and also very forgiving under normal situations, so I wish them luck on there long coming adventures in this matter. As most say, Its a good thing.

    Wishing them luck.

  5. Oh I get it, Ive been living in different parts of Asia for 12 year going on 13, and yes I know there is a load of crap all over, My thing was simply all I read is so negative, I get the feeling certain persons have had enough and feel nothing can do except bitch, maybe time if ya start getting so negative, time to leave for a while and see what its like back at home also. I also get frustrated many a time.

Maybe just me then ;) maybe this forum is only to have a bitch session to get out the frustrations.

  6. Really dudes,

I am always amazed at how negative people can be when hearing about how Thai gov wants to do something in the positive way. Why not just try to look at the good sides and be a bit more positive towards things. Gun control is a great step towards what most of us would like to consider a safe paradise to live. Stop bitching and support these ideas instead of shooting them down all the time.

  7. Bab C, Your dead right mate, Torrents are the way to go if your interested in Movies and TV Series and keeping up to date, Yeah maybe you have to wait 12hrs for the seeders to upload the latest EP but well worth it.

But I also want my Australian Network espeacially for the footy and want my ed stuff, History, Discovery channels, Nat Geo channles and News.

Would it be possible to get these in SAT as I used to live in China where sat was illegal ha ha, still managed to get the Philippines Dream Channels there. Is this possible in Pattaya?

Any info would be appreciated and can send email to me of choices or and post.

  8. For those who replied thanks for your thoughts appreciated.

Yeah shallow fun dives can also be fun dont always need to dive deep and dark. Diving in my books is what you make of it at times. (Yes SCUBA)

Eventually after settling in I and my Missus will start looking into somewhere where we can actually try something different. Start a man made reef ;)

    Cheers again for your comments

  9. Hi there, I know this is an old forum but was looking round some islands to do daily visiting on google earth and noticed the islands near the v=naval base do look like they could be nice to visit, my question noting that it was mentioned there are no overnight stays on these islands, but how about daily trips in your own tinny? Also one reason I am interested is to do some shallow fun diving there. Are there restrictions to go to and whatever on these islands, does anyone know?

    Thanks

  10. Hi folks,

I ran through this subject on the hoping to find a particular answer I was looking into. Ill be moving to Pattaya this year and was searching to see if I can grow a neem tree there on the idea of helping to repel Mosquito's a bit.

Seems all I found was about oils, but how about growing the plant itself?

Anyone knows where I may be able to buy one to pland or know if I can grow please let me know.

    Cheers all

  11. G'Day peoples,

New to the Forum as a member but have been reading many articles in the past, especially looking for the produce side of things, Ill be moving to Pattaya very very soon, (me and the Missus) and am now a bit confused about where to get quality imported meats from in Pattaya.

Are there any straight answers from anyone who like there meats for at home BBQ? Really looking forward to the move and first meal upon the move will be a BBQ with what I hope is great steaks.

Looking forward to any constructive answers.

Thanks for any replies and will continue reading and searching.

    Cheers all

  12. Hi all,

I suppose Im suppose to introduce myself here, Im very new to forum writing so please forgive my ignorance.

Anyways, here it goes. Myself and Defacto wife from Netherlands are moving to Pattaya, already started the house building and am looking forward to it very much.

Been working all over and have been in China the last 6.5 years and now in Korea, Oh buy the way Im an Aussie, hmmm (Sorry) ;) I know heaps ovem there.

Funny thing this, At the beginning I was wrapped about out decision to move after many years of trying to decide where we were going to live after many debates over Europe or OZ or Thailand and finally came up with Pattaya.

Most obvious reason was sick of the Burochracy the western countries have and just wanted a more layback way of living. Unfortunetly and I know your probably sick of hearing or reading about it, Just lately the last few days, I have to admit Im slightly concerned to what Ive been reading on the thai news about the crime.

Just hoping someone can clear my mind a bit and give me a wack across the head saying its really not that bad.

Yes I like a drink as much as the next man, Love playing pool, also luv veging in my own house, Yes I love women HA HA, but yes Im sticking with the one i have, Im a lucky man in that way.

So yeah pretty scrambled type of intro im sure, but Im also sure ya get the gist.

So Ill leave it at that and continue doing some reading and research and hope to catch up maybe online or whatever some time.

    Cheers

    Phill
