  1. The same exact thing happened to me just last month... i indicated to turn left, slowed to nearly a stop and began my turn. 3 girls, no helmets or driver's license passed me on the left. They hit me. All 3 pretty badly injured as they weren't wearing helmets and hit a telephone pole. CCTV showsI indicated. And... still my fault. I refused to sign the cops statement. Still had to pay... stupid <deleted> Thai ppl! All of them...

Thailand is still a third world country in many ways. People should remember this before making the choice to come here. In this day and age of information saturation, it is not hard to discover this before one comes here. Caveat emptor.

Look up the definition of "third world".... you clearly don't know what it means

All because Thailand is basically an inward looking country with a local superiority complex and an educational system that is in dire need of reforming due to consistently lagging behind it's local piers. However, dream on for change as too many vested interests and the Chinese-Thai elite will have none of it due to them needing an unquestioning slave class to provide cheap labour. Ironically, although people rightly complain about the education system here, it actually does a very good job regarding what it was really designed to do...which is controversial and archaic, working as intended.

Ditch the patronage system, enforce the law, allow critical and free thinking, stop the coups and and hose down the government stables with bleach so as to create a fairer society...and you might have some chance of that and a myriad of other things minister (yeah, right). I could go on, but it would be patronizing to TV members to do so.

Good luck! As much as I agree with every point you've made, it's a total waste of breath. The only thing keeping this place afloat is that people looking into traveling this far already know everywhere south of here is too muslim for comfort, and Burma and Cambodia are still totally <deleted>. Laos is nice, but a landlocked country... And equally <deleted> governmentally. Thailand will cruise along as long the other places stay down. Thais don't have to work hard. Why?

They can skate by doing barely anything. The people will still come. We did...

  4. I have been here for about 4 months and recently my employer was shut down for employing overstay and illegal immigrants. As it turns out, I am one of them. She guaranteed visa and work permit, I signed all the necessary documents I thought anyway), paid for the visa, but nothing was ever done with the money/documents. I am now overstayed, without a job and not receiving my last paycheck. I am scared and relatively alone. I am almost out of money, and I cannot find employment with an overstay visa. I don't have family in the States and I'm not sure what to do. Can someone please help me? I don't know what to do...

Please some advice would be great! A job would be better!
