  1. More money should be invested in the British Counsulate in Chiang Mai to give ex-pats a better service instead of wasting it on the British Council why reside next door to the Counsulate.

Wasting taxpayers money on these British Council education schemes and courses for Thais is ridiculous when British citizens are treated with contempt. Anyone who has to travel to Bangkok for these documentary services should claim traveling expences. Vote UKIP.

  2. I suspect many of the posters here claiming to be British are not. I can tell by the slip ups they make with the language. Is this bashing Britain week? Is Thaivisa anti-British? Are the posters ganging up on Britain? If so,why? If you ask me it is some deep rooted form of envy that stimulates at least 11 pages and 266 replies on Thai visa. I love Britain.

  3. Bannork.I dont believe you have every been to Britain. Its not like that at all.It is one of the most beautiful countries in the world.OK it rains sometimes but that is why the fields and meadows are so green and the English gardens are so fresh and colourful. You can keep your bush fires, earthquakes and volcanos and I will stick to the mountain streams and lovely villages in Britain.

Also,if Britain is as bad as you say,why are millions upon millions of people from all over the world desperately trying to get in?

  4. We get wonderful weather in Britain compared with the rest of the world. No hurricanes. No earthquakes. No Tsunamies. No bush or forest fires. No serious flooding. No avalanches. No serious disasters caused by the weather. No sandstorms.

The four seasons give us an ever changing variety which is much better than the never changing weather you get in Australia etc. It must be so boring. It always makes me laugh when people from the USA,Australia etc who have all these weather disasters criticise Britain at the mere sight of a few drops of rain.

Maybe,it is an outlet for the jealousy that is always there. Great Britain is truly great and it always will be.

  5. Although I agree as an Englishman, that Britain is being destroyed by this idiotic multi-culturism and millions of unwanted immigrants,I must say we have a great tradition and a great adventurist spirit that has enriched the world and made it a better place to live in.

All you Aussies etc.should remember it was you,yes you who went to Australia. My ancestors stayed in England and built the greatest empire the world has ever known.

I came to Thailand, like most men, because of the currency. It costs us less money to live here than our home countries. Its as simple as that. But I still yearn for the four seasons(Summer Autumn Winter and Spring) and the country lanes and green meadows. Dont forget when you flew to Thailand the plane was powered by a British invented jet engine and when you go home at night and switch on the television,it was invented by a British man

  6. These gullible men who buy Thai girls houses, cars etc. make things difficult for poorer men like myself. They expect these riches from everyone.

Mind you, I have never met a man who can prove he has given gifts like this. Maybe,it is all big talk. He has a few beers then boasts about his generosity. If he can prove it then he is a complete mug for being conned. What did Barnam the circus guy say? "There s one born every minute". Or could the girl be boasting and fibbing?Or maybe, the guy has been living in a log cabin in the Canadian rockies for the last 50 years and is completely naive.

  7. Whatever happened to womens lib. and equal rights for women worldwide? All Thai women should be told that if they are equal to men they should be equaly responsible for funding their marriage and everything else. Let us get up to date and see a Thai girl paying for her farangs food in a resturant and buying him a house or a car.....or do they only want equality when it is to their advantage?

  8. Just after the second world war in England my parents gave me a miniture battlefield for christmas...The season of peace and goodwill!

I remember christmas day because it was the only day of the year we could afford chicken. It was a great treat in those days. Most people could not afford it.

Still, they were very happy times and I look back with great affection.

  9. Of course I believe in Santa Claus.I hang my stocking by my bed and every time he comes down the chimney and fills it up with goodies.Santa Claus and Father Christmas, but where does Saint Nicolas come into this?

I love christmas but I hate the commercialisation of it.Does anyone know what price William Hill or Ladbrokes the Bookmakers are giving for a white christmas in Britain this year?....see what I mean.

  10. I was in a Supermarket in Bangkok when there was an almighty noise. The shelving had collapsed and there was food all over the floor.Luckily,no one was hurt. It seems to me the problem was the shelves were stacked far too high and not evenly. So be warned, when you enter one of these places look up and see if the shelves are stacked firmly and they look safe.It might save your life.

  11. The Chiang Mai Consulate is good but all the business has to be spoken through one of these security windows,so all the other customers in the room cannot help but hear what you are talking about. There is no privacy.

Great Britain is still GREAT in spite of a bunch of politicians who are trying to destroy it. Maybe the answer is to vote UKIP. That is if there is anyone left who has not been beheaded by then.
