  1. For my first condo, I got the body corporate to provide a letter of confirmation, signed, with a copy of the ID card of the person signing the letter. This worked for 2 years. Wife explained position to Immigration, of owner unwilling to provide documents. For my new condo, just a signed copy of owner's ID card was provided, which seemed to satisfy Immigration. Owner was also unwilling to give copy of blue book.

  2. I went to Chang Wattana for extension of stay (marriage) today, and submitted:

    - preprinted TM7 application form, with 6x4 photo glued thereon

    - copies of relevant pages of passport + copy of TM6 arrival card, and passport

    - 2 respective marriage documents [recently obtained KR 2 did not have a red stamp, as obtained from Rama 3 amphur office]

    - letter from bank showing Bt 400,000 for 2 months + statement from bank [I.O. also requested copies of my bank passbook]

    - copies of wife's ID + tabiaan baan entry

    - copies of childrens' entries in tabiaan baan + childrens' birth certificates

    - hand-drawn map to condo + 4 color photos of us - 2 inside and 2 outside condo - 2 inside also including children

    - lease agreement + copy of owner's ID

    - filled in 2 forms regarding penalties, etc for any possible overstays, etc. Wife also filled in a form.

    - paid Bt1,900.

In at 9 am (after visit to bank). Out 10.30am. Today everything went smoothly. Thanks to Thai Visa people for assistance, esp. Star members!

  3. I am going for my Non O marriage extension shortly at Chang Wattana, and have a few fiddly questions:

    - Presumably the double-sided TM7 application form can be printed on 2 pages and submitted as such?

    - I will try getting a bank letter a day before application, and on the day of application will draw say Bt100, update my bank book & copy it - hope this is acceptable?

    - I have a new small TM6 departure card in my passport - does this need copying on both sides?

    - All documents with the application need to be signed by my wife and/or myself?

Much appreciated for all assistance rendered in the past.

  4. I have one or two questions - this year I am changing from using monthly income from a company to Bt.400,000 in the bank method at Changwattana, as I have now retired from a company.

    1. I previously had to show copies of my tax return and work permit every year - would it be prudent to have copies of my cancelled work permit and last tax return on hand if requested - or not required?

    2. For the photos around house, can they be four loose photos or glued /stapled on A4 paper, or best printed on A4 paper?

    Grateful for any suggestions

  5. I have sometimes been asked for:

    Copies of my childrens' passports [biodata page] (if they have), and their entries in their mother's house registration blue book;

Copy of my apartment lease agreement and ID card copy (owner) and his house registration book [owner flatly refused to provide 2nd one]

Copy of receipt for staying in Thailand longer than 90 days.

  6. I have an extension of stay up to September 2018, it is stamped "Thai wife", based on company documents provided, such as tax payments made by the company, incorporation documents, etc i.e. not the Baht 400,000 method.

If I cancel my work permit in December 2017, does my extension of stay continue to September 2018?

If the extension of stay does continue without cancellation, can I change to the Bt400,000 method from end of September 2018?.

  7. Best option for medical is head to Bangchak BTS station, and go down to ground level, on RHS (if coming from OnNut). Clinic is almost where the escalator goes up to the BTS station. They charge an unbeatable Bt100 - remember to take your passport.

Then cross over to other other side, and either catch motorbike (20 - 25 Baht) or walk to the testing station.

In the vision test, I had great trouble aligning the 2 sticks,  and seeing peripheral colours from the side, but eventually was passed.

As stated before, if you have your IDP, passport & work permit,  just require copies of relevant pages  - I signed each copy to be sure. Went in at about 12.30, out at about 3pm. Was lucky that I managed to locate an application form from the desk (on left hand side) during lunch, when no assistance was available, wrote my name and telephone number at the top, and then headed to counter 9 during lunch.

  8. Thanks for the sound advice.

As I had a 60 day extension and a thirty day extension after that in 2013 (on the same visa), I won't be able to get a 60 extension, unless the Police Order/law was introduced in after 2013. Maybe only 30 day one will be allowed, and the day I apply (30 Sept.), could hand in the extension application.

My agent is going in to Immigration this week - I will let you know what transpires.

  9. My wife normally has to accompany me when I visit Immigration for my annual extension of stay on my work visa. Then she normally has to sign a form that she will not be able to attend when I pick up the extension which is granted a month later.

This year she is up for open heart surgery, and will be in ICU/1 - 2 months recuperating over the time I normally visit immigration.

    Anyone have any advice?

  10. yesterday I went for interview at CW and was asked for old Freedom to Marry certificate by immigration officer.

Slightly shocked, as i've been married 8 years. Been told to come back in 30 days to hear result of application, but I presume before then must try and get stamped copy from Amphur.

was also asked for copy of landlord's ID, which my wife said is not available, so she had to confirm that in writing on our lease agreement copy.

  11. ...letter of certification issued by the Embassy attesting that a person had not registered his marriage prior to marriage...

The above requirement is totally confusing - I got married 9 years ago, so do I have to go to the local Amphur and get an online copy of "affirmation to marry"? or do I go to Embassy and get a "certificate of no impediment" backdated 9 years, which I doubt embassy will do?

My original letter of impediment was handed to Amphur 9 years ago.

    Please advise.
