Hi All,
My water has been off for a while (going into 4th day today), need to have my tank filled - will be depleted sometime today I reckon.
I am in the Kathu area, does any have the contact details for a water supplier? Any help appreciated.

Black Africans have a bad reputation here for being involved in criminal activities, so why not mention that the seller in this case is white?White South African... I guess that means he wasn't black. What is the purpose of this headline? To distinguish between colour? I simply don't get it.
His color has nothing to do with this crime and neither does his national origins.
But a headline that reads "bloke arrested for selling drugs" doesn't really work does it?
That is true. Anything a little "exotic" will get a mention.
They would probably go off their nut for;
Cross dressing Malagasy man caught selling ice
85 year old Yemeni woman caught with 5 kgs of Meth...

He will probably say its the best 100 baht he ever spent.
Does he get a reduction to a B50 fine if he admits guilt and shows remorse?

Mostly tomorrow I think.
Avoid? Stay at home....?

Mate of mine has his approved...About a week ago. We are in Phuket.
I will be doing mine in June... so will see for myself soon enough.

Yeah, I do. Not because I think I was writing crap, or that I don't believe in what I am saying. I just tend to ask myself if I feel strongly enough about it to engage in a full on forum skirmish about it.
My very first thread was what I thought to be relatively innocuous. Got some real personal comments my way, was not really expecting it to get full on. Like I say, don't mind if it does, just need to feel strongly enough about it. Usually I don't.
If I can offer help or a report I will do so, but there are some really knowledgeable and well informed people here and often the information is here already.

As an African I have had to go into the office at Sadao along with fellow Africans and apparently Central Asians (maybe others, but that is my limited experience) since 2013 to show our money. Non-B, Non-O, Non-Ed whatever.....
So not new to us, at first the bus drivers were spotting the cash to people, but then immigration started notating the serial numbers from the bills....
Now it is just a way of extorting money from everyone, except us "undesirables" who ironically have the money on us...
What a joke....

So, after they announced he was 86'd (that's an American restaurant industry term for banned, or taken off the menu) he refused to leave. So, instead of calling the police and having him trespassed, their security beats him up. The club owners should be permanently banned from operating nightclubs. Self-help evictions are not acceptable in the hospitality industry.
I totally agree with you.
But, there is only one occasion where I have seen the police doing evicting and that was when the bouncers where outnumbered / out muscled. Otherwise I have always seen "self-evictions". I am speaking of various countries I have been to - not just Thailand.

The best beer (beer country) and is there a God, are two questions that cannot be answered as a matter of proof.
Of course that does not mean we shouldn't ask these questions.
Das Pilsener (German - Windhoek)
Erdinger (German)
Windhoek Lager (German - Windhoek)
Beer Lao (dark) (Laos)
My favourites in order, having said that it probably shows how little beer by variety I have drunk in my life.

Who the hell wants a car you cannot afford the services on......? Suppose you could sell it at a reduced amount...
Anyone willing to turn themselves into a convicted criminal to win a car at MASSIVE odds must be as thick as two short planks.

I see three douches and two mildly amused cops in this picture.

“or standing in the middle of the road without concern for traffic or drivers
Got to agree with this one... Came around the corner at BIS last weekend. Bride and groom in the road getting an angle on the trees I think. I was checking traffic from the main drag, so got a bit closer than I would have normally (not dangerously close), got major "stink-eye" from the bride and photographer! (Same nationality as this story)

I don't know if they have found a Russian volunteer, but they could certainly have done with one yesterday while I was there.
At least 3 Russian couples having GREAT difficulty understanding and being understood.

If your landlord completes the TM30, do you need to supply a lease agreement as well? Mine is on month to month and a bit of a mission for her to do another one.....

Just as a report back;
Went to the district office to ask for updated letter.....no problem.....did not even bat an eyelid.....5 minutes.....20 baht.......still gobsmacked......
Know I probably don't need it, but still nice to be surprised sometimes.

No extension of stay is based upon a visa. Yours apparently is based upon working.
For your wife's extension of stay as your dependent you will not need photos other than one for the TM7 application form. Normally all that is needed is your marriage certificate and copies of passport photo page and extension of stay stamp. Some offices will want a letter from employer stating you are still working for them.
Yes, I got a Non-B and an extension of stay through employment.
This is my argument to my employer, however they are insisting and now I have to get my marriage certificate letter from the District office "made new" - my wife and I are also married in Thailand (10 years ago).
Probably will do all this PT and when I get to immigration I will get it all thrown back at me. Oh well....

Extension of stay based on B obtained in Penang

That time of year to extend the visas.
I am on a Non-B with work permit.
Wife is on Non-O, she is a foreigner (we have a Thai marriage certificate from about 10 years ago)
Daughter is young and on a Ed visa.
Have been back for just over a year and about to renew our visas for the first time (on this "tour" of LoS).
My place of employment has indicated that I need all the stuff that Non-O candidates (ie. my friends married to Thai ladies) need, like pictures of the house and family, owner's house book, owner's ID card, rental contract etc. (I don't mind obviously, but don't want mission for no reason)
I have never had to submit this stuff before. Does that sound correct? All the HR people are new and I am not sure.....

Two countries where the truth can be really hard to find / assess. For different reasons of course.

Ridiculous title as well - 'Stip act'. Changing your shirt in the bathroom - <deleted>. At least she is trying to stay fresh.
Maybe this Thai lady will have the good fortune to sit next to me after my 20+ hour travels. I do brush my teeth, but tend to wait till I get home before changing etc.

Just wanting to get a ball park figure for replacing the electric fan behind the radiator on a Toyota Vios (2007).
It clearly has packed up and the aircon is not working above 1st setting and car overheats in heavy traffic.
The mechanic who has been recommended only uses Toyota genuine parts and has quoted me 5000 Baht. This includes doing the gas on the aircon.
Seems like a fair price to me....

My water pump also uses a fair bit. I have to switch it on at least 4 or 5 times a week as our water is switched off a lot.
Some months they don't do it and my bill goes down a few hundred.

What I find amazing is how PO'ed people get when they cheat on each other in this country - more than 50% are doing it....
Surely it leads the world in shooting your lover / spouse or vice-versa; cutting off his dick....

I have an acquaintance who worked consular assistance in Bangkok for a few years. She told me it was not unheard of to be called by a hotel who had a male in one of their rooms, feeling very groggy, passport, cash, cards, phone, CLOTHES, etc. gone.... naked as the day they were born not able to leave the room....
The thought I had was if you take a girl(s) to your room surely you secure your stuff.....hotel safe.....safety deposit box.....Granted the clothes might be tricky....but the rest....no excuse....
Basically thinking with your dick.....
Visa refusal in Africa without any reason
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
I was refused for a non b in SA once. However they gave me a reason and a double entry tourist visa. Sounds like the embassy there has the "when in Rome" mentality.
