I suspect you have done very little research so let me explain a few things - every thing I write here is FACT.
they said they can not stop is spreading - of course not - if there are 8 cases today and 10 tomorrow - it is spreading - if all 10 are in hospital getting treatment and then released = I would agree this is under control. they are not necessarily contradictory comments.
If people who are not educated on exactly what is going on continue to panic yes hospitals will get over crowded despite in most cases having almost ZERO chance to have the virus.
Canadian scientist have stated that only prolonged interaction in close quaters with an infected person are you likely to catch it.
To the best of my knowledge still only 2 people have contracted the virus outside of China - 1 a bus driver of chinese tourists 1 a german who had just spent 1 or 2 days with a colleague from China who sadly did not show any symptoms till after he left germany.
Avoid spending prolonged periods with any one who has just returned from China and the chances of getting infected are incredibly slim - with the information we currently have those are the facts.
stay safe every one but also stay calm.
Who deals with Chinese tourists in Thailand? Airport staff, Tour operators, bus drivers, hotel staff, tourists attractions and venues, shopping centers, cafes, markets, skytrain, taxis, banks and ATM, money changers ... to name just a few. So stay calm and be incredibly vigilant with your own hygiene eg wear masks and wash your hands a lot and maybe use some of that hand sanitizer. And try to avoid prolonged exposure at close quarters with people who have come in from China recently.
Any other suggestions?

I would be getting just a tad worried if I lived and worked in China. Escape hatches are closing....

Millenials are <deleted> each other and the incels that would be all over it are afraid or unable to travel to foreign shores.
those that have traditionally flocked to pattaya are ageing fast.
i have seen an increase this year of friends and friends of friends traveling this way. they are coming for islands like koh phangan, or doing wakepark tours of bkk and phuket. they are all 30-45 and are travelling for lifestyle and activities now and pattaya is not on the radar.
they want proper massages, good food, beaches, sunsets, hikes etc.
A good night out involves proper music, cocktails and dinner. Many are vegan, but all are willing to spend on food. the bars may be a curiosity but certainly not a priority.10 years ago, people i know might have had a few days in pattaya on the itinerary, but I cant think of a single visitor through my doors that has had plans to go to pattaya for something other than business in the last 5+ years
many things have changed. Pattaya really hasnt.
I totally agree, Pattaya is stuck in the past in terms of what it offers. I walked down 2nd Road last night and it looked old and tired and grubby. It stank of sewerage at several spots. Few trendy eateries or coffee shops and the markets were selling the same stuff as when I arrived 30 years ago. Charmless and not so cheap anymore.

In Thailand, road toll numbers are made up of those that die at the scene of the accident. There are a lot of victims who die on the way to or in hospital so the figure given is not accurate.

Did first ever TM30 reporting yesterday at Jomtien. Didn’t get to sit down, barely 5 minutes from beginning to end.

The motto for this year’s strategy is ‘Conscious, Discipline, Thoughtful: Safe Songkran while pass on the tradition’.
More like: Unconscious, undisciplined and no thought whatsoever. I am expecting another unsafe Songkran.

I read today that there are a couple of people being tested after entry at airports in Yangon and Ho Chi Minh so I think it is too optimistic to say that Thailand is or will be safe.

So Dolphin World says all their dolphins were rescued from beachings or nets? The fact they weren't returned to the sea and left to carry on their lives makes me think that they were 'rescued' and sold on. It is sad to see that attractions like Dolphin World are still flourishing. And the Sri Racha Tiger Zoo is disgusting.

So the real story is...? Local traders don't like competition?

ok, ive tried to google private schools in pattaya area. not much info. can anyone provide names of schools and prices per term ? please
There are several international schools in the Pattaya area: look up The Regents School, International School Eastern Seaboard (ISE), St Andrews International School (Green Valley campus), Garden International School, Ban Chang. They will all have an Admissions section which would supply you with up to date fees and enrollment information.
You have to google 'International schools' - just using 'private' won't work.

I'm so tired of the picking on foreigners in Thailand. From double pricing to blaming us for all sorts of ills - it is so tedious. And now we have Khun Achara, soon to be Editor of The Nation, starting the article with the dig that foreign executives have already left for a long Christmas break. Completely irrelevant to anything else written, a gross generalization and such bad journalism. I would expect better from an Editor.
