ADR's are American Depository Receipts, and Russian ADR's are all cancelled.

They will eventually be exchanged for the underlying Russian stock of that ADR, but that may take several months.

Russian stocks only can be sold, not bought.

Ok, but there are countries that have not boycotted Russian stocks, right? As far as I know Thailand has not participated in the boycotts.
Schwab told me that I can transfer the stocks to a broker who hasn't been forced to stop trading Russian securities.
Do you know of any Thailand brokers?
If not, maybe Singapore or Hong Kong?

The cold hard truth is that the bulk of the digital nomad movement is essentially 24 year olds in an entry level job that decide that is not the life that they see others living on Instagram.  The vast majority never make it past 24 months as a digital nomad.

For "real" digital nomads, the kinds that actually make enough income to warrant having a corporate entity in Panama or Gib, that's who the digital nomad visas should be aimed at.  Thailand and many other countries should be offering them tax advantaged opportunities to bring their business under Thai taxes and offering long-term visas as an enticement.

I agree that it is an overrated demographic

The digital nomad style is not for the faint-hearted. You have to constantly deal with the mundane logistics required to set up in a new country not to mention rebuild your social network . Only premier autists/libertarian types and perfect loners can maintain the lifestyle for very long.

Well start with electing a government and allowing the group or coalition of groups which gains the most seat and votes govern, as opposed to blatantly rigging the election to allow the Junta remain in power..,

The first is pretty progressive, the second pretty regressive.

Ok, a democratic form of government. Is this the main dispute? Are there others?

It is an excellent idea. With the regressive army in charge here, there is no doubt the nation is moving backwards. And there is no change in sight. There is segment of the youth here that are progressive, want change, and want society to move forward

What are the things that the "regressive" army wants to do and the things that the "progressive" youth want to do? Can you be clear about these differences. Thank you.

Hadn't read about that, are you sure? Pretty sure there was a couple of people on here going Elite when the visa options where limited.

Depends on your consulate. They told me this:

We are deeply sorry to inform you that Thailand Elite Members who are now allowed to come back to Thailand are those who already affixed Thailand Elite Visa in the passport. We need to humbly suggest you to contact the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General in the area that you are currently in, to check whether they can provide service to affix Thailand Elite Visa for you.

The reason is that the embassy in some countries may not be able to offer this service as they are now focusing on a repatriation scheme for Thai nationals. However, should the Thai Embassy in your area can provide service for you to affix our visa, we will be able to cooperate with them through the Ministry of foreign affairs to arrange an appointment for you.

If my memory isn't failing, I believe that's exactly what they did with the first iteration.

Well, if the losses were too great, they might have to do that. If they're close to breaking even, better to absorb the loss and price higher in the future. Hard to say without knowing their numbers and deals they have with various business partners like King Power.

Unfortunately, only members with the visa already affixed to the passport can currently enter. Can't enter with an electronic copy for now.

Best guess, they miscalculated the costs across all the packages (golf, spa, limo, medical, cooking, muay Thai, skimming off the top etc.).

Yep, I assume they don't foot the bill for the 10% shopping, hotel discounts. They might even get commission for those sales. But they are paying for the free golf, spa, limo, etc.
Obviously they were in the red at 100k/yr so they are increasing it 20%.
Sure they will lose some customers but face less expenses. This might make them profitable.
The alternative would be to reduce perks which would be difficult cause you couldn't retroactively do that for pre-existing members without harming your reputation.
So it looks like a smart, well-thought out price increase.

I think the embassy that one must use depends on the return address. I applied to the Thai consulate in Chicago from my parents' house in Michigan even though I am a Florida resident.

To complicate it, my state of residence will be different from state I want it mailed to. Plan to visit some relatives before exiting. Hope that's not a problem!

5 days soup to nuts for me.
I overnighted my passport and myriad documents on Thursday morning to the Thai consulate in Chicago and was very pleasantly surprised to get my passport with visa the following Tuesday. I was sent the COE by email about a week later.

Now on my 10th day of quarantine trying to keep my sanity.
By the way, in the instructions on the Thai embassy's website it is quite clearly written that 15 business days should be allowed for visa processing. Good luck.

What hotel are you staying? Would you recommend it?

I sent my visa application to the LA consulate two weeks ago but haven't heard back from them yet.  I've been doing the online application and when I went in to upload some docs I had to change my answer from "NO" for "Do you have a visa?" to "YES" because I got a popup message stating that my visa was approved.  Like I said, that was two weeks ago.  It used to be that you could call the consulate and actually speak to someone but that's been changed.  My schedule is getting tighter (flight is scheduled for end of the month) but not as tight as yours from the sounds of it.

Have you tried emailing them? They've emailed me in the past and sometimes actually respond to my questions.

    Two weeks, not good.
The website says to apply online first. How come you didn't do that?

Do they ask your passport!? Call there and ask what they really need! And ask schedule! They not prove yet nothing! They need original document's to proceed!

Yes, have to send passport for the stamp.

    1. Passport

    2. Two passport-size photographs (2″x 2″)

    3. Visa application form (Download) or attached file with this email (if applicant doesn’t have a valid Thai visa)

    4. Self-addressed return envelope and visa fee (Money order - $80 for single entry / $200 for multiple entries) if the applicant doesn’t have a valid visa

    5. Other required documents that you submitted through online application.

    That doesn't mean a lot.

Also it's not really clear what your doing.

Think you have another thread relates to entering Thailand. There are some excellent recent threads with guidelines to whole process, including obtaining COE and quarantine process and booking flights.

Couldn't find the answer in other threads.
I have to mail my passport along with other doc to the embassy in Washington DC to get the visa. They mail it back. Do you know how many days that takes?

    I have about 10 days.

I can confirm that. I recently arrived from Manila and needed to commit financially to the flight, ASQ, and produce evidence of insurance before they would process the visa application (and Certificate of Entry). Then needed a fit to fly certificate (relatively easy) and a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of flight departure (more difficult) to submit to the embassy at 3pm the day before the morning flight. Very stressful, to say the least.

Was it hard to get a COVID test with quick results?
Probably much easier to get a "fit to fly" certificate in Manila than in the US. Suppose you have to schedule a visit with a doctor and pay him $200 or something to check your blood pressure.
