  1. I know a very nice and clean resort little bit outside Pattaya close to the lake, drive to the beach maybe 10 min but have a nice pool too. The WEB is hold în German but certain you will guess tha navigation. There are different appartments and bungalow, certain out of season you can negotiate, regular price is between 800 - 1200 THB - http://www.swiss-sabai.ch/resort/resort/apartments.html and here you get the map http://www.swiss-sabai.ch/resort/resort/anfahrt.html

This place looks really nice will check that place out when i stay for a month,i use google chrome and it translates the website.

    Thanks.

  2. Hi DMAX

I to will be with the missus and kid for my next trip so fancy naklua as it is a bit quiter and wong amat beach is not far away try www.viewtalayplace.com it says on there website 900 or 1000 for a room.

But on agoda.com it is 600 or 700 a room i will book through agoda for my next trip.

The 600 room has city view and the 700 room has a pool view.

http://www.agoda.com/asia/thailand/pattaya...lace_hotel.html the pool is nice to relax around and i am looking forward to teaching my son to swim, you should have the pool pretty much to yourself.

Just realised there is hidden tax to go on that so it is more like 750 a night but still a bargain imo

  3. Iv checked flights and the cheapest i can find is €929 china air

    Ttravel 17thDec to 14 Jan06 + flight from Ireland €157  =€ 1086

Anyone know of anything cheaper and not from UK from Europe IE AMS, Paris, frankfurt.

Or would it be cheaper to buy single to bkk and book  return from bkk

Are you wanted by uk authorities :o or is it just you dont like heathrow?

I done a search on opodo for your dates form paris the price is 874 but this is with emirates so a stop in dubai might not take your fancy, but if saving money is your priority and if you can leave a day earlier you can fly with gulfair for 716 euros the stop over times in bahrain are not that bad compared to departures from the uk with gulf,2hrs40mins outbound and a 3hr45mins wait on return.Good luck.EDIT there is a recent thread here for some insight into gulf air.

  4. Anybody know who has the best fares from BKK to LHR at the moment. I want to go back first week October for 10 days or so.Best price non-stop through Opodo, (and I would prefer non-stop )is 638 pounds British Airways?

    Cheers

    TP

TP - just found this with Travelocity:

    1 adult Total: GBP 447.90

Flight: Qantas Airways flight 2 on a Boeing 747 Jet

Depart: London Heathrow, UK (LHR) - Thu, 06 Oct 22:15

Arrive: Bangkok, Thailand (BKK) - Fri, 07 Oct 15:35

Flight: Qantas Airways flight 301 operated by British Airways on Boeing 747 Jet

Depart: Bangkok, Thailand (BKK) - Tue, 18 Oct 23:10

Arrive: London Heathrow, UK (LHR) - Wed, 19 Oct 05:20

    Try it yourself at:

    http://res.travelocity.co.uk/lognlogin.ctl...811961126192555

and use the "My dates are flexible" option - it'll show you what flights are available at a given price and when.

    Good luck :D

Hi steve tp said bkk to lhr but on reading it again tp uses opodo and qoutes sterling

:o for your next trip steve try southalltravel.co.uk for them same dates qatar are 414 all in.

Not all the time but for most dates southall is always cheaper than airlinenetwork opodo etc. Also check dialaflight.com i have just booked with them for my next trip with malaysia air for 464 all in with airlinenetwork etc wanting over 700 pound Good luck.

thai pauly try saveflights.com eva showing 524 pounds with ba a bit dearer good luck

  6. Hi i would never fly ba or klm again, imo thai are so much better with a better seat pitch and better service.

You say you are flying from manchester, thai air want 750 from manchester to bkk via heathrow(imo a terrible airport) with the likes of ebookers but you can fly with swiss air for 520 all in and depending on which flight you book you can fly with a thai plane and crew from zurich to bkk and bkk to zurich and the connection times are good. Here is a qoute from southalltravel.co.uk the thai flight numbers are 4300 and 4301, thai air for 520 from manchester imo is a bargain.

If you have only made a provisional booking i would cancel klm and go with swiss/thai good luck.

  7. I have never flown but have taken the bus and train imo the train is the way to go.

2nd class aircon is ok but first class is excelent you get a decent size bed on the bottom which is adequate for a bunk up :D and then if you want to sleep there is a smaller bunk up top for your companion.

If your time is limited in thailand then flying is the way to go but i go for 3 to 4 months so iam in no rush and find the train to be very comfortable and takes in some nice scenery along the way.I have never found it unpleasant (unlike the bus) and with airconditioning never found it hot :D If you decide to take the train go at least 2nd class air con or first class its only a few pound more.

The last bus i took to buriam was at night, the aircon was on full blast and it was freezing.I asked the hostess if the driver could turn the aircon down or off as it was freezing. To which she replied she has to leave it on for the other customers, even she must have noticed everyone wrapped in there blankets, some even had hats and gloves on then everyone started to block the vents with tissues which helped. Maybe it is because you have paid for aircon so you will have it,or if you ask to turn the air con off you will look stupid for paying for aircon when a fan bus would of done :o thats why i love thailand so different in many ways to home.

There is another bus service called nakon thai air (SC) which has less seats than the blue vip buses and the seats are even more comfy than vip,you also get more drinks and sandwiches. For just a few baht more it is worth it if you want to take the bus, especially to the likes of changmai.

  8. Veerachai Court is on Thapae soi 2 and has various rooms available in different blocks. Newest is the best but is 6,500...no cooking. A newer appartment complex with gorgeous pool is just out of town on Thanon Nimmanhemin. It's Baan Thai and is only 4,800 per month and superb views of Doi Suthep if you get on that side. No cooking facilities but you could buy an electric cooker for around 5/600 baht and there are loads of restaurants around there catering for the student population. They both have satellite and obviously tvs, fridges etc. but Baan Thai are talking about doing wireless internet to rooms and they have a better selection of satellite channels. Out of the two, I'd go for Baan Thai as it's really new, in a good location (decent area) and the pool is great. Sawngthaews into the city are 10 baht.

    Veerachai Court - 053251047

    Baan Thai - 053219000

Month deposit for Veerachai or 650 baht per night for new rooms and unfortunately about 2 months for Baan Thai.

Many other places around town such as Hillside and Lanna 3, but they are expensive for the former and full for the latter. Pretty sure Baan Thai have rooms now.

Jackr (or anyone else who knows) - do you know if Baan Thai have a fax number or e-mail address? Would like to contact them from UK in advance of returning to CM for a June visit.

    Thanks in advance :o

    Hi Steve,

There are two blocks, block A and B. Block B is the one with the good views of doi suthep if you get on the right side.

    A

    tel - 053227227

    fax - 053227030

    B

    tel - 053219000

    fax - 053227100

They've just fired up the wireless broadband running at about 256 kbps for about 800 baht per month unlimited.

    cheers

Thanks very much jackr - also appreciate the extra info about which block to go for and great news about the internet!

http://www.thaihotels.com/hotels/details.aspx?hid=1186 the bahn thai looks a nice place from the photos here and at a reasonable price thanks jackyr will check this place out.

  9. All the best spuds iam hoping to get married on my next trip.My head was all over the place, you hear all the storys about people having a nightmare regarding visas.I pmed scouser as i seen he knows his stuff and helps people here no end and told him my particular circumstances. When i asked on another forum i was mainly flamed :o but scouser made me feel a whole lot better with sound advice, although i no it will not be plain sailing it will be a whole lot easier with people like scouser around once again good luck.

  10. I am thinking of ordering from japan for 250 dollars.I have heard that the european versions have problems with the screen.I remember the super nintendo was 20 percent slower than the japanese version called super famicom so it would not surprise me that when bought in europe the quality is not the same.Aparantly if you buy the japanese version, you can buy games any where and they will work there is no need for them to be chipped.

  11. A couple of fitness fanatic friends got a month membership at the hotel shaped like a boat(forget name) on soi 3.I think they paid 2000 for a month but can get on a daily basis, they were impressed and said the gym was top draw as well good luck.
