  1. Hi folks, I am a bit confused, there used to be, (many moons ago) lots of info on the VFS site, not now.  You used to walk in to VFS with page after page filled out, I see no reference to it on the link below. Looks like VFS is a biometric collection place now, is that all they do?  On the link below, no info re tourist visa for a Thai to Oz.  So what do they do, where to start?

On the VFS site, they have "BUY SERVICES" and for 480baht Online Visa Services, which they describe below in this post, (for reference for people reading this years later !)

    https://visa.vfsglobal.com/tha/en/aus/apply-visa

Do Thai need a medical to go to Oz for a tourist visa now ? Insurance I get, but a medical for tourist? (Surely that a misinterpretation of what I read).

    Thanks, where does one start?

"VFS Global’s Online Visa Assist service provides you expert, personalised assistance with completing, submitting and paying for your online application at the Biometric Collection Centre, all at one go! This service includes assistance with scanning and uploading all supporting documents. You can also enjoy the exclusive benefit of staying updated on the status of your application through the online portal from the comfort of your home.

Online Visa Assist service is available for a fee (per application) and will include upload of any subsequent documents as per the request of the Australian High Commission/Embassy only.

Please note, applicants are requested to carry their International Debit/Credit Card as visa fee payments for online applications can only be made in Australian Dollars."

  2. As on Monday 11 Oct 2021, in Australia, for the immune compromised, well it list very detailed, only people on Chemo (or recently), Organ Transplant in the last 4 years, Renal Dialysis and some very rare auto immune conditions, to get 3 initial shots, those who got AZ, the 3rd must be Pfizer or Moderna, and the others must get Pfizer. (3 to be the same, Moderna has not been here long enough at this stage for these folks to be 2 shots up yet.  Basically for simplicity I believe. )      In 9 months time, your AZ will be around half as effective as 3 weeks after your 2nd AZ shot, I would go it personally, but I suggest you seek highly qualified professional advice.

  3. Apparently with the Gov Hospitals they are being rationed, and requiring only 15 per months at 150b each.

Do you have a link to the cheaper Chinese ones please. Are they heaps more difficult?

Thinking of getting some for a inlaw to try and get some delivered  bi-monthly.

  4. Subject kind of says it all !

We have decided to permanently live out of LOS and just visit after Covid. A vacant block my wife owns she wants to get rid of and it would pay towards a place in farang land pretty much.

She whacked a ad up recently, (it's for a Thai market) and had a lot of interest, looks like it will sell.

Chanote is with her in Farang Land, while getting to Thailand is not that hard, returning will be a nightmare.

I read about a decade ago that there was a way to do the paperwork with a Rep (friend/family) on your behalf.

Can get to a Thai Consolute here, but not the Embassy due covid quarantines.

    Thanks.

  5. Get Aussie Passport, Loose your Thai house and Thai Citizenship, says Thai Gov .
Thai Embasey in Oz is really badgering folks to give them heaps of personal details.  There was Gov talk several years ago of abandoning this Racist Law, also as many "Rich" Thais were also effected.

Sure you (the person) enter/leaves Thailand on a Thai Passport, you need to flash a valid Oz one (or a visa) at check in often.
There is going to be alot of tension when it fires up in the South China Sea, potential putting Thai and some countries into allies issues too that could fire up laws like below. Please read below.

"Section 22 of the Nationality Act states: 'A person of Thai nationality who has been naturalized as an alien, or who has renounced Thai nationality, or whose Thai nationality has been revoked, shall lose Thai nationality.” So, according to the strict interpretation and enforcement of this law, any Thai person (man or woman) who marries a foreign national and acquires her husband’s citizenship has technically lost her Thai citizenship. It is important to note that she would need to inform the Thai government of this change for it to be enforced. Should the marriage end in death or divorce the Thai national could then regain Thai citizenship."

  6. I see in the news a lot a gentleman called "Big Joke".

Clearly that is not an English name, or I would wet my self if it is, what does it mean in Thai?

"Joke" being a breakfast rice porridge ? Big Breakfast ?

    Whats it'z mean ?

  7. The cash cow are the premium seat, (biz class etc), every man and his soi dog who hold any rank in the Gov or Military get passes and these are confirmed, not standby filling extra seats on THAI and the fill up the premium seats with these with no revenue.  There was an article a few years ago where on some routes, some 80% of Biz seats on THAI were FOC.

We recently bought a ticket from Oz to BKK, $702 on Qantas/EK (Full service with 30kg) or $1280 on TG.
