1. Books are not dutiable in Thailand. I have bought many from Amazon and in significant quantity, with no duty.
2. You should compare the total price from Amazon vs the total price from Book Depository. When I have done that in the past, they ended up being pretty similar in price. Indeed, I believe Book Depository is owned by Amazon. There may be some differences in specific books.

Phuket Immigration Office January, no letter, no fee, 40 minutes to transfer extension of stay to new passport.

My (former) wife had a UK ROA stamp in her passport based on patriality (British grandparents). Whenever she got a new (NZ) passport, she simply took it to the UK embassy or consulate and had a new ROA stamp placed in it. Was a straight forward process.

Thanks for the answers guys.
I am here on an extension to stay based on work so Ubonjoe, I assume that simply requires a change in reason to stay from work to retirement?
My question re PR was a separate one from the retirement extension issue. -
Gents, would very much appreciate advice on changing permission to stay status from work (Non Imm B extensions with work permit) to retirement.
1. Do the retirement funds need to be seeded for 2 months (given it's a first time retirement extension) or for 3 months?
2. Given the seeded funds in my account arise from employment in Thailand, do I need a letter from the bank attesting to them coming from overseas - when obviously they were earned in Thailand?3. I plan to submit an application for Permanent Residence based upon work before I change my status from non Imm B extension to Non Imm O-A. Can the application be submitted to local Immigration (Phuket in this case) or does it need to go to Bangkok?
Thank you very much for your help.

What part of the country are you in Bruce?
-
I was referring to the OP's reference to flying into another country.
-
This can be done.
-
You have to be working for 3 years prior to submitting the application and until citizenship is granted.
I think you would have be married for the 3 years prior to application.
Thank you Ubonjoe
-
Your post is not totally correct.
If you are married to a Thai or have a Thai child you do not have to get permanent residency before a applying for citizenship.
You don't pay for a residence certificate until your application is approved. Only the 7600 baht fee for the application is lost if not approved.
Ubonjoe, do you need to be actually working here when you apply for citizenship or could you have been working here for the requisite period but now be retired here? Secondly, is there any minimum period to be married to a Thai in order to apply for citizenship (and therefore avoiding the PR process)? Many thanks for your advice.

Never buy anything you can't walk into, feel, and touch. There is a condo project near me that has been abandoned for 5 years, except for the soi (condo) dogs that now live there. The website is still up and running with beautiful, scantily clad women swimming in the pool that is now a cesspool.
i bought several houses from Land and House off-plan never had any problems just property gain when they finished =)
i think your quote is suited for small developers..
Land and House have a good reputation in Thailand.

LOL. Any competent doctor is capable of asking his own questions, conducting tests and drawing his own conclusions. OP, seriously, see a doctor. There are so many possible causes for the symptoms you describe and you will not obtain any relief from the Dr House wannabes on this forum.Consulting TVF members about medical issues on this venue is fine. It helps many get a better handle on what is going on ... Many if not most of these Help Discussion prompt the OP to get to a doctor as the posted opinions help paint the picture of the seriousness of the situation. And - with a series of opinions given the OP may well get a better idea on how to describe what he is experiencing and be better able to relate it to the doctor.
Except in dire life threatening emergencies there is no harm and a lot of good of being informed by others for the reason have described. There are many websites that do the same thing - such as WebMD.com
Sometimes the seriousness of the situation is brought to light from comments by others. Back in our home countries with a much larger group of friends and families to talk with - the same thing happens there as it has done for centuries - people get feedback from others. Here is Thailand many Expats are quite limited in the ability to get feedback - information that often turns on the light bulb of what to do - as they had been able to do in the home country.
And NO any number of Thai doctors do not perform a proper history and workup of signs, symptoms and other ailments associated with the medical event that people like OP have incurred. Thankfully - some Thai doctors are capable - but often one never knows at first whether is capable or not and only finds out after a series of roundabouts and wasted time.
Lastly - most posts made here on this thread to the OP went like this - Here is what you're dealing with and here is what is could be - BUT you should see a doctor soon ... And it is OP's right and choice to ask for opinion about his disorder - not for others to attempt to shut it down.
No qualified medical professional would offer advice on a specific medical condition without physically examining the patient. If you're silly enough to take advice from unqualified people on or offline, go for your life.

You might be better advised to consult a medical doctor. They don't normally diagnose through social media.

Premium on my policy is the same. The personal liability component is bundled with the house & contents, whether you want it or not.
-
I'm not sure whether it's common or not but I have personal liability cover as part of my house and contents policy with AIG. I didn't request it, it's part of the policy which maybe implies that liability cover is common.

I attended a business dinner a few years ago. At my table sat Nicolas Soames, Tory MP for mid-Sussex, former Government Minister and grandson of Sir Winston Churchill.
At that dinner he related a story about his grandfather when he, Nicholas, was a small boy.
Apparently Sir Winston did a lot of his work propped up in bed. On one occasion the young Nicholas went into his grandfather's bedroom and asked "Grandpa, Grandpa, is it true what other people say, that you are the greatest living Englishman?" Sir Winston peered at the boy over the top of his reading glasses and replied, "Yes it is. Now bugger off".
It was a nice story. Nicholas Soames is a bit of an 'upper class' twit, but entertaining enough so long as not responsible for anything serious.

If cars entering the roundabout had right of way then the roundabout would jam pretty quickly if vehicles were entering from every side. Oh wait....

I cannot point you to a specific regulation and doubt there is one, but I do this all the time; enter Thailand on one passport and go from Thailand to UK on another.

I am alright with the color vision test. What I don't get is why it needs to be repeated. Color blindness is a genetic trait. If you pass the test once, you should be good forever, unfortunately, the Thais don't understand that. Perhaps they believe you can "catch" color blindness from others.
Unfortunately color vision can change over time due to certain illnesses or old age, hence the retesting.

If you think Nighty Night is dark, then watch Julia Davis in Sally4Ever. Very black humour. There were 2 scenes so disgusting that I had to turn away, but it is funny.
