Only in Thailand. Can't be charged with murder because he doesn't answer an sms.
Why on earth aren't a couple of Thailands finest sent around to his house to pick him up?
May I suggest it might be too much like commonsense, too hard to organise and too much like hard work ?

How many actual refugees has Thailand accepted over the years in comparison with other 'foreign' countries?
Just more nonsense from a Thai in uniform.
Refugee Burden ? According to Yingluck they might be heading south to take part in the violence when they should actually stay north to be exploited by her pals in parliament, don't they know their place ?

So when exactly will Thaksin be charged with the more than 2000 extra-judicial killings (murders) during his time in office?
This is just so much bull that it becomes a joke - these people aren't children, but they behave like a spoilt five year old...actually that's an insult to the intelligence of a five year old...sorry!
No need to be sorry on this one. The childishness behind it all is outstanding.
It makes me want to cry when I see the antics of these low life's who are supposed to be looking out for the welfare of the nation.
Nice one. We all know they are only looking out for themselves, family, cronies and those they owe. TIT

"a Danish man named Mustafa Rahmi Bildirir"
Yeah, OK, I know.
I thought it was a white skinned man from the middle east with three heads and walked with a LISP 1 What's next ?

BBC' travel programme "Fast Track" has reported on the Thai situation highlighting that 3 embassies have issued warnings about Phuket, the scams etc. Wonder how they will report this ? All good publicity that will increase tourism, if you believe the Ministry of Propaganda that is

oh well they said it ..no helmet ...... I wonder if sometime Thais think that helmet is only for decoration ...government should teach their people how important it is ..... or maybe some thais believe nothing can kill them . We ofter see full family on motorbike, with kids etc ....of course no helmets ... just one question : how many people should die before government takes serious action about road safety here ?
Helmets do not protect you against a broken neck.
Besides it's not up to the governments, but up to the people themselves to be careful. jmo.
One of my neighbours, a farang, takes / collects his two children from school on weekdays, he wears a helmet that makes him look like Darth Vader but the children wear nothing. On the days his Thai wife does the run she just gets on with it, no Darth look for her, probably spoil her new hairdo

You have one day to be born and one day to die and you can do nothing to influence either is the mindset of many.
Fate, Karma, all part of Buddhist philosophy

Evidently the good minister has never visited Esaan.
Or Phuket
Will Chalerm be in charge of enforcement ?

"Education Minister Phongthep Thepkanjana promised yesterday that he would not let politics interfere with the improvement of education..."
It's amazing that in almost every country it is the politicians who promise that politics won't interfere with government programs. This is a universal joke
Yes and the school band played "Believe It If You Like"

Hey, it's progress.
10 years ago, this would, I venture, never have come out at all.
and in 20 years people like that might actually face justice ! No, what am i saying this is T......d

Obviously he is important enough o have the pictures altered so nobody can recognize him. You don't see that at other not yet sentenced criminals.
And he is probably right that nobody can touch him.. just think of the Red bull guy... its awfully quiet.
like so many "high profile" cases here, big coverage in the media, the "perp" walk then silence. remember the young girl who took out a mini bus with uni staff on board and was pictured texting at the scene, whatever happened ? Oh I forgot, she had a "family name".

I can understand the mentality but not the execution. Isn't there enough paper work already in the Thai bureaucracy?
keeps pen pushers in a job, makes departments bigger and the top people seem important. A sort of Peter Principle, Thai style

will this include the free sim cards given away at airports etc?
some years back True sent me a free SIM because I am a Platinum member but it didn't work. The next time I went to pay my TV bill I asked about it and was told they would activate when I showed my work permit, I'm retired and you don't need a work permit for that not even here. The lady in the office was adamant, no work permit no activation. TIT

Far too many clowns hiding behind uniforms....
Conduct contrary to good order and military discipline. Discipline ? Forgot TIT

The Hippocratic Oath starts with "first do no harm" in Thailand it's "first do nothing without cash, preferably up front"

Hard to have confidence in a country with regular Army coups, mafia police force, crooked politicians, invisible hand running things,, politicized courts, gunning down democratic protesters, storming airports and instigating a war with Cambodia.
Do not forget burning its capital , holding its capital hostage for months, pouring blood over the Parliament House and rebuilding Parliament House to bring good luck
Respecting election results would have avoided all that.
and i always thought self control and common sense was the key
It's Thai culture and the "Thai way" !

However the Ministry of Propaganda asures tourism is on the rise and if the Thai govt says it who are we mere mortals, especially farang, to disagree ?

Nice!
Only 2,000 ! Cheapskate, whatever happened to Thai "CULTURE" ?

It takes someone from this newspaper to make the news.
In quite a few newspapers and TV news reports.
What colour shirt was he wearing ?

Amazing. Say ing something is enough to get the army to rally.
What about following orders, discipline, rank, order. Who the hell allowed these idiots to do this? Are these men soldiers?
Call them soldiers, protesting like this they are acting like *******
I am not going to say anything, cuz they might come visit me. What a bunch of *******
A disclipined organistaion ? they are acting like their politicians

Very surprised this has not happened more often.
I have a condo down in Jomtien and there are No buoys placed and motor boats always very close to the shoreline where people swim.
Many years ago during a beach football competition a certain Eric Cantona hit a teenager on his jet ski and threatened to pull out of the tournament if too much was made of it. If I remember correctly the organisers said "go ahead". Like the big bikes available on Beach Rd anyone can have them if the folding stuff is available

He also needs a new, shortly-cropped hair-cut. That might instil remebrance of good ethics and learning from his childhood days.Chalerm Denies Being Drunk During Malaysia Trip
If you say so, Deputy Prime Minister Pheu Thai Party MP Police Captain Chalerm... Have another...

It is clearly visible from the picture what a fool Chalerm made of himself at that meeting.
I have such an idea that he must have made quite a scene right there and then, as the readings on the other guests faces are those of disgust and deride.
A school tie wouldn't go amiss, also.
-mel.
and in a Moslem country too. Little wonder the south is in revolt, not against Thailand, against him
-
He would have more credibility if he denied being sober.
As someone who has had a tipple or several over the decades the photos said it all. Maybe only Thai cameras lie ?

Believe me, gl55, I know what I posted was nothing new, but it just makes me so angry, you know? And two years ago, yeah there were Red Shirt apologists on here, but I'm not so sure if there are any left? Are there? If so, then after all this time, you'd think they would have learned something. But alas, we aren't all that progressive are we? **See above vid***
Yeah I get you. This video pisses me off too. The animals are in power now and they won't prosecute one of their own but they'll happily persecute their enemies.
As for the red apologists, yeah they're still here. Just let this thread grow and they'll all start crawling out to defend their beloved brothers!
I seem to remember someone on the platform talking about "everyone bringing a half litre of galsoline" and "leaving Bangkok in flames" but of course that's different. TIT

The govt claims to already be investigating claims that military personnel from Internal Security Operations Command (Isoc) are involved but what's the bet there will be "insufficient evidence" to identify anyone or even confirm the wrongdoing actually happened. It wouldn't be the first time
