  1. I arrived at suvarnabhumi yesterday, after a 10 day holiday in Vietnam, incredibly nervous having read the scaremongering on this forum!

I have been living here on 90 day extensions of an education visa for over 18 months & after reading various posts on thaivisaforum was prepared to be questioned & refused entry if my thai wasn't good enough (I am a genuine student however put me on the spot in front of an immigration officer who has complete control over my fate & I'm pretty sure I would panic & forget everything I've learnt!)

I walked up to the desk nervous as hell & the IO didn't say a single word to me, flicked through my passport as usual, stamped my re-entry permit as used & stamped me into the country. No issues whatsoever, not one single word was exchanged!

It makes me really angry that people have nothing better to do than make up stories on here just to scare people & cause unnecessary panic. My advice to genuine students would be please do not pay any attention to what these scaremongers write. Based on my experience I would say if you have followed the correct procedures (valid reentry permit & extension) there is no reason why you should have any issues when re-entering the country.

  2. I currently have an Education Visa to study Thai language therefore have to extend it at immigration every 90 days. I am due to travel back to the UK on 7th April returning to Bangkok on 22nd of April. I have worked out that my visa will be due to expire on 24th April.

My question is, how far in advance can I renew the visa? Is this something I can do before flying back to the UK on the 7th & if not will immigration let me back in the country with only a day or two left before my visa expires?

Really appreciate advice anyone can give me on this.

  3. Hi all,

I would like to register on a 1-2 year Thai language course & from reading various forums I am now trying to decide between Language Express & Pro Language both in Bangkok.

I want to join a school that will enable me to obtain an educational visa, hopefully via a straight forward process but also I am very keen to improve my Thai language skills which currently are non existent! Therefore the standard of teaching needs to be good & not just a school that runs for visa purposes (as I've heard there are many!)

Does anyone have experience of attending either of these schools & applying for educational visa & which would you recommend?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. I am looking for some advice with regards to visa options enabling me to remain in Thailand until November 2014 if possible.

My partner (not married) has been granted a visa & work permit until November 2014 & we were informed by his company that I would be able to get a dependants visa enabling me to accompany him. However after sending all documents to the Thai embassy in the UK we were informed one week before we left the UK that my visa had been rejected! Having quit my job & rented out our house I was left with no choice but to come to Bangkok on a 60 day single entry tourist visa, not ideal! Having been told by my partners company 'it's ok we'll do everything we can to sort it' we have now been told actually we're not sure what to do now sorry!

So having been told time and time again they'll sort it I am now left in a position where I have absolutely no idea what my options are & no idea how easy or risky it is to keep renewing my tourist visa & have quite frankly lost faith in the company & am trying to resolve the issue on my own.

If anyone out there has been through a similar issue or is in the same situation as myself I would be incredibly grateful for any advice you can offer me as currently I am finding it very difficult to get any facts about what is or isn't possible!

    Thank you in advance.
