  1. Unfortunately, the parents will never find out the truth, but is good to see that at least they are pushing for it. Better than parents of kids slaughtered on that god-forsaken island who claim to be satisfied with the official version that screams, "Stitchup, coverup, liar, liar, pants on fire!" right into your face!

Wouldn't be very surprised if the murderers of that unfortunate boy are the same as Hannah's and David's. Motive here is similar - the boy was in love with the girlfriend of a (surprise, surprise!) son of a Koh Tao mafia kingpin (who could it be, hhhhmmm, let me think, who could it be? where did I hear that phrase again ????) and paid the ultimate price for it. His face was beaten in, and he was found dead in the water... Does that ring a bell?

I hope Koh Tao will go down and that - somehow, some day - a natural or man made disaster will punish the cowards on that cesspit of an island, the ones who murdered, the ones who helped to cover up the crimes, and the spineless creatures who saw what happened but decided to keep their mouths shut.

Anyone on that turd(le) island knows that you gonna die if you step on the feet of the wrong people, or that at least your business will go up in flames. It seems to be generally accepted. I can't get my head around it that people wanna live and work or retire there. What idiot would opt for a violent prison as a home if he could live in a nice little town whithout mafia structures and fear?

"Wouldn't be very surprised if the murderers of that unfortunate boy..." You have no idea if he was murdered.

"Motive here is similar" no idea about this neither.

You made this up: "the boy was in love with the girlfriend of a (surprise, surprise!) son of a Koh Tao mafia kingpin"

You also made this up: "His face was beaten in"

Then, based on your make believe arguments you want to see the people on the island punished.

They already are. The place is dead, (no pun intended) nobody is visiting there.

  2. I see the internet warriors are still in full force. I too am fed up with everyone thinking that they know better, or that they could have done a better job. It is so unbecoming and ugly. The very fact that the media jumps on this as a gravy train is despicable.

Two people were brutally murdered and you all want to discuss it on social media like it is the latest soap, 80% of the commentators do not even live here(koh tao). Alot of people I know here now are fed up with this and also want their peace back. This is real life and your words have seriously affected a criminal case, not only is this unprofessional it is on outright disregard for the justice of this family. Imagine what watching the news is like for them because of today's comments.

I fully support the RTP in their prosecution of people breaking the computer crimes act. Thailand 5 years ago may have struggled in finding and prosecuting offenders but thanks to modern technology and users not understanding or knowing about it, it is now much easier. ThaiVisa itself I believe is also going to be affected. The very fact they have allowed the farce to continue would be in breach. The only chance they stand is to openly divulge all user information to the Police.

To speculate about a crime is an offence.

"He said posting information which is inaccurate and false could breach Article 14 of the Computer Crime Act and is subject to five year imprisonment and 100,000 baht fine or both." - Royal Thai Police commissioner Pol Gen Somyot Phumphanmuang.

Section 14. If any person commits any offence of the following acts shall be subject to imprisonment for not more than five years or a fine of not more than one hundred thousand baht or both:

    (1) that involves import to a computer system of forged computer data, either in whole or in part, or false computer data, in a manner that is likely to cause damage to that third party or the public;

    (2) that involves import to a computer system of false computer data in a manner that is likely to damage the country's security or cause a public panic;

    (3) that involves import to a computer system of any computer data related with an offence against the Kingdom's security under the Criminal Code;

    (4) that involves import to a computer system of any computer data of a pornographic nature that is publicly accessible;

    (5) that involves the dissemination or forwarding of computer data already known to be computer data under (1) (2) (3) or (4);

I have been involved with IT on a professional level my whole life.I love computers, but I hate the people who use them. People in the real world are so different. They tend to think before they speak. Most to check if what are they going to say will offend someone or affect something, most will shy away from saying it if that is about to happen. When people speak online the same is not true. Many studies have been done on this, and most developed countries now enforce laws to get rid of this ugly side of internet use.

There are procedures of doing things, involved in the case now are the Biritsh Embassy, British Prime Minister, Burmese Embassy, Thai Activist Groups, Human Rights Commissions, British Police and so many more professional bodies. And you all think you need to do their job for them.

PS. On Further Inspection, ThaiVisa would come under this.

Section 15. Any service provider intentionally supporting or consenting to an offence under Section 14 within a computer system under their control shall be subject to the same penalty as that imposed upon a person committing an offence under Section 14.

    Good!

    Long may it continue.

  3. Absolute bs and speculation with out eny of the facts.

He the brother never really was a subject ,for litle while that day bcase of mis understandment of comment from mr mcanna "he did it"

who him self also has said that he didnt mean the murders he meant if he dies that night in supermarket its guys in picture who did .

Why they were chacing him ,was bcase he went to ac bar fumingly drunk after week bender and after all thiss has happened shouting all sorts of accusation and when the brother said u seem to have something to hide we know u have blood in your hands wich they had been told by worker of some other bar at other end of beach, that he had asked for help clean blood and had similar cuts. after that situation at night he run a way from ac and thai boys thought he accidently panicked and confessed.thats when was calling to sky news ,i find it weird if you think you gonna get killed is it news u want call first????

Later thought its cleared that he got hes injuries day before murders, similar cuts thought then david and he said got them by motorbike???

Why u think that sean mcanna been quiet since ,does he have something to hide or is he just a nother false story, attension seeker??

Ive not seen single video of nomsod been in koh tao and if you really think someone local here could bribe everyone all the way to top u are truly delucional.

I dont know what happened but know for 100 % shure brother have nothing else to do with case then last bungalow of hes resort is 50 m away from crime scene and that nomsod really was in Bk.

U can tvist it as much u guys want but its the truth.

You assert that the police pursuit of Nomsod and others related to him was caused only by the earlier confusion about whether Sean McAnna's text message about "who did it" was referring to who did the original crime or who was threatening to kill Sean. McAnna later says that he meant the latter, but before he left the island there was reason to believe that he knew something about the mafia on Koh Tao and possibly about the murders, and at the same time the police were coming up empty. And yet he was given safe passage off the island and out of the country with no further word of inquiry and no suggestion he'd be needed as a witness.

The police then announced they had arrested Mon, and were pursuing the headman's son (i.e. Nomsod) who had fled the island and was hiding in Bangkok. Pol-LtGen Panya said "both suspects were captured by CCTV cameras and the police have gathered enough evidence to implicate them in the murders." And that they would also nail the people who helped him escape. Police did not mention anyone's allegations, nor the ravings of the departed McAnna; they referred to evidence they had collected and examined.

    http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/one-tourist-murder-suspect-now-arrested-another-run/

The next day they released Mon after interrogating him and his brother the headman. Presumably Mon offered some explanation for his presence on CCTV, or convinced the police that it wasn't him. And Mon was saying Sean should be a suspect instead. But the headman was quoted as saying he could not contact his son and did not know whether he had a hand in the killings!

What would naturally follow all that would be an arrest and questioning of Nomsod, thorough investigation of his phone and plane records, etc, investigation of the speedboat escape and friends of Nomsod also missing from the island, but instead the very next day, police announced that Nomsod had some evidence that he'd been in Bangkok and all further inquiries and pursuit of leads regarding that family ceased.

Are you claiming that neither of these guys were on CCTV, that the police announced them as prime suspects with certainty and evidence, but were in fact mistaken and/or misquoted by Thai PBS, The Nation and Khaosod, and/or had been misled by one text message of a Scotsman they'd already deemed irrelevant?

Are you claiming that the police satisfied themselves with Nomsod's alibi without arresting him (their declared prime suspect) and by some other means of investigation literally overnight (from Sep 24 to Sep 25)? So that, just like you, the police don't know what happened but suddenly became 100% sure these two guys were not involved?

    What a great post!

    Thanks for that.

  4. WHAT ! ! ! Your post has been on here with that photo for more than 5 minutes now..... & not one bitch about the photo or camera, or lighting, or plate color...... Man I need to sit down with you and find out how you did that.

    tongue.pngbiggrin.pngbiggrin.png

Angle man, angle! Seriously, any vertical shot from directly above the plate is going to look bad. Come at with a 45 degree angle or so and give it some dimension and context - something like what the sophisticated diner is going to see when sitting at the table. A bird's-eye view might be good for triggering the "eat me" response in birds.

SOPHISTICATED DINER ???? Com'on Zzif this is the Pun Pun . I don't think that even a timeshare promoter could get away with calling our clientel sophisticated..... For heavens sake.... you eat here....you should know.

Now onto the 2nd comment about the 45 degree angle..... I tried that but the food kept sliding off the plate.

    So birds eye its beenbiggrin.png

How much for your fish and chips? Looks like a decent size portion, I will try and make it out there for a meal.

  5. I think that it's quite variable. I know of several foreigners married to Japanese women. Two couples are childless by choice. I don't know the women's true feelings but they appear to be happy. Some women love their husbands so much that they are willing to forgo having children. One friend who is dead now married at the age of sixty and had a wonderful relationship with his twin daughters until he died of liver failure and pneumonia at the age of seventy-four. He was a painter and was aware that the end was coming so he painted lots of oil paintings before he died that his wife and daughters are gradually selling off. His paintings have gradually increased in value so that they now sell for $40,000 to $50,000 each. I still have lunch with the daughters occasionally and they are grateful that they had fourteen years with such a wonderful father. Of course he also had children from his first marriage who were living independently when he remarried. So to sum up, it is my observation that each couple has a unique relationship depending on their personalities. If you love the woman that you propose to marry, the viability of your relationship would depend on either her willingness to not have children or your willingness to have children and love them but you should both be certain that you truly accept the choice that you make. Wishing you much happiness.

  6. Went to Toon's last week.

Really good food and excellent value for money!

Had the homemade Italian sausage, 2 big sausage's and a plate of chips for 150 baht, can't get better than that.

Ordered a pizza but was too stuffed to eat it so took it home, that was only 150 baht and tasted great.

Will definitely be back there again.

Con and Toon are very friendly people and it was a pleasure to talk with them and wish them all the best.

  7. I went to Toon's yesterday and ordered the medium Italian pizza- it was the best pizza that I have eaten in Thailand! Con and his lovely wife Nong are gracious hosts and I felt like I was a guest for dinner, they were that friendly.

To add to OP Pikey's directions, I have added the following insert:

Toons is open 10AM - 10PM except wednesdays and to find it you head into Mae Jo on the 1001 and after crossing the lights at the junction with the "old" 1001, continue about 300m. There is a market on the corner to your left and the uni is on your right. Turn left at the market <immediately before the Krueng Thai Bank> and head down about 400m. The restaurant is on the right and is marked by an orange rotating light.

Here is a photo of Toon's

Great, will check it out, I'm only up the road from there.

  8. I guess times have changed since I went to school, growing up in the Christian Brothers School, punishment was meted out for looking at a brother the wrong way or if one happened to be in bad mood, forget rulers, we're talking meter sticks here!smile.png

I'll never forget the time our teacher threw his maths book like a frisbee at one of the lads and caught him flush on the nose, does seem a bit much when you're 11, 12 years old but you think it's normal at the time. One parent actually came to the school one day after his kid went home with a fat lip, he started arguing with our brother, next thing it's an all out fist fight!

I don't know if it builds character or not, I do know we didn't often step out of linebiggrin.png

    Different times I guess.

I do know if I had told my Dad about it, he would have just said..."it's your own fault"

  9. I reckon you might have a hard time buying what you're looking for here in Chiang Mai, Bangkok would be your best bet. My advise would be to check out Crossfit Chiang Mai and ask the owner where he bought his Olympic bar and bumper plates, also I believe the 700 year stadium has a proper weightlifting setup so you might want to try there as well. I would be surprised if they got their gear anywhere other than Bangkok but you never know...

    Good Luck!

  10. I remember a few years back a guy was telling me he was out having a meal with his Thai girlfriend, they were sitting outside of the restaurant at about 9pm when a Thai guy ran up and super soaked their meal, ruining it. I asked the guy, "What did you do?" he said he stood up and belted him in the mouth. True or not I don't know, I don't see why he would make up a story like that. Fun is fun but you have to draw the line somewhere I guess, I wouldn't be too happy either.

  11. Why put yourself through that when it is unnecessary though. You don't need drugs at all to get your cholesterol down - I had relatively high cholesterol 269 and this went too low (to 150) within a month. I did exercise, took milk thistle and a few other supplements and cut out simple carbohydrates and refined cooking oils and adopted a healthy diet of vegetables, brown rice, nuts, seeds and 99% dark chocolate.

I also reversed my mates type 2 diabetes in 6 weeks (with not a drug in sight).

Where can you buy the 99% dark chocolate?

I buy mine from TOPS supermarket and it IS Lindt's excellence 99% dark chocolate - I am convinced it is this that has brought my blood pressure down from 135/85 with a pulse of 65 to 115/70 and a pulse of 55. I don't currently do any exercise (I plan to start back on the treadmill soon but am not sure if I need to)!!!

Thanks, I'll go have a look.

Tops carry a range of Lindt who make 99% but I'm not sure if they carry that one.

Alternatively buy 100% cocoa, eat, drink or whatever two heaped teaspoons daily, with sweetener if required.

    Nice, I'll check it out,

    Thanks!

  14. Alas, you will be just as healthy without them.

Over 40 years experience in the health field that included formulating supplements. Can assure you there are nutritional supplements that can greatly impact on your health in a positive manner if you know what they are and the reason to take them. Do some research and I'm sure you'll find some very well done peer reviewed studies to support my claim.

I'll vouch for that.. Started taking some new supplements with my whey protein work out shake and they're making me stiff from the stiff wind of a pair of hot wheels in heels stroll by like when I was a teenager... HA! Don't need viagra!

LOL @ whey protein work out shake

Afraid you'll miss your "Anabolic window" Daddyo?

    Just eat real food man...

  15. An Irish Breakfast and a few pints of Guinness, or Bailey with Ice, in an Irish pub smile.png To be honest its just a day to party IMO. But paddies day is one of the days I would go for an occasional drink. Not a big drinker though... Thai's haven't a clue what's its about, Lmao forget about it...

    "Thai's haven't a clue what's its about, "

I doubt most people know what it's about. Judging from the comments in this thread the common belief appears to be "it's about" getting drunk.

Back in December someone start a post about Christmas in Thailand and it was clear he had no idea what Christmas is (supposed to be) about. He seemed to think it had something to do with giving children toys for some reason unclear to him.

St. Valentine, All Saints, All Souls. Pretty sure the Thai Visa consensus would be that they, like any other day, present an excuse to drink and/or expect someone to give them something for free.

Saint Patrick's Day or the Feast of Saint Patrick is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated annually on 17 March, the death date of the most commonly-recognised patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.

    Lighten up Chief...

Come Paddy's day back home, we thanked god for the day off work and then went out and got hammered...

    Good times.

  16. I paid for one month at the Dangtuan and as of yesterday, it was 2,500. They said the priced increased October last year.

Sent from my GT-I9295 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

    Wow!

That is a price increase, I believe it was around 750-800 baht per month when I went there 4 years ago....

  17. I remember sitting in a bar with a friend, who had his teenage daughters sat next to him. They were maybe 12 - 14 years old and he was playing and joking with them as any father would do. His Thai wife was sat just a few feet away having an orange juice. A girl from another table went over to his wife and started chatting to her, which I thought was odd, whilst another girl kept looking over at my friend in an odd way. We later learnt that these two girls had put 2 and 2 together and got 9. They assumed that my friend was a paedophile, his wife was a pimp and his daughters were being rented out!

You guys going on about a guy who is having sex with 18 yo students as if he is a criminal and using expressions like kiddie fiddler reminds me of these girls. Sad, judgemental, demonising losers.

Hi Joe, I agree with your post.....However

I think that many people feel a person working as a foreign policeman here in Chiang mai should have the communities best interests at heart, not a person who runs a website promoting prostitution, gambling, using and exploiting girl for profit, etc.... They have a certain responsibility because as mamborobert says...."They are put in a position of trust"

I would not trust someone who's purpose here in Chiang Mai is to make money from promoting prostitution and gambling, I'm not sure but I think that's illegal anyway? Never mind the moral issue.

I don't believe it is a case of selfless volunteering but rather a sham so this person can continue his lifestyle.

    Regards.

  18. I believe this post from mamborobert in the previous thread sums it all up....

Sorry I got confused when they are diving round in big red vehicles with flashing lights with chequered flashing and POLICE written on the hood, door, tailgate etc etc. This is what they DO as you say ....and then we have another issue of what a member of this organisation does by his own admission.

Not a labelling issues for me at all...given them uniforms, guns whatever...but if you are going to be calling yourself "Police", much like Teachers and Nurses you are expected to be held to a higher level of conduct as you are in a position of TRUST. I would for example condemn a "police" pornographer (as opposed to a pornographer in general) as much as I would condemn a Teacher who abuses chidlren in their trust.

This is a job fit/integrity issue rather than a moral issue (for me anyway)......If you want to have a web site fine, if that web site is contrary to a professional working standard not so fine.

Would love to to see the commentray if such as site was being run by a known Thai Police Officer smile.png.pagespeed.ce.CwSpBGGvqN.png or Teacher....or Nurse

  19. "Zanta is the true underage club in Chiang Mai mostly girls going to school"

    Sounds charming.....

    rolleyes.gif

"Next we drive to Zanta cafe its one of only two underage clubs in Chiang Mai and its a great spot to pick up young Thai girls. By underage I dont mean 12 year olds either, underage in Thailand is typically girls under the age of 20 meaning they cant go into clubs like Infinity and warm up".

My bad Joe and apologies to the author, when I read "underage and School" I presumed he was talking about high school, not university.... makes sense now because a man in his mid 30's would have no reason to be out looking for kids still in high school...

I'll leave the girls in the underage club to the underage Thai boyssmile.png
