  1. Just spent a couple of hours going around Bo Phut that and Chaweng area and couldn't find one. Came home after getting a little red from the sun (I have fair skin ;p)

It seems there was another guy looking for a cafetiere on the other thread and has never found one here. I checked in Home Pro, Tesco, Big C and Makro and none of them had one.

While in Makro, I picked up a small sieve and as a cafetiere-size metal jug. Just now sitting down to have a fresh copy with it and doesn't work too badly. Might be a decent temporary solution for 160 Baht for anybody that has access only to a kettle or other hot water source in their room.

  2. Hello,

So I found a great room in Koh Samui very but there is no kitchen. There's a gas hob in the landing which they said they would set up and so I only need a coffee percolator be happy.

I'm looking for one like this - http://www.cheftalk.com/products/bialetti-6799-moka-express-3-cup-stovetop-percolatorit's

It would be amazing to get one with a plug on it and heating element that attaches to the mains but I doubt will find one here. Have tried Tesco Lotus (the big one) but they didn't stock them. Any advice is great appreciated.

  3. Hello,

So I'm staining on Koh Samui for a few weeks and there are a couple of basics with which I would really appreciate some help.

Firstly, I like to recycle and am unsure about how that works over here. I have seen green bins dotted along the roadside and there was one guy on a sidecar scooter collecting what appeared to be recyclable empties from kind of a cage/bin-type arrangement. If I dump my empty water and Chang bottles here will they get recycled?

Secondly is a couple of clothing basics. I'm staying in Lamai and was wondering if there was a shopping mall of some description where I could pick up white vests, white sports socks and perhaps a yoga mat.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

  4. Hello,

I'm in Samui and am looking for a room with internet. Somewhere cost effective for 1 month at least up to 6 months is fine. I'm 29, British, level-headed and easy to deal with. Best to contact me on.

I don't mind where on the Island is. Any help or guidance from anyone who knows their way around would be awesome.

    Thanks,

    Mark
