    surprise! Welcome to Thailand. Also, it seems they can’t work in Cambodia because the internet is too slow for these digital nomads. But anyway, seems like a bunch of criminals have figured out how to get these visas and are criming here because it’s like the Wild West.

    Just look for Chinese and Russian nationals with account over 10 million baht and do more due diligence. And if they are criminals, seize the money and treat it like a brown envelope. Most of the people with big money here are crooks anyway. Foreign and domestic. Leave the rest of us alone.

    This incident sums up thailand in a nutshell. We all know nothing will happen to the kid and the father will get in touch with the right people and life will go on. Daddy will be able to buy him a new bmw. Lesson learned.

    Too bad he didn’t act on it. Those emails and phone calls never stop. Maybe if it happened, those annoying spam would stop. The politicians might get off their butt and stop the junk sent to us to save their necks. It’s worth a US senator if we all stopped getting spam. Senators grow like weeds.

    I would guess maybe as much as half the Brits I’ve met in Thailand are getting benefits from the motherland illegally. The ones not of retirement age and do nothing all day are prime suspects. Plus they complain about everything. They figured out how to scam the system like this lady.

    This is what happens when you give major contracts to friends or siblings who have no idea how to do anything except kiss up. Extrapolate that onto the whole country and you have thailand. The amount of incompetence up top is mind blowing.

    The Pai locals barely get any real benefit. All the good land and big businesses were bought up by bangkok people years ago when Pai was recognized as the next big thing. It’s the same all over the country’s tourist hotspots. Locals own barely any of it, all the money made goes straight to bangkok, and the place is ruined because it costs too much to fix.

    See Lots of the Chinese in cm are thick stocky males, some with tattoos, smoking wherever they want. Always in small groups looking tough. My bet is they are involved in all this kidnapping and call scam center stuff.
