That was not on the website the last time I looked at it. That have done some changes since the last time. It is still not mentioned on this page. https://thaiembdc.org/visa_tourist_coe/

I am about 99% sure that will be changed since the will still be trying get people to travel to here.

I have seen the same date for months on several European embassy websites, and I am 100% sure that the date was on the scandinavian embassy websites from day 1.

Hopefully you are correct. The easier for people to stay a little longer, the better ????

At this time there is no end date for 45 day visa exempt entries. It will only go away when the quarantine requirements end since the extra 15 day are for that.

At this time South Korea might also be an option since you can enter visa exempt if from the usa

Are you sure that there is no end date for the 45 days visa exempt? It was originally 30 September 2021, but I haven't seen any more news on the subject.

I’ve extensively researched this as trying to get to Phuket on 1st July from the UK and thought the benefit of ‘the sandbox’ was that a 14 day quarantine wasn’t required?

I understand a SHA hotel is necessary but the previous post with links suggests a 14 day minimum stay??

If you want to stay less than 14 days in Thailand, you can do that. If you want to stay 14 days or longer in thailand (phuket) 14 days SHA is required.

    1. Yes and you will get a 30 day visa exempt entry. The 15 day entry rule was rescinded on January 1st when the 2 visa exempt entries at land border crossings per calendar rule went into effect.

    2. You can a 30 day extension at an immigration office.

    3. Ranong is the nearest crossing to Hua Hin where you can do the entry. I suggest you have 10k baht in cash in case they ask to see it.

Thank you very much. Your post was as always, very helpful ! :)

  5. Hi,

So far this year i have been on a ED Visa and after that a SETV, that i have extended with 30 days.

As they are to run out soon, i had planed for a month vacation, in indonesia. But as my gf unfortunatly just had an accident and broke her leg, we aint going anywhere for a month or 2.

My idea was to get a new ED when I returned from holiday, but there is too little time before my visa to run out, to use that option.

    So my questions are.

    1. Can I do a border run, and get 15 or 30 days?

    2. And if I can do it, can I then extend thoose 15/30 days?

    3. Where would be the best choice for me, to go.

I am based in Hua hin, and will be driving myself.

    Cheers.

  6. Thank you very much Brittim. I wanted to go savannakhet cause i was trying to avoid all the other visa runners and endless ques. but it seems like  its way easier to go to vientienne.

All i need in vientienne is myself and my passport ? recon i can make the pics and paper work outside the embassey

  7. Hi all,

Im sure this have been posted about lots of times. But im still confused, so im sorry if im missing the obvious.

Im currently on a ED "visa" 90 days with 3 extensions, and im soon due on the last. Im looking to stay for minimum another 3 months before im getting a work permit.

I guess that my only option is to go to laos, and get the METV. I have a car, so i want to drive myself.

My question is. Is there any other possibility than going to laos (savannakhet) and if I have to go there, what do I need of papers ect.

Im 41 years old, Danish, living in hua hin and currently making my money outside the country.

Hope to get some qualified help from you gents.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi all.

I'm on a ED visa and is supposed to go and do my first 90 day report tomorrow. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I won't be able to do it before Monday, meaning that I'll be 5 days late.

I can see from old topics that I'm looking at a 2000 bath fine, but no other penalties.

is that still the current rules, or are they changed.

  9. I need to activate 2nd leg of my double entry. Is that still possible in poipet ?

Im driving myself from Jomtien, so from what i can see, that should be the most easy option.

    Thanks in advance

Yes you can do it at Poi Pet.

The Ban Pakard and Ban Laem crossings are closer to Pattaya and are less busy than Poi Pet.

Thank you Ubonjoe, i will try the Ban Laem crossing :)
