It must be done from Thailand, you can't do it from the UK. The information is available at the gov.uk website, just follow the instructions, prepare the documents and book an appointment at VFS.

Maybe your time here is up. Once the rose tinted glasses come off you realize why so many Thais want to get out of the place.

Correct. Entirely unnecessary as long as you have a birth certificate.
Presumably you have a UK address to use on the application?
Yes I will have.

No i didn't. My understanding is this is not necessary.

I did it for my mixed race daughter, but we had to have proof of adoption in the UK (which we had) , or a valid birth cert with you named as the father, plus a certified DNA test proving paternity. Good luck.
I am on the birth certificate and married to his mother.

I would like to know if anyone has experience of getting their child's British passport in the UK. Is it a similar process to get the passport in the UK rather than Thailand? I'm going back to England anyway and I don't live far from the passport office in Liverpool. At the moment, as I live far from Bangkok it would be more difficult to visit the VFS office before I leave for England.

A 1kg bag of frozen pork sausages from Makro. I don't know the brand name but they have a white sticker on the them and are 210 baht. If you don't like these you are far fussier than I am and I am fussy about sausages,

Just look for the top selling bluetooth headphones on shoppee or Lazada. I got some but can't remember the name, maybe TWS. They are one of the best bargains I have ever bought as they were only 300 or 400 baht and I use them all the time now.

I'm going to move back to the UK soon and I am not concerned about the OP's post one bit. Everyone knows taxis are expensive. I never need to use them. I prefer eating homemade food and so the higher priced eating out doesn't concern me. The price of food is about the same but the quality is far higher. Buying 2nd had cars are much cheaper, schools are free etc. The best thing about it is I can earn 3 times as much money and won't feel like a criminal every time I visit immigration.

Can you please enlighten us of the procedure, my girl was born a few days ago and interested in the latest upto date facts not the general speculation.
Thanks in advance
Go to your local amphur with your Thai wife/girlfriend and ask for a copy of the birth certificate in English, I also got our marriage certificate in English. My wife showed them the original certificates and then they printed the English versions out and stamped them. The price is 10 baht per certificate.

I appreciate that it is called Amazing Thailand and that there is always the first time for everything, however as those offices are there to deal with Thai matters I somehow think you may be disappointed.
What a useless comment. I have just got the certificates quite easily.

Someone posted it in this forum.

I read that you can get a copy of a birth certificate and marriage certificate in English from your local amphoe. I want to get a British passport for my son who was born in Thailand, I'm British, his mother is Thai. I would much prefer the convenience of getting this English birth certificate to getting his Thai one translated and certified. I would like to know if anyone has experience of using this when applying for their child's British passport.

I am wanting to do the same. There are no replies and so maybe it is a bit early. Last time the woman said I would not be able to do another one but I will give it another try.

Mine was stamped until October the 14th. Can I go earlier or later than that date and get the extension until Nov 30th?
-
Just in case anyone is still interested. No you can't. You have to go to the main office.

I will be going there on Wednesday - As this is just a 30 day extension (with a Embassy letter) I see no reason why they can't do it there
Same here.

Does anyone know if you can get the 30 day extension with an embassy letter in The Blueport office in Hua Hin? I would much, much rather go there than the other place.

Thanks, yeah he was the only one to talk to, there's a separate room for application processing. He called his 'higher-up/boss' and asked about the 40k as well.
60 day extension it looks like then. The same thing happened to me at Hua Hin. He ummed and aahhed and then told me to go up and meet the manager. The manager was a lady who tried to get me to pay 20000 for a parent visa. I refused and told her what I thought of her. Yes, not a good idea but she really wound me up. Now I don't want to go back there, I may have to unless there is some good news for me concerning the amnesty. It would be really a big problem if I have to fly back to England just for a visa.

The best bread I have had is the no knead recipe by Jim Lahey. It's so easy, just leave it to rest overnight and it is honestly better than any bread I have had here. All you need is a hot oven preferably one capable of 230c- 250c.

I tried to get a marriage visa extension, had the income proof and all paperwork, but they said we cant do it. You have to pay 15000 baht to do it, it will be a secret they said. I said no and tried again a few days later. This time they wanted 20000 to get a visa through being a parent. I just got so angry they are trying to get money out of people in difficult times like this. I tried but now I don't know what to do.

2 minutes ago, SteveK said:I think you'll find dual pricing in many countries. In almost every attraction in the UK, you pay less if you're a "senior". How is that fair? It's just the way it is. This guy's problem is trying to expose this as some kind of crime when it is not.
He is deliberately trying to whip up a storm to bolster his online presence.

UK Standard Visitor Visa - How soon are appointments at VFS in Bangkok available?
in Visas and migration to other countries

I have tried to book an appointment. There are tons of paid 3400 Premium lounge or 3450 after hour appointments. There is not one single free biometric appointment. All this after already paying the 4000 plus baht visa fee. Just naked greed.
