Up until now I never had to show any money in Thailand, only my UK bank statment.
Also the fact that Immigration here give you a hard time.
I didn't need the headache, looks like that will all change!

Will do, but am going with Visa company (24th July) and they will handle all the paper work.
I have done the trip by myself many a time, but the last few years have used the same company.
Was also told that I no longer need a letter from the wife.
The only Doc's I need are.
2 Passport photo's
1 copy of passport
Certificate of marriage (copy signed by wife)
ID Card (copy signed by wife)
And 400,000 baht in bank.
Having booked will still go, but may have to look else where next time thanks ubonjoe.

Hi
I'm off to Kota Bharu next month to re-new my Multiple Non O based of marriage, i have done this for the last 10 years.
Today I have been informed that I must have 400,000bt in my Thai bank account. The money does not have to be seasoned,
& can be in a few days before applying for the visa.
On all my previous visits they have been happy with a statement from my on-line bank account in the UK, showing over 2,000 pound (100,000bt at the time).
Has anyone come across this?
Thanks for any help

I was looking to buy one for my boy a few weeks ago.
There is a shop opposite Makro, called ToysGame at Samui.
Might be the same company as the shop in Lamai.
Was quoted for X Box 360 (modchip) 14,500 baht
Extra Hard drive 320gb 3,700 baht
1 Controller 2,500 baht
You can buy un-chiped but the games cost more.

I see that you can now get the English Premier League from CHT through showtime app on your Samsung Smart TV.
As it's all in Thai I can't work out how you go about reciving this package, has anyone out there tried in on there TV's yet?
Yours Terry

When did they start charging? If it wasn't for the Daily Mail story on the full moon party 17 years go. I would not be in Thailand now. But the party was different then

Water quality on the island varies a lot. Where we are we get a lot of iron and aluminium in it. Everything turns brown, and I forgot what I was going to say. (Apparently aluminium causes loss of memory???)
About twice a year i get the same problem, my theory was pesticides seeping into the well from the mountains behind the house.
My Thai neighbor who i let share the well tells me it's not deep enough, (I believe it's over 100m)
Is there an easy why to check for Iron & Aluminum next time ?

I posted it on a Japanese web site, got a translation yesterday.
Didn't want to go down the route of a Japanese-Thai-English translation.
Never know what the outcome would have been

Is there anywhere on the island that can translate Japanese to English.
Maybe one of the school?

Thanks Limbos for the reply, just need to get new glasses now funny as didn't need to re do the test last time (5 years ago!)

So you do not need a medical certitcate to re-new a 5 year licence, also they take your photo there now, no need to bring one
is that true?
