We all know its lip service, but if this does happed where will all the stupid farang get their wive's and girlfriends. No prostitutes? my god the farang will have to cultivate decent proper girls.

So this is a situation regarding a close friend who needs advice...(I swear, none of it's about me )

(my friend) has a mia who is 6 1/2 months pregnant (what a coincidence! )

about a month ago, he fell for someone at his office.... That girl is the girl that everyguy in the office as well as out and about smiles/stares at as is similar the response to many girls towards my friend...so they kind of met their match foresay.

It seems they have fallen head over heals for eachother...perhaps many factors. She also happens to have a bf upcountry (who promised his mother he would ordain before he loses his virginity)..she realizes that my friend has a pregnant mia, and so it's kind of a mutual benefit/agreement/affair from the start. Despite her pure and natural beauty, was still a virgin though getting quite curious and anxious for the experience..well-bred from wealthy family and wanting to do rebellious acts, etc..

What started off as just a side-kick fun flirt...one thing led to another: going out together, dinner, holding hands, virgin her rejecting his first kiss attempt, going out more, courting-spell casting, reserved him rejecting her anticipated kiss attempt in public, secret phone calls, a movie, more secret/long phone calls, deception towards his mia to see her...

him seeing red...mia#1 getting suspicious, checking his phone, being a detective, etc..pushing him towards this new flame...and that's kind of where it stands

It seems the impossible situation, especially since the mia is pregnant. My friend is a good guy and isn't willing to leave the pregnant mia alone for some new yet-unsure fling. He still loves mia#1 as the mother of his to-be-born child, yet his new feelings are undeniable. He is still young. Mia#2 is atleast understanding (for now) and a very decent and worthy girl. Mia#1 wins in the longer time invested, and the conception of a child. Mia#2 wins in his responsibility of her virginity, not to mention mutualness, understanding, and openess, and those eyes (so he tells me)

No official laws have been broken yet as there are no registered marriages, and everyone is of age to consent, etc. As far as moral laws, it is arguable that many laws have been broken...

Ok, what are some oppinions of those who have experienced something similar. What are the justifications. What are the possible worst/best outcomes? He knows the wrong in what has been done. Nevertheless, what has been done is done. And the hard yet perhaps right thing to do would be to walk away from the mia#2. Though, it seems a lose/lose situation...As then he would have decieved her...and it crumbles him to even think about hurting her as he is so deeply infatuated with her.

Even if he were to continue with #2, he wouldn't neglect his responsibility to the child....but how can mia#1 come to terms...???

The fundamental rule comes to mind about the truth/honesty setting one free, but I've found in Thailand, and from lots of advice, that sometimes lies may be the best solution...ingorance is bliss, etc.

Can living many lives work out not always ending in disaster on the front page newspaper, some bizzare scandal bad ending, etc.? If so, how?

Hua Hin is very different from Pattaya etc. If I'm looking for a laid back time then I'll head for Hua Hin or Cha Am, if I want a lively time I'll whizz through to Pattaya.

Its nice to have the choice!

Whizz through? bus from Cha Am to the Monument then BTS to Eckamai then bus to Pattaya where you sit on walking street with a beer watching people enjoying themselves. Check Out 300 baht a night fan room Hotel after 4 days as no friends and watching the money, then get bus to Eckamai to BTS to Monument and back to Cha Am by bus for the last 5 days. Bus from cha Am to monument then taxi to Airport. Pretend to everyone back home you are a jet-setter and you spent loads of money (hiding in Cha Am). Back on this forum and pretend you are an Ex Pat giving out ridiculous info.

Even though the bus is quicker I reckon that most people prefer the train just for pure comfort. I know I do.

The bus and train are for Thai's, proper people go by car or fly.

Alternatively you can get a train from Hua Hin to Hualamphong but if you want to do the trip in a day you'll have to be an early riser.

There are 2 trains which leave HH for Hualamphong early morning which leave at 0520 and 0544 and arrive in BKK at 0945and 1005 respectively.

From BKK you can then have a bite to eat and get the 1105 train to Buriram which arrives at 1718

If you are bad at early mornings you can always get a later HH - BKK train and overnight in BKK before pushing on to Buriram th efollowing day. There are 2 trains which depart in the afternoon. One at 1415 and the other at 1638 arriving in BKK at 1910 and 2055 respectively.

If I was overnighting in BKK I'd take the 1415 and have a few relaxing beers whilst rolling up to BKK and still arrive in plenty of time for a good night out! Not that what I'd do is either here or there mind you but I thought I'd write it anyway......

My God this proves a point, how sad comes to Thailand for a 2 week holiday and takes a Train Schedule home. A trainspoter? that figure's.

Ex pat wannabe, get out and enjoy life, you have vacated in Cha Am too many time's.

Never used 'em but certainly have considered and threatened to. If I'm going to be out of the country for more than a few weeks, I will certainly try them out. I think the concept they have is outstanding and necessary in this country. As long as I'm in the country, I try and do all my own work on this matter but even then, I think they, or someone similar, would be most handy. Good luck with it pal; I know where you're coming from. If you need some pointers, message me. I have a good deal of knowledge just through my own personal experience. I have seen some outrageous and unimaginable things go down. You simply cannot trust I can assure you

Phuket is now the destination for Sex Tourist's only.  Family's are going to other destinations and rightly so, its all very well the ex pats trying to beef up the tourist numbers for their own gain but earthquakes are earthquakes. 

These events will always hapen, would you take your children to a disaster zone?????????

You must have a business in Phuket, for that I am sorry but I stick by what I have said.

I have seen so many farang fall by the way side, most are here or working illegaly. I am fortunate that I have dual nationality (Norwegian and English). I have a condo in BKK and in Hua Hin. I have lived here for 15 years and I am still amazed by the antics of the farang.

Unfortunately the Thais judge us the same, they see the holiday farang drunk causing trouble and giving money to the Bar Girls (more than money) and laugh and laugh.

Quite embarrising really.

Back to the point of view, Phuket has had an Earthquake which caused a dissaster, this will happen again, maybe next week or year or decade but it will happen. I for one would not want to be in Phuket when it happens, would you?

Uncle paul; I fully agree that those buggers are out there too - but my impression from this board is that most here are fairly street smart and not of the "taken for a ride" type.

As to stupid foreigners thinking that all Asien women are working in a bar - there is really little to say. Cheers!

Dead beats thats about the ticket, the majority of farang with Thai's found them from a bar working as a cashier of coarse (she never goes ot untill she met him).

The majority of teachers I have come into contact with should not be teaching. Work Permits again the majority do not have one. Its the last task before going home, desperation stakes, if you are teaching its because you cannot do anything else, bit of a joke really.

Land prices historically do not depreciate, this is mainly due to the fact that the majority of land is owned by Thai/Chinese who do not really ned to sell.

The proof of current land/house prices anywhere in the world is the amount that are being sold, not alot in Phuket from my understanding. Hua Hin house's are sold almost before they are completed.

The unfortuanate circumstances off the coast of Phuket will always be apparent, earthquakes seem to occur quite frequently now. Even if the property is on high ground you have neighbours and services that are not. you will have debris etc around the area.

My sympathie's to all that have been or are caught up in the problems here. They will not go away, ever.

As said above there is pretty much one down every street. I think Cups n Comp was the first ever internet cafe in HH.
